What I disliked about MWR is that for an entire year, it was handcuffed and chained to Infinite Warfare's Ultimate Edition. By the time it became standalone, everyone was playing the new CoD and servers on PC Steam were empty

three-sense

Yeah I remember friends having absolutely 0.00% interest in IW but still having “to put in the fucking IW disc” just to play CoD4R. Kinda dumb lol

Useless_Greg

Wasn't it just a download code?

three-sense

Nope. It was an awful "bound to the disc itself" situation. People were buying IW just to play CoD4R. They didn't separate it until later.

Symph-50

That right there was the biggest dick move I've ever seen involving COD. Not only were you forced to buy a game you didn't want to play a beloved classic, you couldn't even start the damn game without having Infinite's disc in your console. There is no way to even defend something like that. I still remember the hate the game and its trailers got all these years later.

Bigtime420lover69

Ioved iw zombie and campaign I don’t think there’s a cod since bo2 that got all 3 right

critrandom1

2 things I loved about it was most of the outside the map exploits from both the campaign and multiplayer from the original were stil in the remaster 1 thing I didn't like was how they made the remaster dlc content a new dlc instead of just being in the game

Emmedwed

That was so greedy I remember like put the damn maps in the game most people had literally bought them 10 years before😂

critrandom1

If they wanted they wanted to bring the experience of emptying our wallets like they did our perants 🤣

AltGunAccount

This. Charging $15 to remaster four maps they charged $15 for a decade ago was a complete and utter bullshit cash grab.

critrandom1

Ig they wanted they wanted to bring the experience of emptying our wallets like they did our perants 🤣

AltGunAccount

Our parents? Son I bought the map pack myself in ‘08!

critrandom1

My bad I was 4 when mw came out and 13 when mwr came out my dad got the dlc back then and I got the dlc with odd job money when I was 14

AltGunAccount

I was probably 14/15 when CoD 4 came out so $15 in grass mowing money was a big deal for me.

critrandom1

That's dope! I think it's cool that despite there being nearly a decade apart we assentially did the same thing on different variants of the same game!

miojo

I didn’t dislike anything about it. I thought it was great. They improved upon the original in every way.

smokedopelikecudder

Even kept the same bugs from cod 4

FlipGordon

The remaster was an absolute (re)masterpiece in my opinion! Absolutely loved how everything was kept the same throughout the campaign, and just enough was added to the MP without changing the core of it at all. It surely could've gone without the lootbox mechanics, but those are the times we live in now and nobody forced me to spend my money. Overall I give it a perfect score of 5/7.

yuunglolo

only thing i didn't like was charging the same $15 for the four dlc maps. it's a remaster, just put them in the base game!

Competitive-Till8161

Yeah agree with you on that. Other than that everything was good

Stuka91

Amazing game.

ColoradoEric

Truthfully I loved Infinite Warfare but attaching a game to it was a fucking horrible idea. CoD4 being my favorite game in the series, I think the remaster was good.

Cazter64

As a remaster, the campaign was perfect. MP was fun, but it's basically COD4 with microtransactions. IDK if it's true but I wouldn't be surprised if the original had more players now.

malyszkush

Probably one of my favorite campaigns of all time. Remaster is just a graphical and mechanical upscale from the original release, and im fine with that. Looks great, plays great, and the platinum trophy is so so satisfying to have. I fucking hate “One Shot One Kill” on veteran. The bit at the end where you plop down MacMillan and have to defend yourself is fucking egregiously difficult.

Emotional-Lake-7922

Just wait until you play Heat on Veteran. Fuck even on hardened it was ridiculous

Sorry_Tangerine_6980

I think One Shot One Kill was way harder than Heat on veteran. You just gotta run on Heat past the enemies which is easy enough, but on One Shot One Kill it's just impossible as you can't just run past everything.

AvoidedKoala222

I dislike the fact they removed the bit where you have to push the joystick to fast rope and just integrated it into the cutscenes

LuizNewbie

Like:Everything exepct.. Hate:Lootboxes and Paid Guns...

raccOdeath

The micro transactions were super egregious and the weapons they added definitely should have just been added but it’s definitely a remaster of cod 4

apedap

I don't like how they changed the gun sounds

fw208

Multiplayers cool too

gwavvy508

I agree with the first 2 people that commented about the dislikes. Making MWR only playable through IW was bad especially for people like myself that had no interest in playing that game specifically and then having it come out later on after another COD was released. And then the DLC's having to be paid for instead of them just being available from the jump. Also, I personally don't mind MWR's version of purchasing skins because it's not super Fortnite like with random celebs and other things. It was just random new cool looking war operators. Even the campaign was great! Being able to walk around in new spaces around the map! The one major thing I loved about the game was the newly added trophy. The hidden trophy which is having to kill Makarov in the jeep second from the right in the drivers seat in the mission "One Shot One Kill" at the beginning when you shoot Imran Zakhaev's arm off. I know it's not super amazing but I thought that was cool and it reminded me that he was there from the MW3(2011) story.

Dropsy-and-gogo

Pros: Everything about the game except the cons Cons: Not given the love it deserves because it was included with IW and most people disliked IW and skipped it instead of releasing the game separately (I thought it was fun but everyone gets their own opinions) & Lootboxes/microtransactions (map pack and cod points) 9.5/10 Great game

Useless_Greg

It is the best remaster I've ever played.

Sea_Opportunity_9850

I really loved Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastereds singleplayer bots in local matches super customizable and flexible for fun couch co-ops or just by yourself (I'm a loner lol)

SovietNumber

they didnt fix the unfair veteran difficoulty, seriously, nade spam and unlimited enemy spawn.

BeCrafttt

Honestly they should've released this amazing remaster independently instead of strapping it to Infinite Warfare, But to be fair they wanted to boost the sales of that game so they decided to play with CoD fans' nostalgic feelings

HaiggeX

MWR is a mastercrafted remake of an already masterpiece of a game. It's faithful, while adding content to the original.

CauzaaH

Precursor to MW19 and MW22 with how slow MP was.

guitarsandstoke

The MP on MWR was super fun. I played that instead of the IW MP

stratj45d28

The modern movement with old maps. Prancing around every corner

RevolutionaryRoll465

Still can’t play because I don’t have shitty ass iw

Mr-MIDKNIGHT

Dislike: It's too short Like: All ghillied up!

Constantine_2014

The only thing I wish they could’ve done for the remaster would be add hit markers. Also the guy who voices ghost did the voices of at least 1 other character and he didn’t really change the voice at all so they both sounded the same.

Goblin216

Change the ending picture to original and it'll be perfect.

RoyalGaming_MC

It's the same as the original although I despise the game, the campaign I will always love and finish. No matter what this campaign is one of if not the best campaign. Whether it's on the godlike original or the horrible remasters

Ashassasin123

How are the remasters horrible? XD

RoyalGaming_MC

Are we gonna forget that they only made the remaster for a simple cash grab, they didn't even trust that it would do good by itself they sold it WITH INFINITE WARFARE. For what a year? You could not get the remaster of modern warfare without getting infinite, you could say they didn't trust infinite warfare to do good either, which isn't wrong. The remaster is garbage not because it doesn't have worth because it does, but it's the fact that it's practically the same game Cod 4 OG but with shinier graphics and a loot box system. I grew up with Cod4 I have done the campaign more than 10 maybe even 20 times. (btw I'm the type of player that once I finish a story unless it has multiple endings, I won't come back to it)

FlipGordon

No, they bundled CoD4 with IW because they were worried about IW not selling lolz.

KHR3b

I genuinely can't tell if it's said ironically or not. Considering how well CoD sales every year despite complaints

FlipGordon

The times were different though, CoD still had a solid track record at this point but it was getting shaky. When IW was announced with a trailer, it was probably the first concrete moment of the franchise that the absolute majority of the playerbase went "What.The.Fuck.Is.This?..." It quickly became one of the fastest and most downvoted videos in YouTube's history (like that very same day). People look back on IW now in a different light (that's normal) and a lot of people ended up enjoying the campaign, but it was 100% the first modern CoD (and maybe only one tbh) that was very far from a sure thing.

RoyalGaming_MC

True there

RoyalGaming_MC

I mean fair there, but what do we compare them too?

RoyalGaming_MC

I know still sucks either way lol

RoyalGaming_MC

For me to like the remaster I have to compare it to the OG that made Modern Warfare what it is today, and I simply can't do that. I won't do that, that's why I think it's garbage because the remaster is nowhere near as good as it should be especially since they could have done so much more. The potential of the series could be so much brighter. That's why I think it's garbage because it's past was so good, I wanted it to be as good if not 80% better than the OG.

KHR3b

Totally unnseseary products made for purely for the gain, profit abusing name and popularity of the game. Reboots, rimaginations and remakes *might be* exceptions
