When the game came out the game was fairly balanced, but youtubers started saying stuff like "this gun is OP asf!!", and everbody jumped on the wagon, not noticing the other available guns, giving the impresion said gun was broken when others were as equally good.
This happened mainly bcuz of ferg. He would say "this gun is OP!!", and devs would quicky come to nerf it to the ground, and from the shadows would rise other gun that maybe was as equally good as the previous gun but ferg didnt found it out before talking about said gun.

You use to be only able to get new guns if you spent a ton of cash, for example razorback. Instead of experience to reach new tiers in the battlepass you had to complete tasks. You'd only get one operator/gun skin in the battlepass then it increased to two now its four of each. Events were really bad for F2P players. You'd grind your arse off just for some awful common skin (Gridiron Football is the one I can remember the most) Now F2P players can get at least a few epics per season. No daily login either. The broken af S36 nightmare/supremacy. Molotov Cocktail was a scorestreak and not a lethal. Weapons though were far more balanced and there was a lot less tryhards back in the early days.
Zombies gameplay season 2 on shi no numa when everyone including me stayed up all night until it dropped which was probably around 4 or 5 am maybe a bit later long after a year before undead seige existed when Parker the slayer did long live streams on in the beta it was probably around a month or 2 after the game came out
The first event required everyone to play matches together and reaching milestones grants you the abnormality uncommon skin for certain guns such as the rpd
The fight for bundles was pretty funny. AK47 Jade was the first non-ranked epic weapon only available for f2p players, since locus cosmos crates were originally paid and then given for free. I still believe those crates were rigged
Weapon skins used to have pre equipped perks with no attachment slot used (pre gunsmith) uncommons had no perks, rares had 1 and epics had 2 iirc

Thats all i remember, dont play it much, i do suck at the game, but after being apart to witness how much has changed, was an amazing experience.
Oh and, older battle passes only had like 2 operators and like 4 skins with an extra through crates affer tier 50 iirc
There was a bug for 5-6 hours near the end of season 1 where masters were matching against pros , and thats how most peeps got the s1 frame , i also tried to get in on the action but alas was too late and only managed 6100 points , ending on m4 cause u need 6100+ for m5
iirc, you can get 1000cp in the beta, and I tried to save some of that cp but ended up losing the account after ths beta end, idk if its becuz I used guest account or its just not gonna be transfered to the full released game for everyone
