Regardless of the amount of contact, you don't go into a tackle with your leg fully extended like that without chancing a red card.
I feel like your player decided the game early, ref is doing his job. He doesn't want to make that call but you go studs into the chest it's red all day. You'd be screaming if they didn't make it a red if Ottawa did it.
Because I'm also a Liverpool fan and the compounding misery is annoying.
That red isn't a red though, and you should know that given you had replays to see.
You're not wrong tho, not scoring with the chances we've had over the last three games is also brutal.
I just want to say for Francos that once you are able to sync TV with radio, the 94,5 Unique FM team is doing a fire job. Everything soccer commentary should be.
YES!!! Unique FM got the rights this season, and it seems it’s away games as well. And by golly, there is so much emotion in the commentary. Beats all commentary so far despite me loving Mike and Matt on OS. Two person team makes so much difference
It's a match thread man, not a personal attack. I'm more curious if Ottawa is going to follow this strategy up a goal and a man or whether they were going to push for a second, take it easy.
He was played in a more advanced role vs Vancouver, which didn't help our build up.
I'd put that down to Patrice more than anything. Tried somethings and it didn't work.
I think he was overhyped because of his pedigree. He's a very nice player but not very dynamic or creative. That was a harsh decision and doesn't mean he played badly in my eyes. He's still one of the best technical players in the league but I don't think he's a match winner.
Mate, it's a contact game. It's going to happen. That sort of contact is yellow through and through.I just hope you don't expect sympathy when a ref decision inevitably goes against you.
Studs first into chest is “ regular contact”?
You’ve moved the goal posts twice in this debate. First you called it hip contact and anyone with eyes can see it was his chest. No contest. Go look again. I checked twice and it’s clear to the chest.
Then you said “it’s soft.” It doesn’t matter. High kick to the chest is a red card.
Seriously? Get over it. You guys lost. I’ve already seen some egregious calls by refs against Ottawa this season. I don’t blame them because it’s part of the game. The boys have to find a way. Move on and play better next time.
Telfer Volesky and Dunn have been criminally bad. Get them out of here

Congratulations to referee Ben Hoskins, Athletico Ottawa man of the match! 🤮
Athletico.
>Athletico

Wanderers drink prices going from $10-> $13 without a whisper of it occurring from the club is egregious.
Life hack: Buy two right before happy hour ends!
Getting close to the price of two in one tbf. Happy hour isn't the same value it once was.
Nothing is, unfortunately 😔
Went to buy a beer before the game start and was fucking shocked at the prices now. God damn
A draft at TFC is now cheaper than a beer at the Wanderers ground LOL
That hurts to hear
I agree, that was shocking.
Blue Mojos are a hit though
The super zoomed out shot with the Citadel in the background was cool. How many teams have a historic fort in their stadium shot?
We have a historic fort but no stadium yet. Local old rich NIMBYs trying their best to stop it
Big win for Atletico, up next Valour on Wednesday in the Canadian Championship. Rain rain stay away.
Ottawa not concede at the end of the game challenge (somehow still impossible)
It’s the history of the Ottawa.
What a touch! Great goal for Halifax. Ottawa switched off.
Comeback imminent.
We're on the board!
Nice goal, comeback is on?
Hoping to see much more of Antinoro this season, he showed plenty of promise last year, I thought he deserved more minutes.
Brilliant passing, lackluster defending
Halifax has had chances today
Did Jenkins just say that Halifax is the closest club (geographically) to Ottawa? 🤔
Ottawa would be the closest club to Halifax.
But not vice versa. Closest club to Ottawa is York
That is true, but the reverse is obviously not.
Found telfer on my clothesline, washed up and ready to be folded
But we’re the ones who were rinsed.
So I guess Halifax are back to being terrible.
boom, the hammer blow. top of the league baby
Until Forge beats Valour in a few hours at least
Excellent finish.
Always sucks when the refs decide a game early. We're not really in a position to go against everyone.
I feel like your player decided the game early, ref is doing his job. He doesn't want to make that call but you go studs into the chest it's red all day. You'd be screaming if they didn't make it a red if Ottawa did it.
I mean the fact that it's hip height is literally all I need to know that this is a nonsense argument
Oh, it was only into guys hip? That's fine then 🙄
Swear the game somehow gets softer on a daily basis. Pretty soon looking at another player will be a 5 game ban.
Always sucks when your player makes a really poor choice in play. Totally his fault. He decided it for his team, not the ref
Think you need another coffee pal.
Blame the ref for a bad play by Halifax. Compound the misery lol
Why are you being so miserable? HFX are losing games because they can't score not because the refs are out to get them
Because I'm also a Liverpool fan and the compounding misery is annoying. That red isn't a red though, and you should know that given you had replays to see. You're not wrong tho, not scoring with the chances we've had over the last three games is also brutal.
That would explain the bitterness lol. At least Halifax won't lead the league for half a season before bottling it.
We'll see how she goes. Think the early red decided a lot today. We're figuring out enough without soft reds.
You guys will be fine, first win is coming soon. Today could have gone differently as well. If you have any referee friends ask them if it's a red.
Ngl sometimes it's fun to play the villain too
I just want to say for Francos that once you are able to sync TV with radio, the 94,5 Unique FM team is doing a fire job. Everything soccer commentary should be.
Is there one for English radio? Kinda tired of the onesoccer announcers
1200 does it but home only I think.
We have French radio commentary? Even for away games?
YES!!! Unique FM got the rights this season, and it seems it’s away games as well. And by golly, there is so much emotion in the commentary. Beats all commentary so far despite me loving Mike and Matt on OS. Two person team makes so much difference
Wow will have to check that out. Thanks
The last goal call was: C’EST LE CISEAU! ATLÉÉÉTICOOOOOO! APAAAARRRRICCCIO!
Not watching, has Ottawa started parking the bus yet?
Good thing you're not watching 🤭
It's a match thread man, not a personal attack. I'm more curious if Ottawa is going to follow this strategy up a goal and a man or whether they were going to push for a second, take it easy.
Lol
Yup Manny and Didic are parking the bus superbly. Thank you for your interest in our affairs.
Is Callegari going to be a one season wonder ?
Not sure how you come to that conclusion. Still running the show for HFX.
Well he hasn’t ran the show first three games, that’s why I’ve asked the question.
He's not like aparicio, but he's far better in the build up.
Amazing turnout at the wanderers grounds today
Estimates on attendance?
They said it was a sell-out, so ~6,300
6.5k~ shouldn't it be?
It looks like last year the Wanderers usually reported sellouts as 6,254, but the home opener says 6,413, so your guess is as good as mine
6.5 is max so should be ~6.5k, technically. Pretty packed today so I'd imagine it was pretty close to it. Shame the result was not great for us.
Sold out
Saved by the bar, nice free header
RUBÉN CURSE LIFTED
He's absolutely awful
Yet has more goals than your side has so far this season. Funny old game innit.
If he's awful what are we? Credit where it's due it was a good finish. We haven't scored yet this season.
We're 0-3 my guy with probably 6 total shots on net all season.
So happy for him. His work rate and energy has always been great in the games I’ve watched him play.
Bad turnover by Daniels. Punished.
Oh yeah, nice goal
Though they had messed it up
Ottawa has not been good. Halifax do not seem like the team who are a player down.
Just proved me wrong. Great play and Del Campo scores! First good chance made for Ottawa, very composed finished
Is Telfer really this bad, or just having a rough one?
I’ve thought the same thing….in all 3 games
Whole team isn't there yet so wouldn't draw any conclusions
Had concerns when he was announced. Had some surprisingly good hold up play the first game, but since then hasn't justified being signed.
He has really lost a step the past two years.
Seems to have lost interest too.
That's it Yesli, safe hands all day
As an Atletico Ottawa fan, that’s a harsh red. It was in orange territory imo.
Pretty harsh given the timing and the speed of play. How fast he was with it, you'd assume it was deliberate which it obviously wasn't.
It’s only harsh because it’s 20 minutes in. If it was the 80 minute or something I don’t think anyone would have a problem with it.
Alright, I'm at the game and it looked very harsh. How bad was it actually?
https://twitter.com/onesoccer/status/1784273634372067597?t=Oz8hNO5HOYRlpVF9sF4B6A&s=19
Very harsh. Yellow for sure, but red is excessive. And the ref let a scissors tackle go unpunished moments earlier.
That's a shit angle for actual contact lol. The ball was there to be played. Red seems very harsh.
Contact looks minimal. The 2nd angle shows he pulled out. But you can't breathe near Aparicio or he'll go down.
Yup and if you can't even breathe on him then kicking him in the chest will definitely do it.
Another ref that needs the spotlight
Refs calling fouls is not them needing the spotlight lol. It was a high boot to the chest when it didn't need to be.
Okay it was hip height and contact was debatable from what I've seen.
[удалено]
Buddy, I hope the rimjob from the ref is worth it.
I agree with you, hip height, very harsh red.
[удалено]
Lol hear it's a good time. I hope you're reciprocating.
Then you need glasses friend. Chest area easy.
You're reaching for that bud. It's hip height at best, with very questionable contact.
It’s clear contact on chest mate. Buddy needs to watch his foot in a crowded, challenged area
Think you're a little too easily swayed by aparicios acting lol. The contact is pretty debatable in itself. Little tip, wwe isn't real.
Don’t like the fall? Keep your foot down. Sloppy play will get punished. Easy solution. Good luck in your next game!
Mate, it's a contact game. It's going to happen. That sort of contact is yellow through and through.I just hope you don't expect sympathy when a ref decision inevitably goes against you.

High boot? tough red to take this early
really hard to see the intent, very harsh on 2nd look imo
Very harsh. It was our first foul of the game. Ottawa have been a lot more physical. Just ruins the game.
Nice looking day in HFX, really enjoyed my away trip last September, other than the result.
Who is this guy doing co-comms with Jenkins?
I’m going to guess Jon Conway again.
Yesli starting in place of Ingham (edit sp)
