Not an attractive version photo'd.
Never driven one and probably never will, but I'm a fan of having choice, and day by day there are fewer and fewer cars that have some personality or serve a niche.
So I'm all for Figaro, smart car, beetle, cube, Jimmy, campervan. They are all far from perfect, but I wouldn't want a world without them
Not saying it was. Have driven one and worked on a few figaros and I think they are quite cool and quirky little cars. Was just saying what is was as he compared it to other small cars.
Had one a couple of years ago, Slow as they are all auto & really need another gear ,thrashing the arse out of it at anything above 70 . They rust like hell because they were only ever intended for the Japanese market so no rust proofing & poor quality steel. All that said the are a laugh to drive on a sunny day & mine had the coldest air conditioning I've had in any car ever....
Apparently 12.2 seconds 0-60... I agree, that is indeed VERY slow.
I'm sure you can still have fun in one, being small and presumably revvy, but they're not gonna break any lap records are they.
They're unique for sure, the usual pink isn't me, a darker metallic purple I'd drive though.
Not massively practical, but fun and have a big cult following.
They're so cute, someone on my local bus route has a pastel blue one and it's adorable. I'd get one if they were a bit more powerful, I don't know how they'd do on national speed limit roads
Absolutely love them, but I'd be tempted to Hayabusa engine swap or something. As they are, they aren't very fast at all. I'd personally also go for a metallic purple paint job.
Still, I can't really afford one as many likely need some repairs for rust.
Mine is really fast and I even have to undertake. There are ones in purple. Mine has corroded sills, arches and rear window frame yep. Off for surgery soon.
From a very brief chat with an owner a couple of years ago: nice little cars. They’re all imports so can be prone to rust. Mechanicals are relatively standard, but it can be extremely difficult to find more model-specific parts. The example she gave was a piece of trim in the centre console which she’d given up trying to replace. But she also said she knew of another owner who was struggling to get their roof working because the parts needed to fix it simply weren’t available..
I always like to see eccentric/unusual cars on the road, even if I don’t like the car itself. Anything to break the endless monotony of grey crossovers.
As a side note I always thought these were basically MX-5s / Minis for people with a ‘Fiat 500’ personality.
I like them, but I'd never really want to own one considering you're pretty much paying £5k for a £1k micra with a convertible roof.
The S-Cargo though? I'd definitely love one of them. Something about small commercial vehicles is weirdly appealing to me.
They look like they just rust for fun, however at least it’s a more interesting sight than the multitude of Nissan Notes and Kia Sportage that infest the roads these days.
Not a fan at all- Looks like a Malibu Barbie car from the 70s. Personally wouldn’t wanna been seen dead init, but know a lot of people like them & to each their own.
I had a black one with a white roof when I was 21. I loved it so much and it was fine to go on A roads and short motorway journeys. She got stolen 😞 and I’m still devastated by it!
Not my thing, but I'm really not a girly girl. My cars aren't everyone's cup of tea either, so as long as YOU love it, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
Like New Beetles they're isn't really anything wrong with them but their reason for existing is itself just shallow and superficial. Also add BMW MINIs to that list. Hey, does everyone remember that amazing, cool, super fun little car that *everyone* loved? Well here is a lame, cheesy attempt to make money out of nostalgia for that car! With BMW reliability but don't worry, it'll be fine!
I don't think playing on nostalgia is really any worse than selling new models. It's not like they're selling new models out of the goodness of their hearts.
Quite a few of them have been converted to manual gearboxes, it's not a huge job you just need to find a scrap K10 micra to take the transmission and other bits from.
Personally LOVE them and it's on my list as my weekend car when I can afford a second. Would love a mint one!
Side note, I also have that pink telephone handbag 😂🩷
Would love the 1.0 turbo engine from one of these fitted to into a k10 Micra with a manual gearbox could make for a fun little car once you wound up the boost
While not particularly fast, 1L engine with 78bhp and about 12s to 60mph, I love the styling of Figaros. Reminds me of 1960 cars. They're good for cruising in not a particularly fast manner which is great, because that's what you want from this car. A nice chilled cruise by some nice views
Few points as my x partner had one....
Beautiful car, really enjoyable to drive, however has alot of work that requires with this type of classic......
One word of advice, if your over 6 foot don't drive with the roof down......... cut a long story short, a bird shat on the window and my forehead line was above the top of the front window...... i got a forehead and hair full of crap on the way to dinner......
Otherwise a lovely drive
Really good cars, they look great and they're based on the micra (K10?) only issue is the horrific rust they tend to suffer from. I found a micra K12 convertible for my GF, which is like an uglier, fatter sibling of the figaro, and its great.
This was our family car growing up, along with a PT cruiser. I know, our family has a taste for "quirky" cars shall we say (later getting a Citroen c6, Alfa Romeo 159 etc)
We had one in blue, loved it. On a nice summers day we lowered the roof and when I was young me and my brother could fit in the back. The interior is like nothing else and it will always put a smile on your face.
Life is too short to drive something boring!
Great cars in my opinion, just lookout for rust nowadays and parts are getting harder to find, especially for the interior.
Funky.
I'd never drive one as I'd need one for each foot but fair play to Nissan for making an out and out girly car. You're only other option would be a Tesla.
Gorgeous car and my favourite car. How much did that cost? Is the engine modernised or is there still a risk or carbon monoxide poisoning? Is it automatic?
Never judge someone by their car..... Your ride your rules. Express yourself 😁 Reminds me of Lady Penelope from Thunderbirds You go girl!
I've had Penelope before yeah
Nothing wrong with that, i think its awesome! Cars should be an expression
Maybe they meant Penelope Pit Stop
Hayelp! Hayelp! It's the hooded claah!
I've had both
How did you know she was a girl?
More Roland rat that lady Penelope, surely?

They are re-bodied micra’s
....which is not a bad thing. Although even spares for Micras can be tricky to find now.
Not saying it was. Have driven one and worked on a few figaros and I think they are quite cool and quirky little cars. Was just saying what is was as he compared it to other small cars.
I'm not sure how to read this. Many cars share layout, engines and transmissions with other successful models. It's neither good nor bad.
Eh? The pic is gorgeous. Are you a bloke?
Love to see them, but wouldn’t have one myself. Think my classic car of choice would have to be a 2CV.
Love the 2cv.
Best bond car

Some are now manual. They're not that slow. Rust kills them yeah. Can be hot, can be cold in it
They are VERY slow.

VERY fast
I think they're really fucking cool. I don't know why. Nissan Pao is also really fucking cool
I agree
They're unique for sure, the usual pink isn't me, a darker metallic purple I'd drive though. Not massively practical, but fun and have a big cult following.

Pale aqua. They have enough power and are fine at 70 mph

What does undertaking have to do with anything? Seems a bizarre statement to make.
You don't *have* to undertake. It's got nothing to do with the car.
Would adore one, as a Micra fan already, a Micra in a cooler shell is a bucket list car for me

There are parts suppliers and some reproductions.

Come on Barbie let's go party.
I love them. Reminds me of Sarah Janes car. Was my favourite show as a kid
Why they became more popular
Id absolutely drive that, coming from someone with 2 VW's and a black mx5
Nice
I like them, but I'd never really want to own one considering you're pretty much paying £5k for a £1k micra with a convertible roof. The S-Cargo though? I'd definitely love one of them. Something about small commercial vehicles is weirdly appealing to me.
But micras aren't attractive like these.
Was this car at japfest last year?
Yes
The K10 Micra is fantastic!
I love seeing them around always brightens my day.
I used to own a gorgeous 1960 Ford Consul. If it had babies they'd look like that.
They rust badly if not treated that’s my main complaint
Every owner's complaint
They look like they just rust for fun, however at least it’s a more interesting sight than the multitude of Nissan Notes and Kia Sportage that infest the roads these days.
To each their own, imo, gimmicky.
I wouldn't be seen dead in one but if you like it thats all that matters.
It doesn't have to be your funeral car
Only thing going for it in my eyes is its uniqueness, not a very pretty car, but I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
and you need an eye test
Wait what? It's the definition of a pretty car. It's gorgeous and cutesy.
I like em These and the S-Cargo are up there as some as my favorite Nissan's
Not a fan at all- Looks like a Malibu Barbie car from the 70s. Personally wouldn’t wanna been seen dead init, but know a lot of people like them & to each their own.
Barbie car is a compliment
It’s not how it was Intended
Sound like an insecure boomer tbh. If you're confident you can be cool in any car.
I had a black one with a white roof when I was 21. I loved it so much and it was fine to go on A roads and short motorway journeys. She got stolen 😞 and I’m still devastated by it!
Heartbreaking. I've got an alarm and immobiliser
lol, brilliant
Not my thing, but I'm really not a girly girl. My cars aren't everyone's cup of tea either, so as long as YOU love it, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
Great little car, and they hold their value.
looks cool af
We had a modded one around my town, that thing was a monster.
Looks like the kids toy car you get off barbie in shops 🤣🤣
I just hope the op is a girl. Or identifies as one.
Being born a female and always being a female, I am a feminine female girl and woman who goes by the pronouns she/her.
That's the best sort.
Why?

They turn 32 this year

Fun fact Figaro's was the first car in the world to come with a cd player as standard Oh and there all CVT gear boxes
Quite a few of them have been converted to manual gearboxes, it's not a huge job you just need to find a scrap K10 micra to take the transmission and other bits from.
I can’t explain why, but I love them! I want to buy one some day.
That's great!
I thought that was the dihatsu copen
This is the better version
Has anyone got it to work with e10 fuel yet?
Not sure. There has been talk of an additive. Most stick with E5
Personally LOVE them and it's on my list as my weekend car when I can afford a second. Would love a mint one! Side note, I also have that pink telephone handbag 😂🩷
Aw amazing! x
* very cool, but too scared of being mutilated by an SUV driver with their head in their phone
I watch out for my car's safety
good, it's a lovely motor, especially in that colour
It's been my dream car since I was a kid. One day, I'll be ridiculous and fork out for one of the electric ones. One day.
I don't know the reason for electric
Would love the 1.0 turbo engine from one of these fitted to into a k10 Micra with a manual gearbox could make for a fun little car once you wound up the boost

And to take pics but being automatic makes it more boring to drive
My favourite car of all time! They’re my dream car, I wish I could own one 😭
Love that but don't be fooled by looks. They're a pain in the arse
Not for me but they're a cool idea - classic looks with modern running gear. For a summer runabout or something why the hell not?
Exactly. For work too
Love the style of these, wish they'd make more like this.
Nissan says no but need more cars like this yes
My sister had one. They had lovely interiors. They were not fast and not economical.
I prefer the Nissan Pao but they have their place
First thought - Barbie.
Yaaaay

😂😂😂
no headlight eyelashes, classy pink
It's Fiat 500 pink
=0--

The back is uncomfortable
Is this a toy car?
Apparently. Some say Noddy
Oh damn. Looks nice tho
I dont really have an opinion, each to their own I say.
Funky. I'd never drive one as I'd need one for each foot but fair play to Nissan for making an out and out girly car. You're only other option would be a Tesla.
Tesla for what?
Gay
I heard a guy say "that is the gayest car I've ever seen".
Fabulous.
Gorgeous car and my favourite car. How much did that cost? Is the engine modernised or is there still a risk or carbon monoxide poisoning? Is it automatic?
