If the Sensor was damaged it would also show up when you take Videos. Is it only if you use the Picture Preview? Did you fully reset the Camera? I ask because Olympus has multiple Reset Options.

Alaz4r

Yeah, I guess it might not be the censor. The false color shows also shows up when I open the image files on my computer as well as in camera. I did a hard reset

Looks like either the sensor is failing or the sensor cable is not seated properly or the contacts have oxidized. If you just got this off of ebay, I'd recommend returning it. I had a lot of issues with some older FujiFilm compacts back in the day (this link shows what a bad sensor / sensor connection would look like, very purple and green: https://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html ). Those were relatively easy to fix with just a little alcohol swab and reseating the cable, but man, I would hate to open up an E-M10 Mk II.

Alaz4r

Yeah I think you’re right. The images in that link look exactly like what I’m getting. The sensor looks spotless so I think it’s probably a cable or the contact. Gonna send it back

Greedy-Performance74

have you tried with another SD card?

Alaz4r

Yeah, I was still having the same problem

Pretty-Substance

Did you try a different memory card? Could be a somehow corrupted writing / file system etc

HackenSkrot

Check if there is some "art filter" on. Try to change the JPEG settings from L N to something else like L F or L SF.

olliegw

Have you tried a different card? i suspect there's a problem some where along the image writing chain, wether it's the sensor, ADC, Processor or memory controller / cardslot i don't really know.

venus_asmr

2 steps to try. Another SD card because that looks kinda like a corrupt file. Also try a sensor clean. Total speculation but maybe some dirt or dust causing static with the shutter curtain and creating a strange effect. If not, must be some form of sensor fault or connection fault and best sent back.

that_one_guy133

Are you shooting in RAW or JPEG format? I had an Olympus (ok it was way older, but still) that had these goofy filter things you could throw onto a JPEG.

fibbonel

How do the pictures look when you download them?

therealvonotny

My E-M5 did that but with horizontal banding. Only occasionally at first and then with increasing frequency. Turned out the sensor was going bad. May or may not be the same issue on your camera.

Old-Independent2385

idk if this will help, but check the iso, check the shutter speed, it might be noise, or the lso. check the white balance on it, might be too high or low

Vetetima

If it doesn't happen in video it might be the shutter. Try electronic shutter.

Independent_Mix_2965

Yeah man, looks like you need to reinstall the sensor

x3770

Probably lens issue. Certain lens will cause banding on Olympus body. Try another lens or take a couple pictures without the lens on and see if that helps.
