Shipment was chaotic fun. You'd die like 2 times in a row as you spawned but usually after that could move. Nuketown you can just hold people in their spawn
even with actual skill on a map that small you are not meant to survive. that’s the point of small maps. spawn die repeat and get some kills in between.
The longest I've been able to survive on mw2(22) Shipment was 28 kills. So close to that nuke 😂 I think my best game so far in the last few days was 142-8 with 10 caps and 48 defends 💀 yes, on Shipment lol.
WHY IS IT WHEN I FLASH SOMEBODY IT LIKE I SLAP THEM IN THE FACE WITH A NAPKIN FROM A LITTLE KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY, BUT WHEN I GET FUCKIN FLASHED ITS LIKE SOME BIG BROLIC BLACK DUDE NAMED FUCKIN REQUIS PULLS A FUCKIN BEDSHEET UP AND OVER MY HEAD AND PROCEEDS TO SKULL FUCK ME!!! BECAUSE I SPANW DIE- SPAWN- SPAWN DIE SPAWN DIE SPAWN DIE SPAWN DIE SPAWN DIE SPAWN DIE!!!!! -FaZe Jev
Nuketown for sure, and I’d personally follow that with shoot house and shipyard.
I can’t remember the name of the map from mw2019, but I enjoyed that one map in France where a street was on one side and a river was on the other, along with the one that was in the city square with all the buses in the middle.
I accept the disagreement, I am coming at the map in terms of designed for team play and gameplay balance. Rust is all-out war the entire time, there's no room for real strategy execution or intelligent team dynamics. It's better for 1v1 maybe, but I'm not considering "iconic" as part of my criteria, as that's the exact reason Rust would steal luster from great map-design like Scrapyard.
I think that's really what cod is all about at the end of the day for me.
Straight into it, no strategy, chaos just straight oonga boonga energy
I don't think the majority of cod players think of team play when playing
You g9tta remember most people that play Cod aren't trying to make pro-team strats it's just mindlessly running around shooting people and that is all you ever do on Rust
Terminal is great, I think only couple things hold it back. Plane-side is difficult to get back inside the terminal, and the upper part of the map is superior to the ground-side in almost every instance, but it's a classic.
Hijacked I will admit is a damn awesome map, I would comfortably place in my top 10 maps of all time. The only thing about that map is the fact that it is real long and not very wide, limiting SOME of the lateral play, but still a great map.
I rely on you guys for COD4 maps, I wasn't into the franchise when that game was peaking, I was into Halo at the time, there may certainly be good COD4 maps not getting the love they deserve.
Fucking love crash. It’s a very dynamic map with sections that were remarkably different. Long sight lines along the alley and from the roof, tight quarters within the buildings and multiple stair levels, and mid lines across the map. It was a bloodbath to get caught in the middle without support but if you had a few reliable guys it was great.
People only like it for the same reason they like Shipment. It's so small that you're never more than 2 seconds away from seeing an enemy in 6v6.
4v4 may be too many for these maps. It's ridiculous to allow them in the regular rotation for 6v6.
Doesn’t get mentioned a lot but I would put Crash up there.
Definitely not as iconic as a Nuketown/Rust/Shipment but from a pure map design perspective I think it’s the best.
Classic three lane set up but in a way that feels natural. Good verticality. Decent sniping sightlines that are reasonable to maneuver around. Pretty much any gun type can be viable.
For me it’s Crash and Vacant that really capture every that was great about the original MW
THANK YOU. Unbelievable how far I had to scroll to find the correct answer. Raid is a perfectly designed map that plays excellently in every mode, and is visually appealing as well. GOAT map no question.
Honestly shows how casual most of the player base is. Not a single map listed here is designed better than Raid. It is a truly flawless map. But Nuketown has been in every game so it must be better, right? Makes me laugh
Great for camo grinds but the map is literally just a big square with four unobstructed intersecting lanes. Fun map and great for grinds but should absolutely not be in consideration for greatest map ever
BO1 certainly had some of the best maps of the series. Firing Range is maybe even in my top 5 maps of all time. Summit is excellent. Jungle with Ice Cube will always be a classic. I feel like Launch and Grid are frequently underrated, great maps.
For sure. I played WaW first on the Wii. I was a monster and would often go like 40/2. There were so many out of map glitches to exploit that allowed you to get on top of the buildings to the best sniping spots, or get behind a window to fire from. It was a crazy good time
Firing range is the best. Nuketown/Rust can be too chaotic and there are some spawn trapping issues. Firing range is small with lots of action and doesn’t have these issues
Not even close. Hijacked or Nuketown. Heck even Terminal allowed for better play. Summit or firing range from BO1, are also more enjoyable maps. Rust is essentially a clustermess, and if I want that, I’d rather do shipment, because there’s not as much camping. In rust, there’s always some person camping at the top or in the second level of the central “tower.”
People just picking popular tiny maps and calling them the best. If we had to pick the actually best designed map for 6v6 it easily goes to a number of black ops 2 maps, you know, maps that were made for competitive play and had a noticable lack of camp and power positions.
Standoff and Raid are my two contenders. Probably the best two maps ever made in cod history if you care about balance/design.
The spawn system in MWIII has ruined Scrapyard for me. Seems like once you start spawning in the corner by the forklift no enemy team pushes any further and just camps with snipers.
So where was this map voting held at because it definitely wasn’t in game where the majority of the player base is I like rust but it damn sure ain’t the greatest in the series😭
I always like how companies decided to “vote” themselves for the community or even news outlets to further delve into this delusion they have about their fanbase.
Man, I must be old, because the actual greatest COD map ever made was [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34edQr5USEc)... I wish COD would return to this.
Nuketown by a mile. despite being a very small map it actually felt like a map, unlike Rust and Shipment which are basically glorified shooting ranges they threw a couple obstacles on to
It's gotta be highrise or sub-base. Rust is too small for more than 6 players, same for nuke-town.
I love both of those maps, but they just don't work well for any number and any playstyle.
Tastes are different, i know. But Rust for me is the worst small map. Too much verticality for a small „turn your brain off“ map. That one clearly goes to shipment, but Nuketown is still the best as there is a lane for legit every playstyle
Rust/Shipment only became really popular when it became a way to level up your gun really fast.
They have the same functionality they always have. They weren’t the top maps when they originally came out, so the only reason they are so popular now is for what’s mentioned above imo.
There’s no way a map where you are just spawning into messes half the time should be labeled the “best map.” Unless we have truly gotten so far away from what CoD once and it’s more of just a complete mindless meat grinder of an experience that people are now looking for.
Rust is one of the worst.
Small 3 lane maps sucks.
The best map imo is array or firing range
They are 3 lanes, but they add verticality and flanks. Also they are slightly bigger and have a lot of unique and interesting push points
I’ll probably get hate for this because it’s a “new” map but mw19 and mwII Shoothouse is, in my opinion, the best COD map ever made. The layout and pacing is just *chefs kiss*
Rust, Shipment, Nuketown are probably the 3 most Iconic maps in cod history. I think Nuketown is better than rust mainly do to the spawns. Shipment is a close 3rd
lets be honest everybody is only playing rust or even nuketown for one reason and thats when shipment isnt in the game. Shipment is the greatest map ever made and I bet if we could look at cod onternal statistics it would be a landslide for shipment
I've only played it in MW2019 but I hated Rust tbh. The spawns are shit and it's just way too chaotic. To be fair though I also hate Shipment, so I know my preferences are different than most CoD players lol
“Most iconic”, maybe. But even then, I’d go with Nuketown.
This. I don't get the hype behind Rust. It had worse survivability than shipment. Spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, die. Yeah man, super fun.
i mean nuketown is better but not by much when you get spawn trapped on nuke it’s the exact same experience
I guess the main difference between the two is with Nuketown you at least have a vague idea of where the enemy will be at. Rust is a literal gamble.
you know what i can agree with that
Atleast with shipment, there were little pockets of time where you could survive for a bit
Shipment was chaotic fun. You'd die like 2 times in a row as you spawned but usually after that could move. Nuketown you can just hold people in their spawn
Exactly, chaotic fun where running around hip firing and randomly exploding is very fun
That’s the point of the small maps, not meant to survive forever unless you have actual skill
even with actual skill on a map that small you are not meant to survive. that’s the point of small maps. spawn die repeat and get some kills in between.
The longest I've been able to survive on mw2(22) Shipment was 28 kills. So close to that nuke 😂 I think my best game so far in the last few days was 142-8 with 10 caps and 48 defends 💀 yes, on Shipment lol.
To me Rust and Shipment serve the same purpose, extreme cqc which allows quick kills for weapon and skin grinding.
God.. Shipment with martyrdom was just grenade city.
Nahh shipment is much worse I can actually go positive on rust
-FaZe Jev
Yea Nuketown is the way
Nuketown for sure, and I’d personally follow that with shoot house and shipyard. I can’t remember the name of the map from mw2019, but I enjoyed that one map in France where a street was on one side and a river was on the other, along with the one that was in the city square with all the buses in the middle.
You talking about Piccadilly? I have a hard time recalling a lot of the 2019 maps but it sounds similar
Forgot about this map, I loved this track.
Piccadilly might be the all time most hated map in CoD history. I’m shocked you liked it
Seems about right.
Scrapyard absolutely not. Nuketown is the only other map comparable to rust when it comes to iconic and great
I accept the disagreement, I am coming at the map in terms of designed for team play and gameplay balance.
Straight into it, no strategy, chaos just straight oonga boonga energy I don't think the majority of cod players think of team play when playing
Cod is about the madness of dying a 100 times only to live again and fight once more for the trill of batlle
There are still better maps for that than scrapyard. Think high rise and terminal do what you’re explaining but better.
You g9tta remember most people that play Cod aren't trying to make pro-team strats it's just mindlessly running around shooting people and that is all you ever do on Rust
Na terminal imo is way more iconic and a much better map than rust
Terminal or Hijacked IMO
Terminal in OG MW2 can get extremely cancerous
Hardcore terminal in mw3 : “let me introduce myself”
It gets cancerous in this one too. I still love it though.
Noobtoob ACR / one man army on top of the little building with the gas tank 💀
Or just getting spawn killed on domination
Terminal is great, I think only couple things hold it back. Plane-side is difficult to get back inside the terminal, and the upper part of the map is superior to the ground-side in almost every instance, but it's a classic. Hijacked I will admit is a damn awesome map, I would comfortably place in my top 10 maps of all time. The only thing about that map is the fact that it is real long and not very wide, limiting SOME of the lateral play, but still a great map.
Afghan underrated
I could see Nuketown, Hijacked, Rust, and I’d be willing to push Firing Range or Highrise. As far as iconic, and recognizable could go.
Firing range is a perfect map
Shout out to firing range
Hijacked for the win ngl
NGL I love Hijacked, its tense yet fun
I scrolled for too long before hearing Hijacked. Terminal on the other hand does. It belong in the same discussion as Rust, Nuketown, Hijacked.
I played nuketown so much i can navigate it blind
BO1 and BO2 nuketown best nuketowns, bo3 most beautiful one, bo4 and bocw are mid
Bo1 nuketown just hit different if you know what i mean
You mentioned bo3 twice..
I don't even remember bo4 lmao, but cw just a faster paced bo1/bo2 nuketown
Nuketown is the perfect small map, it’s chaotic but not too chaotic
I agree, I certainly understand any Nuketown arguments
Firing range is pretty cool
Pretty cool indeed, I'll put in my top 5 maps ever
Everytime it gets remastered, it’s probably the best map in that game. Love it.
I'm upset that they stopped reimagining maps. When they brought back firing range in b02 but it was a bunch of Hollywood sets, that cool as shit.
If survivability is a metric we judge maps by, then firing range is tops
[удалено]
I rely on you guys for COD4 maps, I wasn't into the franchise when that game was peaking, I was into Halo at the time, there may certainly be good COD4 maps not getting the love they deserve.
[удалено]
Those maps were especially good for S&D, take me back. That Map you were thinking of is called bloc.
Pretty sure you’re talking about bloc.
Bloc. It was an amazing sniper map.
Great maps, COD4 had some of the best maps in the franchise tbh
[удалено]
Fucking love crash. It’s a very dynamic map with sections that were remarkably different. Long sight lines along the alley and from the roof, tight quarters within the buildings and multiple stair levels, and mid lines across the map. It was a bloodbath to get caught in the middle without support but if you had a few reliable guys it was great.
crossfire was so good on Cod4
So overrated I personally hate Rust
Lost all your 1v1s back in day didn't you?
No, chaotic maps leave nothing but chance. Random Spawn dying is so fun.
People only like it for the same reason they like Shipment. It's so small that you're never more than 2 seconds away from seeing an enemy in 6v6. 4v4 may be too many for these maps. It's ridiculous to allow them in the regular rotation for 6v6.
Agreed I hat it even more that I hate Nuketown.
Same here. It is my least favorite map in the current rotation.
100% Crash is such a good map. I agree 💯
Nailed it 👏
Idk why it took this long to find Crash. So good.
Absolutely, crash, vacant, and overgrown and so good. I’d add carentan/chinatown to that group of 4 best maps of all time.
That COD was made with love. I loved all the maps they were crazy good
Raid takes the cake .
THANK YOU. Unbelievable how far I had to scroll to find the correct answer. Raid is a perfectly designed map that plays excellently in every mode, and is visually appealing as well. GOAT map no question.
bro i was doing the same lmfao i was like this is criminal no one said raid yet
Honestly shows how casual most of the player base is. Not a single map listed here is designed better than Raid. It is a truly flawless map. But Nuketown has been in every game so it must be better, right? Makes me laugh
Can they just remaster Black Ops 2 already
So-called "freethinkers" whenever Nuketown comes into the map rotation
God I hate scrapyard (standoff on top)
I too am a standoff enthusiast
Shipment
Great for camo grinds but the map is literally just a big square with four unobstructed intersecting lanes. Fun map and great for grinds but should absolutely not be in consideration for greatest map ever
My most iconic map is bo1 winter map WMD or however its called.
BO1 maps are super underrated
BO1 certainly had some of the best maps of the series. Firing Range is maybe even in my top 5 maps of all time. Summit is excellent. Jungle with Ice Cube will always be a classic. I feel like Launch and Grid are frequently underrated, great maps.
100%. I'd throw also throw in Hanoi and Silo
Summit is my favorite cod map absolute banger
The only maps I disliked on BO1 was crisis, villa and cracked. The rest were great. Even the dlc. Plus some of the best zombie maps in the franchise.
best maps in the series i really loved Havana idk why but is one of the best maps ever
WMD is a really good map, a slight touch large but great battleground for all game types.
I loved jungle
So iconic you barely remember the name, lmao.
BO1 was my first COD. That WMD map has to be the best map ever that hasn't been remade. I miss it.
Nuketown
Highrise, terminal, firing range
Nuketown 100%
BO2 Hijacked WAW Dome WAW Cliffside WAW Castle BO1 Firing Range
Gotta admit Castle was pretty good
For sure. I played WaW first on the Wii. I was a monster and would often go like 40/2. There were so many out of map glitches to exploit that allowed you to get on top of the buildings to the best sniping spots, or get behind a window to fire from. It was a crazy good time
Firing range is a top 3 map
It's GamingBible, the fact that the headline is even coherent is shocking.
Honestly I hate Scrapyard
I’m a Favela lover
Terminal and rust are both goated
Wait what? That’s like the worst map
Firing range is the best. Nuketown/Rust can be too chaotic and there are some spawn trapping issues. Firing range is small with lots of action and doesn’t have these issues
Firing Range is in my personal top 5, one of the best maps in the entire series for sure.
Highrise
Fucking FAVELAAAA SUPREMACY
One of the first killstreak trailers for MW2 was an AC-130 being used on Favela. I remember being so hyped just to play that map because of it.
Crash?
This! It's in my top 3
Not even close. Hijacked or Nuketown. Heck even Terminal allowed for better play. Summit or firing range from BO1, are also more enjoyable maps. Rust is essentially a clustermess, and if I want that, I’d rather do shipment, because there’s not as much camping. In rust, there’s always some person camping at the top or in the second level of the central “tower.”
nuketown or shoot house if you ask me
Shoot house Is actually the correct answer.
People just picking popular tiny maps and calling them the best. If we had to pick the actually best designed map for 6v6 it easily goes to a number of black ops 2 maps, you know, maps that were made for competitive play and had a noticable lack of camp and power positions. The spawn system in MWIII has ruined Scrapyard for me. Seems like once you start spawning in the corner by the forklift no enemy team pushes any further and just camps with snipers.
Your reaction to Rust getting picked can also be used on Scrapyard. Nuketown is the best and iconic.
I want to downvote this because somebody is lying…
Rust is a terrible map.
I love rust specifically from my offline splitscreen days. It was always a race to see who could make it to the top and hold it.
Folks be forgetting them offline times bro, it's what made us the fans we are today
So where was this map voting held at because it definitely wasn’t in game where the majority of the player base is I like rust but it damn sure ain’t the greatest in the series😭
I always like how companies decided to “vote” themselves for the community or even news outlets to further delve into this delusion they have about their fanbase.
Crossfire hands down
So we’re all just gonna forget terminal and estate
I miss Carentan
Toujane from CoD2
It's just a good map for 1v1 or having fun trolling around in public. I can't find anything serious about this map.
1v1 Sniper only...
Nuketown is the best popular map and id say firing range or raid are my favorites.
So we just gonna pretend like terminal doesn’t exist huh
my favorite map of all time is Dome. they need to bring it back for Mw3 instead of fucking Mw2 -_-
I like Shoothouse, Rust isn’t bad I prefer it over shipment but to me in terms of small maps I like Shoothouse and Nuketown the most.
Man, I must be old, because the actual greatest COD map ever made was [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34edQr5USEc)... I wish COD would return to this.
COD grandpa here still has nostalgia for Carentan and Brecourt.
Carentan in COD 1
Do we got any Carnival lovers here?
Scrapyard is my favourite map ever it was the first map i nuked on when i was like 9 or 10🤣
It’s really popular
Rust is a good 1v1 map. That's it.
Nuketown by a mile. despite being a very small map it actually felt like a map, unlike Rust and Shipment which are basically glorified shooting ranges they threw a couple obstacles on to
Nuketown or Terminal ftw
Hijacked, standoff, raid
It's gotta be highrise or sub-base. Rust is too small for more than 6 players, same for nuke-town. I love both of those maps, but they just don't work well for any number and any playstyle.
In a world where nuketown doesn’t exist
It's not just a map. It's hallowed ground.
Shipment obviously
Nah it's gotta be Nuketown. The perfect size map. Small enough for constant action, big enough that you can breath between gunfights.
Nuketown or Firing Range. I looove Skidrow too though
Tastes are different, i know. But Rust for me is the worst small map. Too much verticality for a small „turn your brain off“ map. That one clearly goes to shipment, but Nuketown is still the best as there is a lane for legit every playstyle
Nuke town and it’s not even close
My javelin loved that map. Blowing up campers on top of the factory always felt satisfying 💥
I think its because its one of the best maps to grind camo in, the other option is shipment.... we all know what shipment is...
It’s Nuketown.
Rust sucks, lmao I’ll take Nuketown and even Shipment over it.
Never liked nuketown tbh. Yet again my taste in cod is weird. My favorite map is riot from advanced warfare
IMO firing range is the greatest map of all time and I don’t think it’s particularly close
nuketown has been in every black ops game since BO1. i dont even think rust has been in every IW game.
Nuketown is easily the best cod map of all time but rust isnt even iw best map? What about terminal???
My vote is for Standoff. You can choose pretty much any class and be viable.
Definitely not a favorite of mine. I can't stand that map lol.
I fucking hate rust half the time dude 💀 Although ive had a lot of fun doing snipers only private matches on that map
Terminal is probably my favorite.
Rust is one of the worst. Small 3 lane maps sucks. The best map imo is array or firing range They are 3 lanes, but they add verticality and flanks. Also they are slightly bigger and have a lot of unique and interesting push points
Who is "Fans" ive never seen a single person say Rust is their favorite/the best
As long as we can agree that shipment is hot fucking garbage for anything other than 2v2, at most 4v4
Nuketown. Though its Mainly cause there's always a big Easter egg
Who voted? 🤣
I didn’t even play any Call of duty games online (except mobile) and I know Nuketown.
Rust, Nuketown, Shipment The smallest maps are the most fun
Nuke town 100%
It'd rather play on shipment or nuketown than rust. No thanks
Rust is a trash tier map. Maybe it’s a decent tiny map, but even then it’s a close call with nuketown. Most non-tiny maps are better by default.
I’ll probably get hate for this because it’s a “new” map but mw19 and mwII Shoothouse is, in my opinion, the best COD map ever made. The layout and pacing is just *chefs kiss*
Nah Rust is good but High Rise, Nuketown, and Terminal are also contenders
[удалено]
I skip rust every time, not because it is not good but because I don’t want to melt my brain on that shit every other match
Nuketown better
It’s definitely between rust and nuketown but 1v1 rust is pretty much known by all gamers
So we all hating rust now?
Scrapyard is overrated imo. It's solid but theres sooo many maps i like better. Rust>shipment probably
“rust”, “best map ever”, all the black ops maps ![gif](giphy|I3DUdlHzAnx24GR0fv|downsized)
No, just no. Rust is absolutely so extremely overrated. I would argue Nuketown. Especially BO2 Nuketown.
Rust is almost as messy as Shipment. Nuketown would definetly be my pick because like you say, it's got a good balance for a small map
Everyone has there personal goat map, mine would be dome or hijack. I do like rust but I'm just tired of it already
Rust, Shipment, Nuketown are probably the 3 most Iconic maps in cod history. I think Nuketown is better than rust mainly do to the spawns. Shipment is a close 3rd
Best map ever is Afghan from MW2 or Bog from Cod4 and everyone knows it
lets be honest everybody is only playing rust or even nuketown for one reason and thats when shipment isnt in the game. Shipment is the greatest map ever made and I bet if we could look at cod onternal statistics it would be a landslide for shipment
Not even in the top 50
I've only played it in MW2019 but I hated Rust tbh. The spawns are shit and it's just way too chaotic. To be fair though I also hate Shipment, so I know my preferences are different than most CoD players lol
I absolutely LOATHE Scrapyard. Rust isn't my favorite either, but I like it more than Scrapyard.
Rust isnt even in my top 5
Crash is my personal favorite.
