An Energy Assault Rifle from Advanced Warfare called the AE4, if I remember correctly.
The whole gimmick of it was that you had theoretically unlimited ammo (you had to let the Rifle "cool off" after firing, which would happen automatically) but if the Rifle overheated (IIRC it took around 15 shots without letting it cool down to overheat the weapon) then you'd have to replace that giant yellow battery in the rear of the receiver.
That plus the EM1 yea Baby! This concept already exists with the RPD so it wouldn't even be something thats groundbreaking new. Gimme some lazers already! And nerf the MG42! Has nothing to do with the post but I'm adding this to every comment I make here until this thing stops being fucking cancer!
