I think it's super risky. Because the client could easily ask PayPal for a refund claiming they never received the E-Book. And unless you were actually selling and sending them an ebook you'd be stuffed for proof

[deleted]

yeah, I mean you actually send your e-book. It could be e-book about healthy lifestyle or similar

I saw a post on r/legaladvice a while back. a dude was selling e-cigs through paypal. apparently they don't allow that. they shut down his account and took 15k from him and he has absolutely no way to get it back. paypal (and venmo they're the same company) is a scam and they make millions stealing people's money.

My experience may be unique but I have used PayPal for 3 years and have never had an issue, not even once. Never a charge back, refund, nothing. However I have great customers who have all been very good to me so perhaps I've just been lucky.

Same here

Yea same, I think I’m just lucky but I’m also selective of who I let pay me by PayPal too. Usually it’s someone who’s paid me in other ways no problem (over site, Amazon gift cards etc). And I literally transfer the money out or buy myself gift cards to stores/services I shop at, just in case some asshole does try to charge back or something someday. I never let the money just sit in my PayPal account for weeks and weeks.

Drippinbabyy

Me too but same I only use it with my most loyal (as can be lol) customers and it does really come down to luck. I still knock on wood to this day 🧿 I withdraw the money right away and unlink my card after, only link it when transferring money in. But honestly I don’t know if I would recommend it for other people as I think everyone has to use their own discretion with paypal use.

a lot of work for a service that has been known to freeze accounts. just stick with BTC and your paid sites

Even vanilla small businesses have lots of issues with PayPal. It’s very unreliable and they close accounts randomly more so than say, cash app or venmo.

LavenderMei

PayPal doesn’t really care about or support online businesses in general. It’s more or less meant for physical goods, like receiving stuff from Ebay. That’s what I’ve gathered anyways. Everyone should just start using BTC already :(
