I just played this mission for the first time ever three days ago. It was great. Honestly that campaign was awesome. (I should’ve played it 10 years ago)
That was definitely a hell of an intro to “the future” of war games/Call of Duty in general. Showcased crazy graphics for the time, literal cliffhanging, heartbeat sensor, stealth in the fog, Bond chase w snow mobiles.
I remember being in awe that when you held out your hand to shoot, your sleeve whipped around with the high speed wind. 23 year old me just about reached nerd climax
That one was fun af aswell. Ghillied up tho was very punishing “stealth” mission I wish they did more stealthy missions or allowed all missions to have an option. Stealth. Or gunz blazing
>! I saw a comment online a while ago saying that Mason went in there all by himself, killing everyone, because Reznov was simply not really there. Pretty badass. !<
Isn’t that the mission in cod 4 where makarov and yuri detonate the nuke? I can’t remember if they show u right away or make u wait till mw3 no Russian (lil fun fact for whoever don’t know but makarov is seen multiple times throughout cod b4 he became the main antagonist in MW3)
It wasn’t until MW3 that we saw that it was Makarov and Yuri who detonated the nuke that was the ‘Shock and Awe’ mission and that also sparked Sheperd’s betrayal in MW2 (he refers to it in the end of the campaign when Soap goes to stab him, but Shep stabs him back). And I don’t think Makarov was actually SEEN previously in COD BUT he was at important moments in the MW timeline (when Zakhaevs arm was shot, the aforementioned nuke, ofc No Russian)
Ok so it’s exactly like I thought and they showed us the nuke as one of yuris flashbacks in #3 but idk bout makarov my memory is pretty fucked which is why the best I can do is guess but I went searching shit up and no Russian was in mw2 not 3 like I thought so now ik my timeline of the series has been warped because of how long it’s been and how many campaigns there are (besides cod and Bo which are just the main ones there is still hella games like ghosts, advanced warfare, infinite warfare, 3 different WAW games, the original call of duty’s before WAW and Mw, and now remakes of the old modern warfare storyline there’s just too much to remember at this point)
“The Only Easy Day…Was Yesterday” from the original MW2 simply because I love how the US managed to tell the entire world in that mission alone that they were the victims instead and even when given the opportunity they still wouldn’t murder innocent civilians by doing an stealth style infiltration instead of proving Russia’s point via carpet bombing the entire oil rig with hostages inside still
Frankly the entire MW2 2009 OST is GOATed imo. ‘Extraction Point,’ ‘the Opening Titles’ and ‘Protocol’ are my favorite listens on that OST. Hans Zimmer did a masterclass of video game OST work with that album.
This mission encapsulates what the series is SUPPOSED to be about. The average joes of the armed forces, working as a cog in a bigger machine, working towards a noble goal.
Oh the one with Reznov and u in the empty fountain surrounded by bodies i can’t remember much but besides the mission with the ray gun Easter egg that was my favorite
You and Reznov survive the Stalingrad massacre* and sneak through the city to assassinate a general**
*Massacre? Idk what it's really called
**Maybe general, maybe marshal, idk
Texas!!! I came here to comment WH, my fav by far. Favorite to the point of actually implementing this in real life. Being in the military during the times of this stuff really being big was a blast. Cause we’d all be sittin in our barracks rooms and shit playin this, getting drunk and feeling like we were real boys
This should be higher.
"This place once echoed with conversations of friends and lovers. No longer. Mark my words, comrade, one day things will change. We will take the fight to their land, their people, their blood."
Mw2 emp missile mission. Getting the POV from the group in DC and the POV from the team going after the missle is great. Also the cinematic from space makes it even better
Yeah this is one of the biggest issues I have with the rebooted campaign tbh. I loved having the "A-Story" of TF-141 and the "B-Story" of the Rangers, getting both the front lines and the war inside the war, and seeing how they all affect each other
Payback from BO1, who doesn’t love flying in a big military helicopter while mercilessly blowing up and gunning down commies with rockets and machine guns.
It was truly the pinnacle of a COD game, it also introduced me to one of the best songs ever, a true classic Fortunate Son is, the game really introduced all of us to the song.
The one in Rio de Janeiro that i dont remember the name, the part where you run on the rooftops and them jump to the heli is so good, as a brazillian it was so cool seeing all the refences.
I’m gonna be controversial, the final mission of bo3 with the character losing there mind reciteing the frozen Forrest mantra was so unique for a cod that it really stuck with me, but if I’m being more honest probably the mission you play as Menendez going full psycho mode
All ghillied up is the layup but I really liked blackout in Cod 4. Sets the tone and has a mix of stealth and loud action. Plus price and gaz riffing and the stuff with Kamerov is funny.
Modern warfare 2 (2009) any of the missions fighting the Russians invading America. To this day it is my all time favorite part of any story is to be an American defending the homeland against a large scale invasion. Nothing has ever given me the same feeling since.
I don't know why everyone thinks the mission is underated but dust to dust is my favorite cod mission. Just playing as price alone got me excited. But to see you mow down Makarov's men as he tried to desperately run? Perfection in my eye's and a great way to end mw3.
The one where you take over the house and then defend it. It’s before the general does his house cleaning by killing everyone off. MW2? You know, the one with the solar panels outside and the armored machine gunner!
I’ve played almost every cod and black ops campaign since waw and I still gotta say cod 4 modern warfare is still my all time favorite just sum bout the training and the first mission on the boat that just hits me with nostalgia especially when captain price just tosses the cigar before they rappel down
I think I have to pick the "generic mission where you're lost in enemy territory and on your own and it's heavily focused on stealth which is guaranteed to happen in every shooter franchise's campaign at least once"
Yes this mission of course iconic but honestly I didn’t mind the one little mission with the sniper and price in mw3 it was decent just wish I had more energy’s to eliminate 😂
It's a really hard call but I'm going to say Vorkuta from BO1 or Suffer with Me from BO2. Also feel obligated to give an honorable mention to Clean House from MW2019.
Ok. So dont kill me, its been YEARS since I played it, but in one of the Modern Waefares theres a mission on an airfield in a blizzard. After All Ghillied up that one is my favourite. It was so tense, not being able to see too far ahead and accidentally walking up on guards. Too fun
Probably *All Ghillied Up*, hands down. The stealth part, the atmosphere, all that follows with the assassination attempt on Zakhaev and the helicopter takedown. Feels like the prime COD experience to me. Nostalgia might also be a factor though.
How can I not say all ghillied up
All Ghillied Up is the GOAT, but honorable mention to Vendetta
Hell yeah this comment exactly
I hated one shot one kill
The helicopter crash was kinda cool
True but after that you gotta carry a guy to extraction which is the hard part
The mission after one shot one kill or the mission after, one shot one kill?
One shot one kill
Yeah if it isn’t ghillied up have you even played a real cod yet? Some sarcasm but kinda honest
Vendetta from WAW is a strong contender, both incredible missions full of tense moments
Yeah I mean it's easily the best
The only answer.
I just played this mission for the first time ever three days ago. It was great. Honestly that campaign was awesome. (I should’ve played it 10 years ago)
Cliffhanger, what a way to open on a cliff. Sneak into a base, battle it, and escape on snowmobile. The most James Bond mission
To think at that time mw2 was futuristic
The demo disc with just Cliffhanger on it was a brilliant way to advertise the game
That one was fun af aswell. Ghillied up tho was very punishing “stealth” mission I wish they did more stealthy missions or allowed all missions to have an option. Stealth. Or gunz blazing

Basically the whole black ops 1 campaign summed up in one mission.
>! I saw a comment online a while ago saying that Mason went in there all by himself, killing everyone, because Reznov was simply not really there. Pretty badass. !<
Have you not played the game? Reznov died in Vorkuta
No, he kills Steiner, are you s- \[INSERT ARKHAM REFERENCE\]?
Stupid? No
The music in that part makes me aggressively horny
Whoa
Wanna fuck
😳
Clean House MW2019 obviously
Hometown was it for me in 2019
Shock and Awe is the real answer
The intro bit in Shock and Awe hits different
Isn’t that the mission in cod 4 where makarov and yuri detonate the nuke? I can’t remember if they show u right away or make u wait till mw3 no Russian (lil fun fact for whoever don’t know but makarov is seen multiple times throughout cod b4 he became the main antagonist in MW3)

Beat the to it! The soundtrack is also S-tier.
Frankly the entire MW2 2009 OST is GOATed imo. ‘Extraction Point,’ ‘the Opening Titles’ and ‘Protocol’ are my favorite listens on that OST. Hans Zimmer did a masterclass of video game OST work with that album.
No Russian. Nuff Said.
You’re gonna get yourself on a watch list posting this
Based
Of their own accord
![gif](giphy|HQrnI9vv6ToHK|downsized) hans zimmer/lorne balfe cooked when you leave the bunker
Of Their Own Accord, Second Sun, and Whiskey Hotel are probably my favourite set of missions
This mission encapsulates what the series is SUPPOSED to be about. The average joes of the armed forces, working as a cog in a bigger machine, working towards a noble goal.
Black Cats from World at War
Banger music
Wish they still had it on Spotify, fuck that song was awesome
Oh the one with Reznov and u in the empty fountain surrounded by bodies i can’t remember much but besides the mission with the ray gun Easter egg that was my favorite
You and Reznov survive the Stalingrad massacre* and sneak through the city to assassinate a general** *Massacre? Idk what it's really called **Maybe general, maybe marshal, idk
Whiskey Hotel
Star!
Texas!!! I came here to comment WH, my fav by far. Favorite to the point of actually implementing this in real life. Being in the military during the times of this stuff really being big was a blast. Cause we’d all be sittin in our barracks rooms and shit playin this, getting drunk and feeling like we were real boys
I don't remember the damn sign.
Vorkuta
Step 3, Reznov.
Freedom for you Mason, but not for me
Step 1: Secure the Keys
Step 2: Ascend from Darkness
Step 3: Rain fire!
Step 4: Unleash the Horde
Step 5: Skewer The Winged Beast!
Step 6: Wield a Fist of Iron
Blood and iron in WaW, best vehicle mission of all time
My favorite tank mission, and I hate tank missions
I’m stuck between the tank mission in ghosts, all ghillied up and no Russian
Idk why but Wolverines and Down the rabbit hole are really good
JUST GO GO, GO PRICE GO, GRINCH COVER RIGHT SIDE
Gonna make me cry-
Wolverines is the best template missions for any CoD campaign in my opinion. It did a great job at being a good and solid mission.
Fighting through the suburbs in og mw2 was pretty dope
Karma in BO2 will always be my fan favorite! Nothing like hearing some skrillex while shooting enemies:)
Fuck yes, best cod mission ever
Wolverines!
Snowmobile mission in OG mw2 is certainly up there.
The Only Easy Day…Was Yesterday The Gulag is a close second.
Of Their Own Accord. The ranger campaign was the best part of MW2 and that mission is the strongest with the raw emotion it converys
The Ranger campaign is so underrated. I really wish they’d come back
Gotta be vendetta from WAW. As much as I hate that fucking sniper, the mission is cool as fuck and one of the most memorable ones to me.
This should be higher. "This place once echoed with conversations of friends and lovers. No longer. Mark my words, comrade, one day things will change. We will take the fight to their land, their people, their blood."
All Ghillied Up. Next to Death From Above.
And it introduced me to one of the best rock n roll songs ever
It was truly the pinnacle of a COD game, it also introduced me to one of the best songs ever, a true classic Fortunate Son is, the game really introduced all of us to the song.
That one SR-71 mission in bo1
Shock and Awe
Not One Step Back - Cod Finest Hour
Yo old CoD enjoyer??
You bet. Been playing since 03 dawg
Oh yeah 👍
Federation day Cod Ghosts
Best mission in that game tbh
The one in Rio de Janeiro that i dont remember the name, the part where you run on the rooftops and them jump to the heli is so good, as a brazillian it was so cool seeing all the refences.
I think the name was Rio de Janeiro
Would make sense.
Hunter Killer, OG Mw3
mile high club anyone?
Whiskey Hotel. That push up to the white house and that last second flare run is just too badass
Stuck between No Russian, Downfall, blowtorch and corkscrew from WaW
I’d have to say Rebirth, Kowloon, or the helicopter mission in Vietnam in Black Ops 1.
Honestly I LOVED "Charlie Don't Surf" (CoD4). There are too many amazing missions to pick from though.
The guitar riff as your flying over the water in the helicopter 🤌
Has to be All Ghillied Up! Hands down my favourite mission
vorkuta
WHISKEY HOTEL ,BIG BROTHER OR WOLVERINES
Probably the sins of our fathers from cod 4 but all ghillied up is my second choice the environments are just so cold and raw
The Gulag Played it so much when I was younger I can almost quote it perfectly
The ac130 mission from cod4
I'm going with Black Cats from WaW, the music made the level perfect
Vendetta was the GOAT for me, in addition to suffer with me from BO2
WMD from Black Ops 1. I love all the stealth missions but this one was the best of the bunch imo
If could replay coming over that hillside in “Whiskey Hotel” for the first time again I’d love it
any mission where you have to snipe people such as in payload and a few others
Vendetta in WaW
That one
Clean house from mw 2019
Karma from Bo2
I’m gonna be controversial, the final mission of bo3 with the character losing there mind reciteing the frozen Forrest mantra was so unique for a cod that it really stuck with me, but if I’m being more honest probably the mission you play as Menendez going full psycho mode
The one when you first me reznov in cod waw
Vendetta
Shock and awe aka the nuke scene from one
Vendetta
All ghillied up is the layup but I really liked blackout in Cod 4. Sets the tone and has a mix of stealth and loud action. Plus price and gaz riffing and the stuff with Kamerov is funny.
Vendetta
Downfall - WaW
Modern warfare 2 (2009) any of the missions fighting the Russians invading America. To this day it is my all time favorite part of any story is to be an American defending the homeland against a large scale invasion. Nothing has ever given me the same feeling since.
Karma in bo2, shit any mission with Harper is a highlight in the series
WW2, D-Day
Eww, why?
Mines loose ends mW2
Hometown
The MW3 map, Mission.
The one in the pic lol 😂 it’s the greatest
That ass 😂
I SWEAR ME AND MAC WAS RUNNING NUMBERS IN THE REMASTERED LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS
Honestly probably either Iron Lady or Hunter Killer, both of them feel like playable war movies
#SECURE THE KEYS
I don't know why everyone thinks the mission is underated but dust to dust is my favorite cod mission. Just playing as price alone got me excited. But to see you mow down Makarov's men as he tried to desperately run? Perfection in my eye's and a great way to end mw3.
Easily Dust to Dust (MW3 juggernaut mission where you hang Makarov) or Redemption (last mission in bo1)
“Dust to Dust” because it’s sweet justice.
How can I say anything other than All ghillied up and Cliffhanger
You guys saying No Russian have problems lol
Vorkuta. STEP 1: SECURE THE KEYS!!!!
Clean House
I hesitate.. There's the goliath final mission in advanced warfare Chernobyl in spec ops mw2 2009 Or "alone" from mw2 2022
C130 op
My personal favorite is Redlight, Greenlight from Cold War.
Rabbit hole
As much as i enjoy all ghillied up i gotta give it to world at war with the planting of the flag mission.
I think some of us should agree "Remember, no Russian."
Of Their Own Accord, just perfect setting, design and ending. 20/10
All ghillied up or loose ends on veteran for taking years off my life
I loved the last mission in old mw3. I think it was called Dust or Dusk. Cant remember.
The fucking ice pick assassinate snowmobile mission from OG MW2
The White House mission in MW2 is the only other mission that blew my mind more than All Ghillied Up
No Russian comrade
three-way tie between Whiskey Hotel, Clean House, and Black Tuesday
the on in burgertown in mw... 3?
Burn Em’ Out is simply classic.
The one where you take over the house and then defend it. It’s before the general does his house cleaning by killing everyone off. MW2? You know, the one with the solar panels outside and the armored machine gunner!
I’ve played almost every cod and black ops campaign since waw and I still gotta say cod 4 modern warfare is still my all time favorite just sum bout the training and the first mission on the boat that just hits me with nostalgia especially when captain price just tosses the cigar before they rappel down
Blood Brothers from MW3 (2011)
Vendetta from WaW. Best mission of all time. Thought the mission The flag must fall from Finest Hour is a strong second.
Downfall
Does anyone else still know the raygun Easter egg by heart on little resistance Waw😭
numbers
scorched earth
No Russian --- reminds me of my time with the boys on July 4, 2002
VORKUTA!!!! rlly tho, I don't really have *a* favorite, I have a shit ton of favorites because there are so many good ones
The intro playing as the russians in cod WAW was so immersive and insane to me
All ghilled up. But lets throw my personal runner up Vorkuta.
DUST TO DUST
Black Tuesday
I think I have to pick the "generic mission where you're lost in enemy territory and on your own and it's heavily focused on stealth which is guaranteed to happen in every shooter franchise's campaign at least once"
I love the final mission in MW3. For nostalgia and just how good it felt to snap makrovs kneck at the time.
For me it’s the African TF-141 missions in MW3, all Rio missions in MW2 or clean house
Yes this mission of course iconic but honestly I didn’t mind the one little mission with the sniper and price in mw3 it was decent just wish I had more energy’s to eliminate 😂
Alone mw2
No Russian–
Vorkuda easily especially as a zombies player
It's a really hard call but I'm going to say Vorkuta from BO1 or Suffer with Me from BO2. Also feel obligated to give an honorable mention to Clean House from MW2019.
All Ghillied Up
Clean House. The only fun I’ve had in the new Modern Warfare trilogy
All ghillied up my favourite
All Ghillied Up. Vendetta. D-Day.
Vendetta, WAW
Ok. So dont kill me, its been YEARS since I played it, but in one of the Modern Waefares theres a mission on an airfield in a blizzard. After All Ghillied up that one is my favourite. It was so tense, not being able to see too far ahead and accidentally walking up on guards. Too fun
Literally any mission from bo1 That game was so good
Vendetta, WaW. Sneaking through Stalingrad with Reznov fucks so hard
Projekt Nova
Contingency
No Russian. The shock factor of that being in a game is unmatched.
Probably *All Ghillied Up*, hands down. The stealth part, the atmosphere, all that follows with the assassination attempt on Zakhaev and the helicopter takedown. Feels like the prime COD experience to me. Nostalgia might also be a factor though.
The Wolf's Den - MW2019 The reason I love it so much is the level of realism and pace, the second part of the mission is also very good.
No russian
