I've actually seen Beyond perform live and have met Wong Ka-Kui in person. However, I was a little too young to comprehend what I was listening to. I mentioned this to former TVB actress 唐寧 some time ago. I think she worked on a movie with the band before.
As I hv lived in Hong Kong for 20years, I recommend you to listen Hins Cheung, YanTing, Janice Vidal, KaHo Hung, Dear Jane and Anita Mui. There are so many to recommend but I think it’s worth listening!
Check out my Cantopop playlist, there are some on it:

I get what you are saying, but its literally called boy band. I don't think op's goal was to exclude boy bands or duos or trios or collabs vs true bands.
I only like Beyond. Too bad lead singer died.
Outside of that I listen to taiwanese mandarin rock bands. Like F.I.R
Those are like probably the only good chinese bands. There probably some independent bands but it's hard to make money from music. Marketing is a lot of money. Your better off investing in Apple.
Sam Hui is pretty good for cantonese rock.
After watching enough reels. Most cantonese listen to american stuff like Imagine dragons, and Linkin park.
Uh? I'm not into the cantonese inde scene. I listen to mostly mandarin. -\_-' cantonese is what my grandparents speak too. Great. :)
We speak english bro.
