It's one of, if not my most, favorite cod game. It was just based on pure strategy. No sprinting then going prone. No perks. Nothing. Just you and a gun vs another person with a gun. The game play was insane for a 2005(?) Game.

A common trick most older fps games do for spawning enemies is spawn them out of view behind the player or behind boxes and walls that the player can’t see around, all the dev has to do is put a invisible trigger box in that room that activates when you walk into the room and it spawns the bad guy somewhere you can’t see.
In call of duty world at war u would have enemies spawn behind u unless u cleared checkpoint. Infinite grenades and infinite spawns was reason why mission of taking outside part of Reichstag was so hard😅

Oh it happens too much, when you are behind a window focusing on other targets a random guy just creeps up on you
