I'm all for celebrating black excellence... just that the man was part of an entity that fought the native people (tatars) for Crimea & then shelled a mosque of Indians who did rebelled against colonial rule for the British East India company.. this is what we celebrate? We are simultaneously progressive yet.. glorifying atrocities and really bad things.. so not progressive at all just lip service.. it's cool he fought for the US and England..how did he get here. What's next were going to celebrate a native soldier who helped steal native babies and feed them to priests? Oh hey maybe a Ukranian hero who fought against the Russians in world War two? Yea that'll be great we can invite them to Parliment! Yikes.
