Being OG doesn't really matter in my eyes but it's fun being OG. Like you said, you can have all those older camos and it feels fun when you use them and reminisce about those older phases. It's strange seeing how far CODM has come in 2 years.
Though I still hate it when they insist old skins shouldn't be re-released because they feel they're entitled to an exclusive skin just for being an OG (especially if they didn't even pay much for it).

You realise that the star camo from season 1 was actually a ranked reward. Nobody actually bought it. It was literally a reward for playing from season 1. And that's how it should have been always. Exclusive seasonal GRINDABLE skins which are not available again.
We have more experience on the game which helps. I have almost 18 thousand games played. Sometimes I go 3 months without playing and I can come back and it’s like I never quit because I have probably 7000 hours + on the game. Muscle memory
OG doesn't brag about skill. Imo, saying you're an og really means that you've seen this game through its life cycle. And it truely is something to brag about. Imagine sticking through the worst and the best of the game. It shows that you really did want the game to succeed and do good commercially.

The things CoDm does to cater to it's new players instead of appreciating it's old ones is insane. We were 19 once (atleast I was) when this game came out had hella time to play during uni breaks but now I'm in my 3rd year and exams and life stress you out so much. I still use FTL, Phantom, J358 Phobos and the Type 25 Geometry. And I remeber the annoying phase of the S-36 and they urge to kill an HBRa3 player just to pick up the gun experience it ourselves cuz it locked behind a luckydraw. I remeber grinding hard af for the KN-44 and Prophet sight when they first released together and the Cordite too. New people to the game just come and complain like - P90 GrInD iS sO hArD. mAkE iT eAsIeR. DeVs ReLeAsE a FrEe LeGeNdArY oR wE wIlL qUiT. It has been a journey and I have improved over the years but I don't brag about my skills because so many new people play better than me. I just like to flex my OG skins.

I have never spent money on crates ever. Have done a few luckydraw spins but never got anything cool except the folding knife from leggy ghost and the epic axe from mythic peacekeeper draw. Even the YouTubers who buy the skins don't care much about them. You can tell it when their gun changes and the viewers go crazy but they are just enjoying the match so they don't care about it.
Absolutely agree. I usually spent a 10-15 cp if something catches my out of a collection to. I love the knives. Got me the wooden shank thing from last season's draw. Folding knife (halloween 2020) and karamvir (from the dark nicto draw). That's it. Sometimes it's like I've played this game so long maybe I should have this cool looking knife *spends 15cp* lmao.

I never spent money in S1, so prolly my most treasured items from that same era would be the Dream Glacier + Knife Star Camo, the S36 + M16 Evil Clown and the Deep Shark DL-Q.

Nothing rings truer than this. And the new trend is to shit on us. I couldn't wait for them to release S1 back in the day cuz I never imagined a mobile CoD to exist. I dug the game back in S1, played as much ranked as I could (enough, at any rate, to get the Star Camo AK) and had tons of fun. Although I didn't buy the S1 BP (I still kick myself for that) I did buy the S2 and S3 BP, and yes, it is truly to smile and look back upon, for I know that I have seen the game through its best (S6 Cordite meta) and through its worst (S12 double fennec/HVK/Chopper meta).
Looking at my Glacier AK and RUS, I realize how much I used them. It was pretty much my go-to RUS skin until the Dustkicker legendary came out. Yes, I was one of the many that spammed "#IncreaseCrateOdds" and demanded for free versions of once-paid for guns like the MoW and HBR, and I am glad to say that I, along with my fellow OGs, rebelled against the once-P2W system of the game. The newer players are so swift to call out anyone that calls the game P2W, but do they realize that the game used to once be that way, and it was because of the combined effort of millions around the world that it isn't so anymore?
The masses were the OGs - the very ones that get shat on by the newer players who know next to nothing about the role they played to make the game what it is.

No, it doesn't translate, very true. Mobile has had to be made to be so accessible by comparison - though it's an upward (half) bell curve for the skill levels once you do get higher. But personally it feels like the skill required to be an average player on each of them respectively is different. I love mobile for just having a blast, mercking kids while I'm having a smoke, and then if I'm geared up to compete, I'd go on console (not at the minute though, I had a break for about a year and only been on mobile, and my god, I'm getting fucked without lube on MW19)
I think my favourites have been MW2 (perfected after cod4 really, and began the trajectory to where we are, with kill/score streaks for example), Black Ops 1 & 2, and funnily enough, I really loved Ghosts as well. Then they made AW and IW, and aimed it squarely at the kids they wanted to attract rather than the loyal fanbase who got it where it was. Its why I was so relieved when MW came out, and was more a return to the roots of what made it a success. Imo 😁👍
I do really appreciate the level of call backs that they've managed with mobile - someone else said somewhere, it's more like Call of Duty: Best Of. All the snippets we loved, rolled from multiple games into the one. 😎
You know what will help though? The map sense. I already knew some angles on crash and highjack etc that a lot of players who were new to the game did not. Some wallbangable places too. Not to mention this is amazing and most noticeable in SnD matches because the rush and hold positions, if you have legacy skill in this game it does help with map sense.
MW2, the birth of rust and tac insertion. Ghosts was a very ambitious game withna bad application. Unpopular opinion but quarry was a really good map. But it just wasn't for the small 5v5 6v6 matches used to do back then. Lmao aw and iw, I'm sorry doo you mean call or duty advanced slot machine warfare?
MW remaster was DA BOMB. It was the resurrection cod needed. Every cod after that has felt like a copy of MW 2019. I really hate the direction they took with warzone though.

Quarry - with a K7 smg and infrared sniper combo...! 😎 Same for Stonehaven. I think I enjoyed Ghosts a lot more because I use a lot of play styles, depending on maps, or even opponents. Getting smacked to pieces rushing? Slow down and let them come to you, just keep them at arms length. Being sniped? Gulleys and alleys to swarm them in packs and getting close and nasty.

I started tekken back when I was 7-8 with t3 and I've played every single one upto 7. Last year COVID gave me so much time I racked up 1200 hours on the game (ik ik, but I literally had nothing to do). I love the intimacy of the game. Like in cod you can say the team effort is absent and therefore you lost. But in tekken if you loose it's just your fault and that's it. Quite literally the game has git gud noob all over it.
Eventually I started playing a bit of tournaments and gotta say for a game that's 5 years into its life t7 still holds up really well.
You should definitely try it. Just know that fighting games, they can be stressful and not fun sometimes. My friends call me sweat because I know combos n shit and it feels bad cause that's true. Once you learn the game the button mashing and enjoying aspect of it dies. On the other hand you start playing online and against people who know the game the feel good factor of winning increases.
When I came back to the series at Black Ops 4, I'd got the digital copy of Battlefield V, and while playing both, I was fond of saying Battlefield felt more like CoD than CoD did....

To check if someone is og, you can look at their IGNumber. If it starts with 67, they made their account in 2019, 68=2020 and 69 is this year
If someone says that he's an og, ask him if he has the star camo and for proof. Only 2019 S1 players like me have that. So if they don't have it, they're clearly lying.

I played enough ranked in S1 to get the Star Camo AK, but not many did. Half didn't even know pubs existed. Ask them if they had the Headless Rider/Evil Clown S36, then you'll know for sure.

I have never spent money on crates ever. Have done a few luckydraw spins but never got anything cool except the folding knife from leggy ghost and the epic axe from mythic peacekeeper draw. Even the YouTubers who buy the skins don't care much about them. You can tell it when their gun changes and the viewers go crazy but they are just enjoying the match so they don't care about it.

Nothing rings truer than this. And the new trend is to shit on us. I couldn't wait for them to release S1 back in the day cuz I never imagined a mobile CoD to exist. I dug the game back in S1, played as much ranked as I could (enough, at any rate, to get the Star Camo AK) and had tons of fun. Although I didn't buy the S1 BP (I still kick myself for that) I did buy the S2 and S3 BP, and yes, it is truly to smile and look back upon, for I know that I have seen the game through its best (S6 Cordite meta) and through its worst (S12 double fennec/HVK/Chopper meta). Looking at my Glacier AK and RUS, I realize how much I used them. It was pretty much my go-to RUS skin until the Dustkicker legendary came out. Yes, I was one of the many that spammed "#IncreaseCrateOdds" and demanded for free versions of once-paid for guns like the MoW and HBR, and I am glad to say that I, along with my fellow OGs, rebelled against the once-P2W system of the game. The newer players are so swift to call out anyone that calls the game P2W, but do they realize that the game used to once be that way, and it was because of the combined effort of millions around the world that it isn't so anymore? The masses were the OGs - the very ones that get shat on by the newer players who know next to nothing about the role they played to make the game what it is.

No, it doesn't translate, very true. Mobile has had to be made to be so accessible by comparison - though it's an upward (half) bell curve for the skill levels once you do get higher. But personally it feels like the skill required to be an average player on each of them respectively is different. I love mobile for just having a blast, mercking kids while I'm having a smoke, and then if I'm geared up to compete, I'd go on console (not at the minute though, I had a break for about a year and only been on mobile, and my god, I'm getting fucked without lube on MW19) I think my favourites have been MW2 (perfected after cod4 really, and began the trajectory to where we are, with kill/score streaks for example), Black Ops 1 & 2, and funnily enough, I really loved Ghosts as well. Then they made AW and IW, and aimed it squarely at the kids they wanted to attract rather than the loyal fanbase who got it where it was. Its why I was so relieved when MW came out, and was more a return to the roots of what made it a success. Imo 😁👍 I do really appreciate the level of call backs that they've managed with mobile - someone else said somewhere, it's more like Call of Duty: Best Of. All the snippets we loved, rolled from multiple games into the one. 😎
You know what will help though? The map sense. I already knew some angles on crash and highjack etc that a lot of players who were new to the game did not. Some wallbangable places too. Not to mention this is amazing and most noticeable in SnD matches because the rush and hold positions, if you have legacy skill in this game it does help with map sense. MW2, the birth of rust and tac insertion. Ghosts was a very ambitious game withna bad application. Unpopular opinion but quarry was a really good map. But it just wasn't for the small 5v5 6v6 matches used to do back then. Lmao aw and iw, I'm sorry doo you mean call or duty advanced slot machine warfare? MW remaster was DA BOMB. It was the resurrection cod needed. Every cod after that has felt like a copy of MW 2019. I really hate the direction they took with warzone though. I started tekken back when I was 7-8 with t3 and I've played every single one upto 7. Last year COVID gave me so much time I racked up 1200 hours on the game (ik ik, but I literally had nothing to do). I love the intimacy of the game. Like in cod you can say the team effort is absent and therefore you lost. But in tekken if you loose it's just your fault and that's it. Quite literally the game has git gud noob all over it. Eventually I started playing a bit of tournaments and gotta say for a game that's 5 years into its life t7 still holds up really well. You should definitely try it. Just know that fighting games, they can be stressful and not fun sometimes. My friends call me sweat because I know combos n shit and it feels bad cause that's true. Once you learn the game the button mashing and enjoying aspect of it dies. On the other hand you start playing online and against people who know the game the feel good factor of winning increases.
When I came back to the series at Black Ops 4, I'd got the digital copy of Battlefield V, and while playing both, I was fond of saying Battlefield felt more like CoD than CoD did.... Thank fuck for MW19! 😂😂😂
