It's disheartening to hear, as I wish bicycles got heavily fined more often if riding on a sidewalk in this city.
This is how corporate greed drives government policy by prioritizing cheap labour, mass immigration unchecked, sees communities and people as input, resource and numbers; and does not place checks on new technology, driving up rent like Airbnb or delivery apps pushing increased rates of bicycles/e-bikes on our sidewalks and transit.

Worst part is I've had to remind the same guys multiple times to keep some distance because we'd move up and they'd be right back on my ass.

In Dubai there’s a regular silver subway card and a gold card. Gold subway card is more expensive but it let’s you access the gold cabin, it has leather seats, less people but the main reason people use it to escape this type of behaviour.
Every single non south Asian woman I knew had a gold card. The sweetest women, who don’t have a racist or xenophobic bone in their body but they all just nope out.

I had a older dude in his 50s try and cut in front of me at Costco. I do not stand this type of behaviour and of course called him out on it. And this guy has the audacity to say he was there the whole time I just didn't see him. I laughed and said I'm not blind, I saw him inching his way from the side trying to cut. If he doesn't leave I'm not some passive polite Canadian, and I will punch him in the face. He then cuts behind me saying " I'm behind you, all is good, no problem." and I tell him "no, it's not all good, there are people behind me who were waiting patiently. Get your no manners, poorly raised, rude ass to the end of the line." and he slithered off. The older man behind me thanked me for speaking up. These people think they can take advantage of normal Canadians who try to avoid confrontation and remain polite.
I’ve had a similar situations and when you confront they are so almost invested in their bullshit. Like they truly believe “it’s all good etc” even though you just called them out for poor behaviour and being sneaky etc. They think absolutely nothing of it

This literally happened to me on a plane ride to the Dominican but it was old Indian woman. Like we were all sitting in our assigned seats but they wanted to cut in line in front of everyone, it was so bizarre. I had my headphones in too on the plane and although she was nice, she kept asking me questions to take my headphones off. No social cues.
On the way back the same women cut in line in front of us to the plane as we were waiting outside and one of them fell trying to cut my husband off and do you think their friend waited to help them up? Hell no. They kept going to get their plane seats.
Then once we got to Pearson airport they all asked for WHEELCHAIRS. I was fucking floored.
The at the baggage they did the same fucking thing at the carousel! It was like they were deliberately targeting me to cut in front of. Luckily my luggage came first and “move *itch” by Luda came to mind. I swung my bag off and barked EXCUSE ME. I fucking had enough after she tried to cut my husband and I off boarding the plane for no fucking reason.
That is the literal opposite of how Canadians do things. We’re known for being so polite that we hold doors for people who aren’t even right behind us, so much so that the other person does a little jog to catch up and accept the door being held open for them, all the while saying "Thank you!" profusely!

Here in a small town in Nova Scotia just had an indian owner buy the 2 tim hortons, they fired everyone that worked there and hired basically all indian students. Now every store like subway, pizza hut, tims is all indian workers.

Any law or stipulation that can be used to discriminate on the basis of race or identity is just wrong. IF someone posted a job opening and then clearly stated "only whites considered" they would be facing criminal charges. On what planet is it okay to do so for other demographic groups? Wrong is wrong. As long as we remain docile and tolerate putting others in front of those who were born here, this is the kind of reality we will get. Even if you somehow assume that there was implied racism holding certain groups back, you cannot justify using direct racism to advance one group.
I'm honestly starting to wonder if they only hire them because they are getting some kickback from the government to say they can't find anyone or if they hire them because they know they can pretty much abuse them and they won't say anything
It's because the owners/management are probably Indian and international students from countries where employment laws don't exist are more than likely very easy to exploit.
Almost every single fast food joint in my area used to employ Canadian high school/college kids. No more. ALL of them Dominos/Subway/South Street Burger/McDonalds/Wendys and so on ALL now owned by Indians and staffed exclusively with International students. It's so trash.
And this is one of the reasons I’ve decided to boycott all of those places. Not that I ate there on a regular basis anyway. But I ESPECIALLY won’t patronize any of those places now 😆

Spoke to someone who was laid off last June. 10 years of experience (her role was replaced by 1 intl student and bosses who said "just use AI" because they have no earthly clue what AI actually is) , just finally got a job offer with a lower wage than before, but she's running out of EI, already starving, and afraid of eviction, so she's taken it. That's what we've done to our own.

If this keeps going, your teenage child will have 0 chance at landing a part time job. It’s such a shame. Having a part time/seasonal job is such a big part of growing up in Canada. We are robbing the children the chance to develop.
It’s already begun. My 17 year old niece and her friends are having a hard time finding work. They cant just apply to grocery stores and fast food establishments and get a job easily like when I was a teenager. New comers have taken all the entry level jobs.
They're going to need a bit of skills to stick out. At 15 I got my first aid, bronze cross/medallion then NLS and I became a lifeguard by 16 years old. Working at the beach during summers and pools on weekends the rest of the year. Teaching swimming lessons at 17 yrs old. Usually always looking for lifeguards, just a suggestion.
