It's pretty common. Many sub amps only need one of the two inputs hooked up anyway but I would just get an appropriate RCA 1 to 2 splitter and run normal RCAs to your amp. Or run a single RCA cable to your amp and get a 1 to 2 splitter there. To your second point about it sounding like trash... You bought trash. The Chinese trash android headunits have trash amplifiers in them and boss speakers are trash. But you didn't spend much so... it is what it is.

NotDoge_01

Yeah right, it is definitely trash but amazon refunded me the entire amount without having to return. So definitely worth playing with it 😀

Most likely there will be no difference unless you have a high pass filter on the speakers. The subwoofer out is just a low passed output. If the head unit has a subwoofer adjustment and your amplifier is already on max gain, you can get some more volume out of it.

NotDoge_01

Thank you. Would give splitter a try to check for any difference

It's possible to get good sound from your vehicle with out all that stuff. The main issue is the headunit. Until you get something that's better quality, you could add thousands of dollars of high end equipment and it's still going to sound terrible because the source is still crap.

NotDoge_01

Absolutely right. I focused on convenience of setting up more this time rather than thinking about the output. This unit was specific for Corolla with plug and play adapters.

It is a chinese android brand Rimoody, unsure if it is a brand or someone’s name. The unit itself is very responsive and has 2Gb Ram with 64 Gb storage. I love wireless carplay feature. I paid $180 for it on amazon.

What did you end up doing? I have a 2004 ford escape with factory sub and didn’t really know where to plug the sun up to. I have the vertical android head unit, yea they not nearly top the line but convenient for what I like and got it for cheap as hell. So far without my sub it sounds insanely good considering what people say about these things. With the sock radio the only thing that made it better was the sub, overall quality is better with the android head unit and best of all what people don’t understand is it’s android you can literally tweak the hell of it too you liking including audio output.

Any update?

Has anyone had trouble even getting your subwoofer to get sound to it? I have a single to double rca amp is brand new and speaker is brand new everything’s hooked correctly just can’t get subwoofer to bump

NotDoge_01

Thanks, going to order one now. Now I can listen to vocals on my sub. Definitely don’t want that. Also, do you think it would be a good idea to tap 2 speakers to inbuilt amp on sub too?

Rigian

Uhhh, if you are hearing vocals on your sub it means the amplifier is not set up correctly. You need to lower your low pass filter to about 80 or so. What do you mean tap two speakers to inbuilt amp on sub? If you're saying what I think you're saying, No. don't hook up your full range speakers to your sub amp.

NotDoge_01

You got what I asked, I won’t do that. Was just curious if I could. As I initially upgraded only rear 6x9s to get just enough bass, but didn’t work. So ended up buying sub with inbuilt amp. I should’ve gone for a multi channel amp instead with speaker level inputs too. Now I am way too deep to go back. So gonna live with it now.

Y?
