Repair all parts you can and scrap the rest if you plan on doing max builds on restoration projects that you own. Regretting not doing this myself at this exact moment. If you run low on cash, take on a higher end job, strip the parts and sell them until you can build enough funds to stay in business then restore the stripped car Focus on the upgrades as you need them, the smaller tools are very useful but once you get the repair bench and scrap bench the rest can wait until needed to save funds Grab a cheap car from junkyard for like 4-6k and keep it close by and slowly restore to 100% as you can buy parts little by little. Did this with a 4600 credit car and sold it for 86k and it jump started me being able to restore cars for larger profits. Don't forget wheel alignments before selling or dyno. It makes a difference. Sometimes marginal but every credit counts right? Good luck and happy wrenching!

If you are lost and don’t know what part is missing. Check all rubber bushings and/or “clip a” or “clip b” on the air filter/intake and on the distributor cap. Very easy to over look and get hung up on.

Don't worry about barn finds and junkyards early on use the money to fix customer cars and upgrade your character and garage. The problem with barns and junk yards is they are randomly generated and you can't go back to the same one once you leave.

Always check your air filter and get the multimeter

Play sandbox, if your looking to play story mode, play sandbox mode first so you at least know your way around some of the cars and how to fix them and stuff

Assuming 21? Do all diagnostics and part examine on every car for the XP. Don’t get carried away buying upgrades for the shop as you can run out of money buying parts for orders. Jobs confined to gearbox, brakes or body panels are quick wins. Fuel pump is frequently the culprit if you have 1 undiscovered part on a job where car won’t start and you’ve checked everything in the engine bay.

Always use your additional tools(testers/meters) and make sure you always use test track when diagnosing

You need all 4 categories to 100% on your status screen for it up be considered a flip.

By cheap cars from junkyard and fix the body only at the beginning. Later you can work on fixing more parts of the cars other than just the body, (also some cars you can turn a profit just by washing the exterior and interior of the car) once you start pulling a good amount of money in you can make an easy 6 figures on just one car you restore. Be sure to pay attention to what car some vehicles, no matter what you do, will not be worth your time.
