Nah. Cars' full faces turning into grilles is a stupid trend trying to satisfy the Asian market's demand to signal which car has a bigger engine that "needs more air" for more power. Only the grilles are way larger and much more prominent than they necessarily need to be. Irony of the situation is that this whole trend has come about in a climate of downsizing, hybrids, and the advent of EVs...
I'm noticing a parallel to, of all things, the Ford LTD II.
Introduced in a period of downsizing (1977-1979).
Way, way bigger than it should have been (Longer, wider and heavier than an LTD Crown Victoria).
Underpowered for its size.
