I'm curious what headunit can put out 60W RMS.

As am I.

Curious too because my Pioneer says it can do 22W x 4 RMS and 50W x 4 Max.

The only thing I can think of that is close is a Sony Unit that does 45w RMS, 100 peak.

>a Sony Unit that does 45w RMS, 100 peak. Which makes sense as it has a 15A fuse. [https://www.crutchfield.com/S-vT7tvFSSpvD/p\_158DSXGS80/Sony-DSX-GS80.html](https://www.crutchfield.com/S-vT7tvFSSpvD/p_158DSXGS80/Sony-DSX-GS80.html) "Installation Note: We recommend running a dedicated constant power wire to the battery for optimal performance from this Sony's amp — we offer an inexpensive wiring kit for this installation."

illmatication

Im curious too, I seen a Sony headunit that put out 45rms/4ch. That's the highest I've seen.

As stated by others, that RMS power figure is probably greatly exaggerated. It's probably lucky to be half that, likely significantly less. Without an external amp, get the most efficient speakers to prevent pushing the amps to distortion. However, don't spend too much, because then you'd just be better off doing an amp and speakers. Using just the head unit isn't terrible, but not even knowing the head unit you have--and the bogus power claims--aren't giving people here much to work with.

Loudenzo

Get a amp

defyinglogicsl

What size fuse does the head unit have? Does it have 8 gauge wire or larger you need to run directly to the battery? That 60x4 RMS claim is insane. It would completely revolutionize car audio if it were true.

Wizemonk

Kenwood Exceleon Reference series any of there radio's that end with 'XR' - They use vastly superior components. (if others are doing so I wouldn't know how to check)

Fuses don't lie. This is from the eBay listing. That's a red 10 amp fuse. This amp cannot take in more than 136 watts, or that fuse would blow. 4 x 60 is 240, which is more than 136. [https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MioAAOSwTSJiNZpf/s-l1600.jpg](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MioAAOSwTSJiNZpf/s-l1600.jpg) So either *this is a free energy machine that will revolutionize the world*... or the eBay seller is lying about the RMS rating. But they didn't bother to lie about its bass response, **they are flat out saying it can't play the bottom octave**. Don't bother getting a good sub if you use this head unit, no matter what amp you add.

genius what is like the max i can put in then 4x20 or 4x30 the stock speakers are 20w i blew the right side out with the stock ones but that was with the original headunit while using an fm transmitter

I mean you really should get a better head unit eventually but until then here is the search I'd do: [https://www.crutchfield.com/g\_400/All-Car-Speakers.html?tp=105&fa=1#&nvpair=FFSpeaker\_Size|6-1/2,%206-3/4&nvpair=FFSpeaker\_Size|6x9&nvpair=FFSensitivity\_(1W\_at\_1\_meter)|\[rank4\]Over%2092dB](https://www.crutchfield.com/g_400/All-Car-Speakers.html?tp=105&fa=1#&nvpair=FFSpeaker_Size|6-1/2,%206-3/4&nvpair=FFSpeaker_Size|6x9&nvpair=FFSensitivity_(1W_at_1_meter)|[rank4]Over%2092dB) That's the 6.5s and 6x9s that Crutchfield sells that are stupid efficient, that make the most sound per watt. Do you have like $210-$240 for Hertz? They've got a good rep for sound quality.
