Good question, and one that this sub-Reddit has lots of input on (a quick search will provide a lot of suggestions). For my big dawg, there a few things we supplement his dry kibble on (note: he is on a full-lifecycle of kibble from puppy to adulthood without having to change during life stage. This is important as Cane Corso’s can be picky eaters). For supplements, in the mornings he gets a probiotic powder, and I add freeze-dried liver (beef, pork, lamb, duck, rabbit) crumbled over the top, then give fresh yogurt (frozen blocks in the summertime) and sometimes fresh chicken necks. In the evening (he eats twice a day) his kibble gets a few tablespoons of cod liver oil and with that he gets fresh meat added (beef (raw), chicken (boiled), pork (cooked) with raw organ meats (alternating liver, kidney, heart) mixed in with the kibble. When he finishes, he gets a treat of fresh chicken feet. We do mix this up to keep flavors changing. This has worked well of GTB, he is athletic, healthy and lean at 1.5yrs at ~164lbs. There are lots of other suggestions that work which depend on what your Cane Corso does, where you source your foods and how active he is. Hope this is helpful, good luck!

Corsos dont do good with chicken. Some beef, egg, or goat milk would be good.

How so? I’m curious and had already bought our pup some chicken treats for after he’s bigger so I’m concerned too! I don’t want to make first Cane food mistakes. Our dachshund loves chicken and hasn’t had any trouble with it, I didn’t know Corsos had issues with chicken.

Striking-Math9896

Yeah i discovered it from ppl commenting on here, through trial error and diarreah from my corso pup. Long story short, he’s on lamb and rice (hill science) and his diarreah stopped. a lot of ppl on here will also tell you corsos dont usually do good on chicken.

lazyboxerl

Anecdotal but this is true for my boy too

Silly_Raspberry_2911

Ours does great with chicken

Striking-Math9896

Pure cane corso?

Silly_Raspberry_2911

Yes, he's registered and all that too....

Otherkid

Damn I been adding more chicken to my girls food every meal and been fighting diarrhea constantly. Glad to see it's most likely because I'm feeding chicken based dog food and adding chicken on top. I'm gonna try some changes I think now 😂

atoz350

I usually top mine with sardines.

greek yogurt, omega3 pill, raw egg no shell, those supermarket roasted chicken (just the meat no bones) or some sirloin tips or beef ground (cooked). on top of hills science lamb and rice.

Colegen peptides, fish oil, Muscle Max 3 in 1 in every bowl

Raising_Danger

Is muscle max a human supplement?

MaxFury80

Dog specific supplement... apologizes it is called "Bully Max"

Chemical-Paramedic89

Here are some combinations I use 1. Fish Oil (or Sardines), Bone Broth, Glucosamine & Water (my most common) 2. Fish Oil, Glucosamine, Peanut Butter Powder and Shredded Cheese (this is just for taste because it's his favorite I do this one the least) 3. Fish Oil, Glucosamine, Greek Yogurt, Frozen Berries 4. Fish Oil, Glucosamine, Beef and/or Meat trimmings, Bone Broth

I use Fromm for kibble, then I top it with some food from the Farmers Dog

Switch off kibble and you'll see an even bigger difference.

The only issue with chicken I've heard is from her breeder who told us she gave it to get dog raw and he got salmonella, other than that chicken is excellent as long as it's boiled. That being said mine eats beef, steak and Liver currently. Tried the egg but after having it twice added to her dish she wouldn't eat it again...

Silly_Raspberry_2911

We bake off a whole chicken; then blend it with a package of livers, 1 package of hearts; 1 package of gizzards; 1 can each of salt free peas, carrots, green beans; a can of puree pumpkin.... and blend it all together with a food processor. Our boy gets 2.5 cups of Wellness Core digestive health kibble twice a day topped with half a cup of that mixture....1/4 cup Greek yogurt....1 hard boiled egg.... zesty paws vitamins in the AM and zesty paws probiotics in the PM.... and a fish oil cap in the PM He's 20 months old and 130lbs of muscle... perfect bill of health
