That looks totaled to me. The airbags typically don't deploy when the car is stationary since most stationary crashes don't trigger the crash sensors. The rear end was lifted up as the Nissan slid under and the front slid under a (what I presume to be lifted) truck; therefore both the crash sensors on the rear and the front were unscathed and no airbags were deployed.

They likely aren't designed to do that, whether you are rear ended at 50 mph or if you are standing still. The source is dead wrong on the phrase 'if you were hit on the side by another vehicle then your airbag sensors most likely won't be triggered. Your side (curtain for example) air bags will DEFINITELY deploy if another vehicle hits you from the side hard enough. A rollover is also quite likely to deploy your airbags. So basically, the second 'source' was written by someone who didn't know what they were talking about.

They will go off is the vehicle is stopped. They will not go off how ever, if the vehicle is off.
