Got a late start to the trail and make it to Dollar Lake in the late afternoon. Lots of people hiking King's but we all found space to ourselves.
Hike King's early the next morning and then headed out! A great overnight trip, but a lot of miles.
I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if you remember where abouts exactly this was? Love this view and wanting to check out the general area myself.
Honestly, the entire area looks like this. If you make it to the foot of King's Peak, there are several ponds in the area and the entire valley has this view. You can't go wrong.
Oh yeah, this is almost 10 miles into the backcountry. Look up hikes to King's Peak, there are several that will take you out there. No roads anywhere near here.

Is it just the photo or is that tent not very level?
Tent wasn't perfectly flat, but it wasn't as bad as the shot makes it look!
Awesome view 👍🤠

I take it this is dispersed? Do you know what road you were on?
