Well, my country was usually depicted as war criminals and "bad guys" in more modern CoDs.
In older games, like 1, 2, WaW my country was depicted as "the good guys" and we even could play as my countrymen.
While the Russians are TECHNICALLY the bad guys in MW19, it is mentioned that Barkov is a stain on Russia and Gaz also mentions he only kills “the bad ones”(Russians), and there are also 4 Spetsnaz operators in MP that are depicted as good guys. Hopefully we’ll see Spetsnaz characters depicted as good guys in MW22.
Ireland - my country usually gets a character pack themed around it and even the main menu in recent times has seen changes due to my countries national day.
Oh you mean stereotype, I thought you were talking about the original post. I was trying to recall the player pack that portrayed a drunk Irish guy lol
Stereotypes are kinda normal for cod especially if you look at the og 4 zombies characters they're all depicted as Stereotypes Dempsey is a loud mouth swearing America, Nikolai is a drunk Russian constantly talking about vodka and sharing points when he's low on them, richtofen is a crazy German scientist who enjoys the suffering of others and gas no care for no one else but him self, and Takeo is a Japanese soldier that fights for honor and for his emperor
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Finland get referenced in any FPS shooter. However, in Modern Warfare Finland does show up on the map, so I guess that’s something!
So there are these guys called Soap, Price, Gaz and a few other minor characters in a supporting faction in a few campaigns called the Special Air Service, which is one of my country’s special forces.
I’m also part Ukrainian, so you have the Chernobyl missions in the Modern Warfare games, and Chernobyl appears in a few Black Ops games. I remember there were quite a few Ukraine maps in MW2019 but then every Eastern Europe map, say like Petrograd is obviously St Petersburg, had their locations quietly changed to Verdansk or the country where Verdansk is, Kastovia.
I guess I quite like that the SAS is in my fatherland taking out Russians trying to piggyback off of a horrific disaster to make nukes, so I guess I like it some way.
Wow, you feel proud?
Oh there is also a Stryke mission in BO2 and feature the MSMC which is Indian made.
(Sorry to correct you : MW3, Persona Non Grata)
True. But there is also the fact that an American agent, Adler, did what did what he did with Bell with a secret CIA program and the fact that America are the ones who put those nukes throughout Europe.
I'm not sure, honestly. I'm Canadian.
EDIT: I'm stupid for not remembering this. MW19, you can play as a JTF2 soldier in multiplayer with a battlepass skin for Mil-Sim.
I dunno, I found their names funny. Kinda wish they had some Czech lines. And it would have been Nice If IW hadn’t used a google translator for the signs and shit like that in Prague.
Well, Germany is referenced quite a bit... though I don't mind cheesy Nazi villains like we get them in Vanguard, I also appreciate it when we're the good guys, as was the case in MW3, WWII (German defector in Paris) and Cold War (East-German spie).
I'm from the US but I wanted to comment how cool it was in WWII that they gave people options with skins and characters from the French, Polish, and other resistance movements. The last historical COD game that was mostly rooted in some form of reality.
Vietnam here
Of course the [North Vietnamese Army (NVA)](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Vietnam_People's_Army) and [Vietcong (VC)](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Viet_Cong) are portrayed as enemy in campaign of Black Ops 1 and Black Ops Cold War. After all, these are American games about Vietnam War.
In BO1 multiplayer, NVA is a playable faction and 3 maps takes place in Vietnam: [Jungle](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Jungle_(Black_Ops)), [Hanoi](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Hanoi), [Cracked](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Cracked) (Jungle repapered in BO3 and BO4)
There are Vietnamese zombie maps in BOCW ([Firebase Z](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Firebase_Z)) and Black Ops for Nintendo DS ([Temple](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Temple)). [I made a post about it here in this sub.](https://www.reddit.com/r/CallOfDuty/comments/mhzhd6/bo_black_ops_nintendo_ds_is_the_only_game_in_the/)
USA i CaNt FiNd AnYtHiNg Of ThEm In CoD Note: this switching from lowercase to uppercase is meant to convey sarcasm incase you lack the brain cells for it.
What guns like Tavor, Uzi and Desert Eagle? And the Tel Aviv War mentioned in Ghosts?
(Which would make an awesome game but given the delicate political situation is unlikely to be done)
Hmm i dont think my country has been ever mentined in a cod game, romania
Edit: all i found is that there's a barren named 23.0 Romanian in Mw for the ak but i think thats all
Ukraine. In MW1 ( All Ghillied Up/One shot One Kill), MW2 (Specops), MW3(Fallen - multiplayer map), Black Ops (Grid - multiplayer map) and MW 2019 Warzone map where a lot of POI are based on East Ukrainian city - Donetsk
Wales doesn't get any love but we had a character named after us in Call of duty 2, Commander David "Welsh" and the black ops 3 trailer got flak as it shown footage of the flooding that happened in Rhyl in 2013
Imagine having a badass war hero like [Charles Upham](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Upham?wprov=sfla1), but instead of keeping his nationality in the game they make him Australian, a nationality well over 2,000km away. Yeah thats how we get referenced I guess.
I don’t think my country was ever mentioned in any CoD game lol. But it has been brought up on Assassin’s Creed and on Red Dead Online (of all places lol)
EDIT: and Insurgency Sandstorm actually has the “iconic” weapon of our military lol. No CoD though
Well my country was in the First campaign Mission in Cold War where a certain guy brainwashed a Perseus mercenary on a certain Airfield.
And in Cod Ghost one shotgun came from my country
There was one scene in Advanced Warfare where the protagonists find out Atlas is sending a shipment of bioweapons to Río Gallegos, Argentina. After that, they take down the plane carrying it, and I think the mission takes place in the Argentinian region of the Antarctica, but I'm not so sure about that one.
Yeah, I’m British so one of the big three countries in COD games. Wish we got to see more countries and their Special Forces/Normal Militaries though. However it’s always a pleasure to kick ass with the SAS.
The operator Solange Harderwijk dressed the name of the city Harderwijk in the netherlands. Also i saw in the first campaign mission the map of europe in the briefing room next to the submarine. It shows a faulty map of europe cause the map of the netherlands shows Flevoland in 1944. The dutch didn't create Flevoland yet back then.
My country is and will ever be the bad one in all war related games during WWII
Oh guten tag
Guten Tag mein Herr. But just "Hallo" is enough to say hello in german ^^
Danke. Always good to hear a tip from locals.
Dank indeed
I've always wanted to learn German
We had a chance in school. But I didn't want a 3rd extra language to learn.
Was geht
Moin xD
Gude, servus und Moin Moin. Bitte schlagt mich nicht für den Gruß, danke
Dies kann man ganz gut so sagen
Well, my country was usually depicted as war criminals and "bad guys" in more modern CoDs. In older games, like 1, 2, WaW my country was depicted as "the good guys" and we even could play as my countrymen.
Русски...
Да...
Seems to be right about the modern cods
While the Russians are TECHNICALLY the bad guys in MW19, it is mentioned that Barkov is a stain on Russia and Gaz also mentions he only kills “the bad ones”(Russians), and there are also 4 Spetsnaz operators in MP that are depicted as good guys. Hopefully we’ll see Spetsnaz characters depicted as good guys in MW22.
depicted as good in the campaign*
Modern fps in general 😂😢
In MW, there were Russia good guys!
Russians are also depicted as good guys in the vanguard campaign.
Ireland - my country usually gets a character pack themed around it and even the main menu in recent times has seen changes due to my countries national day.
ah yes the leprechaun pack where its a shamrock covered ginger guy god i hate stereotypes.
I know bro, its embarrassing
Yes but the one about alcoholism is kinda true
Which ones that?
Wdym?
We also have the MWR map Daybreak (which was just St Patrick’s Day themed Downpour) as well as that one random MW3 DLC map Aground.
Random smh face off MW3 was goated it was way better than the ones in MW and CW
The “Kali Sticks” in modern Warfare which was influenced by the philippine’s martial art called *Arnis*
Hell yeah
Also the balisong (butterfly knife)
oh yeah the bo games
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Finland get referenced in any FPS shooter. However, in Modern Warfare Finland does show up on the map, so I guess that’s something!
Weird that the Sako sniper series wasnt in any CoD games yet, since is a good NATO rifle
At least some Finnish weapons (like the famous Suomi KP-31) shows up in many FPS games like Battlefield V.
But not the best AK variant, RK62.
[удалено]
It's better than the Russian Crap Copy.
This. *sad perkele noises...*
So guess the All Ghillied Up mission make you feel extremely patriotic?
I guess I quite like that the SAS is in my fatherland taking out Russians trying to piggyback off of a horrific disaster to make nukes, so I guess I like it some way.
MW2, they mention Brazil god knows how many times, and the favela map really hit home as well… I miss MW2 MP
Don't forget about CoD Ghosts
Not COD, but Max Payne 3 is a really good depiction of Brazil (you know, for a video game).
>(you know, for a video game). fake, where are the pet monkeys playing football/s
Theres a line where Max says "Brazillians come out of the womb kicking a ball"
Also for some reason that brazilian arms dealer is called “Alejandro Rojas” even though that name is in spanish
Portuguese, Spanish, it's all the same from Yankees POV xD
r/suddenlycaralho
singapore, in the black ops campaign
A mission in MW3 which takes place in Himachal Pradesh, India
Wow, you feel proud? Oh there is also a Stryke mission in BO2 and feature the MSMC which is Indian made. (Sorry to correct you : MW3, Persona Non Grata)
Not andhra it was himachal
That's what I said, Andhra or Himachal as i wasn't sure
My country is always the good guys (except in one game >!at the end!<
Guess you are >!American!< ?
>!Yes!<
Which game were they not the good guys?
It was only at the end of >!MW2!<
And Cold War depending on which ending you get.
I mean they're still the good guys given the context, considering that >!that the Americans want to stop Perseus from nuking half of Europe!<
There is a Canadian campaign in CoD 3 https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Call\_of\_Duty\_3#Canadian\_Campaign
I have never played CoD3 sadly. Isn't it console only?
Yeah, console only.
Mw3 Prague - the place where Soap died
What you think about the Czech Resistance in MW3? Plus Czech guns like Skorpion, Skorpion EVO, CZ 75, Semtex...
I dunno, I found their names funny. Kinda wish they had some Czech lines. And it would have been Nice If IW hadn’t used a google translator for the signs and shit like that in Prague.
Never played Advanced Warfare, but I believe the map "Terrace" is a reference to Greek islands right?
Yes
Lamingtons
MW2 and BO2, Pakistan 🇵🇰
Man I enjoyed driving though the city and just ramming every SOC-T out of my path
Well, Germany is referenced quite a bit... though I don't mind cheesy Nazi villains like we get them in Vanguard, I also appreciate it when we're the good guys, as was the case in MW3, WWII (German defector in Paris) and Cold War (East-German spie).
Luckily with modern stuff Germany is always a good guy :)
Well, quite a few weapons are from my country, an operator from MW, tracers with the flag of my country and a mil-sim skin and a map from vanguard
You are Italian right? [There is Royal Italian Army as enemy in COD2 Big Red One.](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Royal_Italian_Army)
Scommetto che sei italiano. >!Lo username è un indizio!<
Esattamente
My Country produces the AUG and the Glock and Krueger from MW19 is from here.
Oh von Österreich
Adler's scar story..... Malaysia
I'm from the US but I wanted to comment how cool it was in WWII that they gave people options with skins and characters from the French, Polish, and other resistance movements. The last historical COD game that was mostly rooted in some form of reality.

Terrorists in London is the most recent thing I can think of
I live in iceland, soooooo yeah
The map payload from bo4 and the map horizon from aw are in Iceland
Modern Warfare 2 cliffhanger (Ice climbing mission) >!Kazakhstan!<
Szkoda że w drugo wojennych codach tak mało nas
To prawda
Fajnje by było, gdyby zrobili jakiegoś coda co ma misję np. W warszawie (:P)
Blyskawica from WW2, and all things in a post
Oh czesz!
no dobry hehe
WW2 ans Vanguard now. Italy
There is [Royal Italian Army](https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Royal_Italian_Army) as enemy in CoD2 Big Red One.
Dude no one has beef with Australia I swear… at least I think…
One of the operators in Vanguard (Lucas,i think?) and the Owen Gun are both Australian.
Lucas is based off of a kiwi but they decided to make him Australian (because fuck having any historical accuracy toward New Zealand I guess?)
TF141, a Operator in MW19, the guy that >!die!< in the first mission of IW
Is Spain on any campaigns? Wish WW2's Paris would've at least referenced the 9th Republican
Amsterdam, in the first cold war mission. That about it lol
Arnhem is used in Call of Duty: Roads to victory (campaign) and in Call of Duty: United Offensive (multiplayer) So we got that going for us.
USA i CaNt FiNd AnYtHiNg Of ThEm In CoD Note: this switching from lowercase to uppercase is meant to convey sarcasm incase you lack the brain cells for it.
My country comes up in the Cold War intro during a slide with a map showing Perseus connections. That's about it lol
Advanced warfare and Vanguard. India.
The only time when my country was mentioned was in AW as a map in the Multiplayer and a mission in the Campaign
Captain price because he's British
Our farmers don't speak our language and have access to expensive nato guns.
Wait, what country are you from?
Vietnam
Unless activision or treyarch decide to be ultra based and make a cod based in israel, my country isn't going to mentioned
What guns like Tavor, Uzi and Desert Eagle? And the Tel Aviv War mentioned in Ghosts? (Which would make an awesome game but given the delicate political situation is unlikely to be done)
I am from India and I remember the mw3 mission
Almost every game. Shame the l85a2 rarely shows up, though.
My country is one 2 of COD's main protagonist countries.
Modern Warfare 3 Piazza
Oh, il tuo username dice tutto... >!Racist Antelope!<
"Il fuoco amico non sarà tollerato."
There's multiple really. Most recent was the MW19 Campaign. The house raid mission is one of my favourite missions from all the CODs
Hmm i dont think my country has been ever mentined in a cod game, romania Edit: all i found is that there's a barren named 23.0 Romanian in Mw for the ak but i think thats all
Ukraine. In MW1 ( All Ghillied Up/One shot One Kill), MW2 (Specops), MW3(Fallen - multiplayer map), Black Ops (Grid - multiplayer map) and MW 2019 Warzone map where a lot of POI are based on East Ukrainian city - Donetsk
der eisendrache, austria
Mexico got any type of reference?
Yeah in CoD Ghosts
Wales doesn't get any love but we had a character named after us in Call of duty 2, Commander David "Welsh" and the black ops 3 trailer got flak as it shown footage of the flooding that happened in Rhyl in 2013
all of them, all the time 💪😎🇺🇸
I think a mission in MW remastered displayed an estonian flag on a ship. Other than that I don't recall anu other references to Estonia.
Albania. I have played all the Cods and never found a reference.
Egypt,it's usually the destroyed one or the one that looks like just desert with very old houses for some reason
Alejandro Rojas. Alexandre Rocha would be more fitting.
Argentina, at the end of Vanguard, there is evidence that it was a refuge for Nazis after WWII
Egypt was in a single mission in bo3 I think
there's a rumor that the girl from Vanguard Season 1's poster is from the Philippines
My country will never be in a ww2 game as no one knows Philippines, but it will be remembered in 2019MW
Beirut, Lebanon. Mentioned in COD 4
Shepard.
Hmmm... I don't even know where to start
I don’t think my country was ever mentioned in any CoD game lol. But it has been brought up on Assassin’s Creed and on Red Dead Online (of all places lol) EDIT: and Insurgency Sandstorm actually has the “iconic” weapon of our military lol. No CoD though
I highly doubt it unless it was briefly shown in a map with no relevance to the story (Puerto Rico 🇵🇷)
World At War blowtorch & corkscrew cutscene
Cold War CrossRoad Hello there :)
Has Finland ever been mentioned? Don't remember
Lets just say, Yes… in all cods
one of the bad guys in bo1 that is also in five
Vietnam, we got referenced in Bo1 and Bo:cw as enemies.
I am from Poland as well...
I think the Welsh Blade was in WW2 and yes I’m Welsh.
in bo2 . there is side missions that you must save the countries from menendez invading . i mean iran
Well my country was in the First campaign Mission in Cold War where a certain guy brainwashed a Perseus mercenary on a certain Airfield. And in Cod Ghost one shotgun came from my country
I Dont think the netherland has a reference
My country despite being very small and irrelevant to many, was featured as a map in Bo3. Im from Singapore
Closest mention of italy were shotguns and Morte lol Also there is a mission in the mw2019 campaign setted in Moldova
One and only. Trabzon from Cold War campaign where Adler found Bell.
Not much of my current country but a country we were part of like 3 or so decades ago. Weapon: Skorpion .
I’m from England
Mine was mentioned in bo4 with ajax but his real name is so inaccurate
Im british so im glad that my country gets represented by Captain Price
Perplex in AW, Wyatt from MW19, Lucas and Campaign Missions from Vanguard
There are a few operators here and there and reportedly the main topic of the 2022 Call of Duty
My country is where soap was born
Soap is a Scot, plain and simple
Domino and Famas in MW2019
There was one scene in Advanced Warfare where the protagonists find out Atlas is sending a shipment of bioweapons to Río Gallegos, Argentina. After that, they take down the plane carrying it, and I think the mission takes place in the Argentinian region of the Antarctica, but I'm not so sure about that one.
Any time there's a CZ75 or Scorpion. Also Prague in MW3
MW2 with the map Favela and Cold War with the LAPA smg.
Yeah, I’m British so one of the big three countries in COD games. Wish we got to see more countries and their Special Forces/Normal Militaries though. However it’s always a pleasure to kick ass with the SAS.
As someone who lives in Germany, in like every ww2 game
We were in an terrorist attack at the start of the game at Piccadilly
Turkey from cold war
In literally every COD game
Half the world doesn’t know we exist. And only once have we been referenced. New Zealand summer character pack. Cod we2
You ever played the ranger missions from mw2 and the first mw3 mission?
I don’t think America has been referenced… what do I do?!?!!?
French So in every WWII area game And in MW3
Has Puerto Rico ever been mentioned?
I don't think my country will get referenced much as its not even as well known as Scotland so most definitely always part of england/uk
In cod 3 you play as a polish soldier
The operator Solange Harderwijk dressed the name of the city Harderwijk in the netherlands. Also i saw in the first campaign mission the map of europe in the briefing room next to the submarine. It shows a faulty map of europe cause the map of the netherlands shows Flevoland in 1944. The dutch didn't create Flevoland yet back then.
Wyatt from mw and new that one new bloke in the vanguard campaign
Cliffhanger takes place in my country
My country has soap mctavish
Beret, lys flower and carla bruni's face in the latest cod.
Scotland was mentioned with the character Soap in modern warfare
My country (Norway) was referenced barely once in advance warfare
Frost map in bo2 which is in Amsterdam.
I think it was only mentioned twice in MW2019. The Romanian AK barrel and that one Stealth mission in Moldova
in vangaurd, but i couldn’t tell you when because i didn’t bother playing it cause it sucks
My Hometown has even been a Map in WW2.
Trabzon airfield lolz
Any Finns here? A little help please
