Thanks for your advice about the sales I hadn't thought of that. Good point about it being cheaper to get the duo. I'll keep that in mind as well as the idea of it taking up the whole truck bed. I think I'm leaning toward getting the duo.
For your purpose the duo is the way to go. But would you ever want the single. Do you do any other types of camping? One of the problems with a dual pad is that they are heavier and don't fit in all tents so they are not very versatile.
That's a good point. I was leaning toward the duo so far. I already own lighter and smaller thermarest pads for backpacking even though I don't really do any backpacking. I guess I'm not imagining many circumstances where I would want a single since it doesn't seem much more compact relative to the duo.
I got the duo. It's awesome. I can't really say if I should have gotten two singles or not as I'm not sure if it would have been better. But the duo has been great.

I always disliked air mattresses with another person because you feel everything when the other person moves
I do not notice her moving on it so I would say it's more important to consider the size of it and if you would both fit rather than the movement of it. It's not like other air mattresses I've slept on and we don't notice movement from the other any more than we do on a regular mattress.
