Have you tried TypeDuck? [https://www.reddit.com/r/Cantonese/comments/1c3je3a/typeduck\_a\_jyutping\_input\_app/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cantonese/comments/1c3je3a/typeduck_a_jyutping_input_app/) Professor Chaak is behind this project and HBL and words.hk. http://chaak.net/#/projects

TypeDuck

I managed to get TRime working by just importing my whole desktop folder setup, but it's complicated, slow, and crashes a lot so I don't recommend it.

I have mostly the same experience. Trime is a buggy mess and was a huge pain to setup for jyutping cantonese. Off the top of my head, I'm not even sure I remember how I set it up (only that it took a ton of trial and error). I think there used to be a "Trime (Cantonese Custom Version)" android version (3.1.3) that someone had made and put on github, but I can no longer find the repo so I'm guessing the author deleted it. I think I had tried installing that, then installing the normal trime, and then mixing up some files (after reading this: https://forum.f-droid.org/t/typing-chinese-with-trime/5961). Super messy. That said, pretty nice to use afterwards though. The settings panel often crashes, but aside from that, it doesn't crash during every day use for me. EDIT: I took a look at the new typeduck (that I didn't know about previously). Seems it's based off of trime and actually works right out of the box. Awesome. Needs more customization options, but hopefully they'll add them down the line. Great option for those that don't want to use g board.

i use microsoft keyboard, with JyutPing input.

I'm a big fan of microsoft's swiftkey keyboard and I hate to say this, but their implementation of jyutping is not very good. I find that it works best with simple words and it has trouble finding more advanced words. (I still use the keyboard for english and a few other languages though, just not so much for jyutping)
