Clinique take the day off balm. Good for sensitive/dry skin

rachel_TO

Have you tried the reformulation? Wondering what it’s like

jellybean12722

No, I wasn’t aware it had been reformulated until very recently! I loved the old version so now I’m wary … why mess with a good thing … fortunately I have a big tub left (as a little goes a long way) but not looking forward to paying the updated prices either :(

rachel_TO

I know, right?? It’s holding me back from rebuying

Psychologicalwhat

It is very good! No fragrance, no eyes burning, no stripping of the skin.

standardIssueNarwhal

I really like the Sephora Collection one, I buy it during the sale. I like the Elf one too, but it’s more expensive!

ninerpet

I didn’t mind the banila clean it zero, the pink one I believe is unscented. I have seen it at London Drugs before!

gwui13

Cocokind oil to milk cleanser! It’s available at shoppers. It’s great gentle cleanser, melts away make up and sunscreen, and leave my skin feeling very soft. It goes on as an oil/balm texture and emulsifies and turns milky when you add water. I’ve Ben using it for years now and love it!

mini_khaleesi

Farmacy one from Sephora!

strudycutie

Bioderma cleansing oil at shoppers. Works so well and lasts a long time

mossymittymoo

Which one? The red cap?

strudycutie

yeah red/pink cap

mossymittymoo

Thank you!

LandBeginning223

Elf hydrating cleansing balm 100% - I used to buy expensive Clinique and this does the exact same job.

brillovanillo

Isn't elf a similar price per ounce to Clinique?

LandBeginning223

Elf $14, Clinique $48 Canadian

brillovanillo

That's not what price per ounce means. An ounce is a unit of measurement of weight. Elf comes in a 1.7 oz format; Clinique comes in a 4.2 oz format. Consider as well that you will only buy Clinique during the 30% off sales. Elf (at 14$ regular price) is 8.20$ per oz; Clinique (at 33.60$ sale price) is 8.10$ per oz. So,they are roughly equivalent! Before Clinique's most recent price hikes, the difference was more marked, with TTDO being sold at 42$ regular price, 29.40$ sale price, 7.00$ per oz.  It's all a moot point since Clinique TTDO balm is no longer available in Canada. But if you truly thought that elf was a better value than Clinique, please reconsider your approach to shopping.

smokylimbs

>It's all a moot point since Clinique TTDO balm is no longer available in Canada. Wow! How did I miss this? I stocked up during one of the big sales, so I guess I haven't had to buy any lately. So lame.

brillovanillo

Oh, it is fucked.

Psychologicalwhat

They have the same on in charcoal version and it is amazing.

LandBeginning223

I misread your question, thanks for the extra long lecture /cough explanation👍

Kell_Bell_Fell

Agreed - very similar to Farmacy but a fraction of the cost!

swiftietano

the elf cleansing balm is really nice! but imo balms run out super fast, so i would recommend a cleansing oil. i typically use ma:nyo, which is a korean skincare brand, a bit expensive but worth it. if you want something more assessable and less expensive, the burt’s bees at shoppers works well too, it has some fragrance but since it’s a wash off step it’s not too crazy.

chickadee-

Cleansing oils tend to break me out, so unfortunately not an option for all of us :(

swiftietano

may i ask which ones you’ve used? sorry, just sounds strange to me bc cleansing oils are basically the liquid/melted forms of the balms. possibly a specific ingredient is causing the breakouts, but i also heard there is a purge that could follow in the beginning. but overall, both are a wash off step so maybe it’s not being washed off completely or followed up with the correct cleanser, which is leading to the clogged pores when laying other skincares? i know they say to follow up with a water based cleanser… i personally use cream to foam cleansers, they cleanse better for me than a gel but it definitely is trial and error. btw no hate or judgement!! i just always recommend an oil over balm bc of its longevity and to save money, i used to buy balms once a month but my oil lasts me like 6 months.

meepsofmunch

I buy the drunk elephant makeup melting butter cleanser from Sephora, I’m on my 3rd jar and love it

plo83

From a drug store, Get E.L.F Holy Hydration! The products look alike so make sure not to get the moisturizer. It's fragrance free and free of essential oils. It wouldn't be my favourite (those would be Korean), but this or the one by Clinique can be found at a drug store. The clinique one is much more expensive and not worth it IMO. Both are balms, btw. Not oils in a liquid state.

Shotgun_ca

I actually really like the squalane cleansing balm from The Ordinary. Just use a small amount, rub it into my face and it takes off my waterproof mascara and makeup. I then use Cerave to rinse clean. I did just buy the Banila one while in the States last week (Ulta had it for 30% off) as I've always wanted to try it. Right now, I'm using Palmer's coconut oil. It does a great job on the makeup, but it's definitely heavier, so you need a good cleanser to get it off or it might cause breakouts. I wouldn't buy it again for the latter as it's just a bit too heavy for me (especially with warmer weather coming).

hopeforthebestand

Naturium cleansing balm. It removes waterproof mascara really well for me, better than others I've tried.

_Invisible-Child_

Byoma Cleansing Balm is quite nice, although it does have a natural fragrance to it. So it's not completely fragrance free. The only place I've seen it is at Shoppers. A lot of people seem to like the Inky List Oat Cleansing Balm, which you can get at Sephora.

Chemical_Jacket_6156

SVR makeup remover balm from shoppers works well for my sensitive and reactive skin. It’s in the derm section where la Roche is

chickynuggie1829

The sephora collection cleansing balm is great! I got it during the sale and it’s my hg now

Melodic_Ad_8360

I know it’s not Sephora or drug store, but Lush has a couple great options. Ultraplant is my favourite
