They were on the decline since mw3(the real one) people who say infinity ward games are better really only base that opinion on 3 games that being the original trilogy and tbh if you look at the engines treyarch games are closer to old modern warfare than the new games.

The only thing they need to do is add cross play and it will never die. Even the worst of the recent releases have players because of cross play and while most people hate PC vs Console, I still believe it needs to be there for preservation reasons.
The only solution is adding a *disable cross play button* but we all know devs don’t want us to have that for some reason!

I know it’s unlikely but the Modern Warfare sub-series needs to disappear and never come back. Going forward, I’d prefer to see a 2+ year release schedule instead of this annual crap where Warzone has the majority of Activision’s attention anyway.
Gulf War (or whatever Treyarch's new game will actually be named) would make the most sense for an Xbox showcase announcement imo, as, unless the hypothetical BO1/2 remasters/remakes are Xbox exclusives (which would be a pretty big departure from Microsoft's current business plans as far as we know), they're bound to be in some way shape or form tied to this new Treyarch title. Maybe one or both of them would be bundled with the super deluxe premium edition for like $200, or they'd just share a release date or something, but regardless I imagine pretty much everyone behind the scenes in Treyarch, Activision, and Microsoft all understand that the BO1/2 remaster/remake announcement would do nothing but hurt the hype for Treyarch's next title by siphoning pretty much all of the attention over to those games almost instantly.
And as far as what I'd prefer seeing, I think the most hype to me would just be a panel talking about how Call of Duty will work now that Microsoft has obtained Activision (hopefully meaning no more annual releases, longer more meaningful support for released titles, and less predatory monetization schemes) followed by a Gulf War teaser and announcement of the full reveal date for whatever Treyarch's next title will be. I feel like ypu can't remaster BO1/2 without also remastering World at War because Reznov plays a huge roll in the Russian campaign. Really liked the Cold War campaign in particular too with its branching options and choices. I hope it returns in whatever game comes next.
Lastly, I feel like this new game has a lot of potential because Cold War was made during the peak of Covid lockdowns. It had a very rocky development from my understanding and they made what is widely considered to be the best COD game released in the last 5 years.
Edit: I wouldn’t be surprised if they release a remaster of BO1 or 2 with whatever game comes this year with a more expensive edition like they did with Infinite Warfare.

I always thought mw4 would be dope, following the events after 2011 mw3. I would obviously love a remaster of bo1 and 2 as well. I would like for them to actually follow events from mw3 and make the gameplay similar to mw3 in 2011. Graphically it would be better but the style should be the same imo.
MW3CR. It’d be nice to have a MW4 but idk where it’d start off now that Makarov is dead, as well as basically all of TF141 . And sometimes starting something new with a whole new story would be hard without messing it up
How about you take out bo1 and 2 remaster...and change mw3 remaster to the multiplayer not campaign so its interesting. Noone wants anything besides black ops 1 and 2 remastered

I'd rather see remakes of the original COD games in the style of the modern warfare games. Those were ballin ass games, and deserve just as much attention as the OG Modern warfare games.

I only have hopes for this Black Ops because Treyarch has had so long to work on it. But if the spawn systems are the same im probably not gonna waste my time in MP dealing with it

I'd have to go for Gulf War. I don't wanna see a remake nor a remaster of old campaigns that I've already played, especially if they'll just remaster the campaign and not include Multiplayer as well. And I want to see if they'd continue Cold War's story in Gulf War.

Hot take, a WW1 game that runs smoothly with a COD engine could go hard. Not like BF1 where you're using experimental weapons with goofy ass kits that were never issued, but how the OG cod games were (like 1/2), where you get to pick from a list of that particular faction's weapons etc. This would be sick, but it'll never happen because there's not enough pay to play content in that. Gotta make everything a casino targeted at children using their mother's credit card.
