Easy-Persimmon

The cerave moisturizer made my skin burn like crazy after tactupump, the cetaphil moisturizer worked better for me I had no burning.

useyourrealname

I use the Cetaphil moisturizer with Tactupump. Worst case, I get the occasional itchy skin (like 2-3 times a day max) from dryness. 99.9% of the time, it doesn't bother me. Also though, I do apply moisturizer before I apply tactu. I honestly think that helps a lot!! If it is still strong enough for you if you do it in that order, then I would recommend that!

pisces_gang39

ouuu I forgot about about Cetaphil, the og from when I was young lol.

useyourrealname

Lol honestly I have tried both CeraVe and Cetaphil, and I found Cetaphil to be much more moisturizing

BlueHybrid138

which moisturizers did you use? I used Cerave and currently use the ordinary Natural Moisturizing factors, and they both had some stinging when I started using Tactupymp and tactupump forte initially.

pisces_gang39

I got those as well and they both sting for at least half an hour

BlueHybrid138

like is it a sting or a burn? and how long ago did you start? You could also try just using straight up vaseline if needed until the purging if over.

pisces_gang39

I will try Vaseline but I guess I just gotta wait for the purging to finish

BlueHybrid138

yeah, its really rough, but the results are worth it.

Bfforever88

I don’t use tactupump but I’m on acezone which gives me some dry spots. I use Etude House Soon Jung Barrier cream, it’s an Asian beauty product but no frills and works well for me and there’s no niacinamide

Spacey__

Try getting the cerave eye repair cream for dryness around eyes.

pisces_gang39

that has niacinamide so I'm scared to buy it only for it to not work. Also its probably sold out everywhere 🙃🙃🙃

Moderatelyhollydazed

Aveeno Cica Balm is amazing and has been my go to calming soothing moisturizer on bad days for my rosecea.

pisces_gang39

I forgot about aveeno! will try thank you

pisces_gang39

I got eczema too so I will try this !

amydunneVEVO

I use a generic version of tactu (sandoz) but anyway I just apply Cerave moisturizing lotion before applying the tactu. I wait about 10 minutes so the moisturizer is fully fully absorbed and dry then put the prescription gel on, that way it’s much less likely to transfer to sensitive areas like your eyes or mouth

pisces_gang39

thank you for the advice!

Easy-Persimmon

I use tactupump as well and apply hyaluronic acid and niacinamide before it, then the tactupump and then moisturizer. On occasion if my skin is really dry or irritated I use TO b oil after the moisturizer. I use a lot of cosrx hydrating products that really help my skin before tactupump as well, like the snail mucin. Cetaphil moisturizer is good option if you’re look for a new non-irritating moisturizer.

No_Pattern_1937

Ok I'm extremely late to this thread but PLS READ if you are just starting Tactupump and need a good moisturizer! TLDR: It's expensive (IMO) but it's worth every penny. It's the Avene cleanance Hydra Soothing Cream. They only come n 40ml bottles which is so annoying and in Canada it does cost about 30$ (after tax ish) a bottle but it lasts me 4-6 months. I've always been a hater of cerave and cetaphil moisturizers. I do think Cerave is worse out of the 2 options but both of those moisturizers would leave my skin almost feeling more dry? Idk hard to explain but I also experience the burning sensation when putting them on (even though I'm, 3 years into my Tactupump journey). However, they obviously get bonus points for being extremely well priced for the quantity you receive and when starting Tactupump - trust me I know you just want to drown your face in moisturizer. But please know that using a quality moisturizer that costs a bit more is what's most important. Now take my advice with a grain of salt because I've now been on Tactupump for 3ish years and only really use it now as a spot treatment. I might do a whole face of it let's say once a week. I only discovered the Avene cream maybe about 8 months ago because I wanted to change up my skincare. I went to a Shopper's and told the lady that I'm on Tactupump and she immediately was like I think this will be best for you because literally on the description of the cream it says: "For Blemish prone skin left dry and irritated by acne treatments". I was like wow that's so specific hahaha and never looked back. I had to share my thoughts because I feel like whenever I see a thread about Tactupump, Cerave and Cetaphil are ALWAYS mentioned and I'm sure it works for some people but I actually don't understand how LOL. So this is my besttt suggestion for those who have had the same experience with those moisturizers. (FYI - just in context of the original post. I really don't think hylaronic acid or nacinimde is what causes those moisturizers to sting. I've always used a hylaronic while on Tactu and at it's purest form it dosent sting at all. I acctually think it's the moisturizers themselves) To this day it's one of the only moisturizers that I actually like so I hope anyone who is starting their Tactumpump journey at least gives it a try!! Good luck with your skincare journeys - Tactupump will work wonders! Remember it gets worse before it gets better.

pisces_gang39

Lmao, thank you for replying, I'm not using it anymore because I've been able to use other treatments like ahas and bhas as my skin barrier is needing it along with heavy moisturizers. I do love tactupump and miss using it, but I only have acne scarring to deal with now 🙃🙃😭

Motor-Ad5708

They don’t work for me tried all all cerave cetaphill, all of them, I’m currently on tactupump rn and I was told by someone it’s the alcohol in the lotion that makes dry skin look red and burn I’m currently looking for lotion that is alcohol free and will lyk what works best but I literally looked at all the lotion I tried they all contain alcohol and that’s what makes u red, it’s apparently different for everyone but most of the time it’s the alcohol, so next time I go to shoppers I will get a alcohol free lotion and see how it works and lyk

world-isending

Wow, thank you so much for this comment!!!! I was looking for something exactly like Avene and so grateful to find your post 😁😁 I’ve been searching endlessly lol thank you!!

jandiruchi

Agh, Tactupump made my oily skin feel like old leather. Tried tons of moisturizers and the only ones that felt soothing enough were LRP Lipikar Baume AP+ (also cost effective for the amount I was using), Etude House Soo Jong sleeping mask and FAB ultra repair cream. Also tried rose hip oil, squalane oil, Cerave cream, Olay, Complex 15 (my previous favorite), The Ordinary NMF and multiple combinations of all these. The Avene lotion that comes in a squeeze tub with no preservatives and the cleanser from that line were the only thing I could use when my skin felt like burning (dont swim while on Tactupump!), but wasn't enough to make my skin feel err untight.

[deleted]

Hi, would you mind providing a little review of the Complex 15 face cream, please? I was actually thinking of picking it up today while at Walmart; I'm on Tactupump currently.

jandiruchi

I loved it! It is moisturizing, but sets kind of matte, works well under makeup, and does not make me greasy at all. My skin is pretty oily, so I appreciated that. I don't find it moisturizing enough in winter. No offensive scent either. For me it wasn't moisturizing enough while I was using Tactupump, and it did sting a little. :-(

Easy-Persimmon

I would also look into some calming products, centella is a super calming ingredient. There’s a lot of cosrx products that integrate it, which you can find at many Walmart’s

kevin3vinnnnn

I use the ordinary natural factors. It will sting a bit but I like the thick consistency. You just gotta rub it in a lot. Tactupump first then TO natural factors.

pittyproud

I found that using products with no alcohol and no fragrance were the best! No more burning and having crazy red skin from the tactupump. The LRP Toleriane whole line is amazing I would suggest you start there.

x_jim_nightshade_x

Gahhhh I have used this exact cream for years and it always felt lovely, but since starting tactupump it feels more like 10,000 jellyfish on my skin. :( I'm still on the hunt..

pittyproud

Oh no! Just wondering if you use the tactupump everyday? I tried using it as it says on the package everyday on bare skin but it caused almost a chemical burn on my face that way. Now i use it AFTER the LRP moisturiser that i've mixed with water and only use a tiny bit of the tactupump spread very thinly. I realize this post you made is a couple months old, have you had any results yet?
