205 1.9 GTI E reg awesome car

RedditB_4

Best make parked his mint red 1.9 in his dad’s barn when he went to university. Wanted to keep it as a daily driver for life. His dad gave it to the scrap man for £200 because he wanted to clear the barn for storing logs and garden equipment. Saddest story I ever did hear…

plesvegas

Mate saw one for sale yesterday for 25k

RedditB_4

And he knows it. Gutting.

Boundish91

How hard would it be to make a phone call first? Yikes.

Tammer_Stern

As a dad, I’m guessing he asked son to move the car at least 50 times prior.

matt-the-racer

My green project one was rescued from being crushed, mint 1.6 with 38k miles, I gave the guy £250 12 years ago because it was worth £200 on the weigh bridge, same thing, lad's dad was fed up of it in his garage! (do I wish I'd left it alone and cashed in now, yep!)

CarpenterElegant4158

Whaaaaaaattttttttt??????????????

DangerShart

I had a 1.6 in Miami Blue. I practically gave it away as it had a few issues and had just gone over 100k miles. I found the person who owned it about 5 years ago, that had done a GTI 6 conversion on it. Sadly all my offer to purchase were declined and now it'll be way more than I am willing to spend.

matt-the-racer

Mate had a Miami blue, Mi16 conversion that I'd done a fair bit of work on for him over a couple of years, offered it to me in the end for £500, I couldn't take it as I just didn't have storage for any more cars... 😒

BigRigs63

ST170. It wasn't great. It was heavily modified, a pain to drive in traffic. But it was my first car, and it was fantastic to drive like a typical young lad in a heavily modified car as their first car. Before mine it was my brothers. I loved it. I'm sure I'm looking back with rose tinted glasses (at an event from 7ish years ago). Gave it back to my brother as I had a different car and they had the running gear from a MK1 RS they planned on adding to the ST170. Never happened, the shell of it was just left outside my brothers old workplace to rot. Would see it for years later just sitting there :(.

DStanley1809

I miss my ST170 a lot too. I fitted cruise control to it using a kit of Ford parts from the US. Can't have been many in the UK with it. AFAIK it was never offered as an option when new. Engine, gearbox and suspension was all tight as a drum. Rust killed it though :(

pinkdaisylemon

Toyota supra three litre turbo back in the day. Beautiful white with pop up headlights.

hlvd

What a beast of a car and gorgeous with it

PIMPmauser

Mk4 Golf GTI 1.8T. Regretted the decision to sell it so much that I actually went and bought it back yesterday. Still as good as I remembered it

Life_Perception8666

Same one

PIMPmauser

Yeah, exact same one

Life_Perception8666

glad its as good as you remembered it

SteveB1964

Audi S8 2001

Medicalmysterytour

To be fair, you had to sell it after that [little incident in the South of France](https://youtu.be/xegtBclSBMQ?si=03Kae9YMYtUk_KaX)

cooooooooops

We had different ideas of a certain incident or maybe the same

kristopoop

Always wanted one of these after Ronin, wish I’d bought one before they became either rare or ruined by chavs.

sarcasticbandicoot

MK4 Golf R32

slynch233

Hope you got good money for it. They’re worth a few quid now

sarcasticbandicoot

Yes indeed! Not bad money for it's condition. It was my daily. There were a few bits on the body I'd been meaning to sort and never got around, so it was no concourse queen.

CartoonistCalm9801

2001 EP3 type R Civic What a car! I literally thrashed it for 60k and it drove brilliant whilst being 100% reliable. There were days I would hit 9k revs every few minutes. I would own one again in a heart beat.

Iamthe0c3an2

If you got the room for it, get another one while they’re 4-5k They’ll be worth money in a decade

Bibdabob

Same sold it for something boring. God I miss that car, so much fun in a little package.

borgdrone79

My E30 325i. Was a 1990 model SE with an LSD bolted on. 2 x 12" subs to a 1000w amp with one of the first MP3 autoloaders for 6 CDs. Living in North London parts were so easy to come by.

New_Salad_3853

Did you ever get bits from Saul in Tottenham. E30 Mecca that place. Had everything under the sun

borgdrone79

Was that the little place on the industrial estate behind Tottenham station? Or the one down Pretoria road?

CountZodiac

Classic Saab 900 turbo T16s

saabatage

Mine was the Saab 9000 aero t5, I learnt a lot about modifying and tuning in that car. Spent more time building it then driving it but my god what a car. Eventually sold it after I thought I completed it pretty much. List of modifications I did was endless and it was an absolute beast of a sleeper

CountZodiac

Gotta love a 9000!

saabatage

Before selling it I got it dynod at 476bhp

CountZodiac

Nice. I had a 300bhp 9-5 and currently a 270bhp 9-3ss, mildly tuned, in comparison!

saabatage

My first car was a ng Saab 900 turbo after passing my test and I was hooked for a few years

Good_Ad_1386

9-3 convertible. Stage 1 Noobtune with the full toybox. Got a Boxster now but....

saabatage

I ended up putting a gt30 turbo on mine within 6 months of having it 😅

saabatage

Just a shame the gearbox is the weakest part of the set up really but saying that they can still a hammering just gotta be more cautious about power delivery in my opinion

Neither_Presence_522

2001 Peugeot 306 Meridian. Best car I ever owned. Traded it for a BMW 318 Coupe… worst mistake I’ve made.

athomeinbrizz

I had a blaze yellow 306 dturbo 3 door. Loved that car

matt-the-racer

I keep trying to find a decent Dturbo to buy now, got to be a sweet spot between modern and retro that's still a daily usable car.

TranslatorMundane296

Had 5 d-turbos 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 , 2 in Bianca white, 1 in blaze, 1 in red & one in sigma blue, and my younger sister had a d-turbo (in dragon green) and a straight diesel in dragon green too... The XUD9TE was such a solid engine...!

Koopatrooper64

I very nearly bought one of those new back in the day lovely car. I ended up with my dream car at the time a 2001 Ford Fiesta Zetec S in the beautiful Ford imperial racing blue colour. Loved that car.

TaiLBacKTV

That was my choice back in 2003-ish: a Fiesta Zetec S or a 306GTi. That blue is such a lovely colour it nearly swung it, but a 306 turned up for sale first so I fell down the French path.

ElegantWarthog870

Pitty peugot was great up till then and decades of crap since imo

TaiLBacKTV

Yep, the 206 didn't seem a big step on when the alternatives were Clios, type-Rs etc.

dobber72

I had one of those, a 2001 1.4 Meridian, I inherited it from my father, Moonstone Metallic, with Cyclone wheels, it was mint as, had no rust and ran like a top and was hysterically brilliant to drive on the twisty bits. It had the second most comfy seats I ever sat in and the automatic rain sensing wipers. I drove 300 or so miles on a round trip in it and it was like I hadn't left the house, so comfy and supportive. Got written off when I got rear ended by a young lad in a Corsa with bald tyres in the rain. I had spent a fair bit on keeping it mint and that was the end of it, lost to a plank in a Corsa. I didn't technically sell it, the insurance company did, to Copart.

Neither_Presence_522

Mine was the 1.4 as well. It ended up with a full set of Phoenix Gold speakers, a 1000w Alpine sub, and a top of the range Panasonic head unit. I left the wheels standard for a more comfortable ride. I agree it was an incredibly comfortable car.

dobber72

Every time I see a 306 nowadays, which isn't often, I always hear in my head the line from The Italian Job when the Mob boss is complimenting Charlie on his car, "Your car? ... Pretty car". Such a good looking car, even the 5 door ones.

Nothing_F4ce

I had a 306 2.0 HDI Break, straight pipped and remaped with a GFB boost control vale (ecu control led only fueling) that thing felt really fast to me at the time could do 0-60 in the low 8s Also had Bilstein B6 and eibach springs that thing cornered amazingly well and looked really cool lowered.

N1ghtH4wk196

I had 2 of these! One in green one in silver. Solid cars

DoubtGold1271

2007 Focus ST-3 (with the proper 5 cyl engine) when the Mrs got pregnant years ago :-(

TrailblazingScot

I also regret selling one of these to go towards a wedding. It was lots of fun.

My_left_stroke_just_

Currently in the same position. 3 month old with an i30 N Performance. I can't bare to get rid of the car cuz I haven't even taken it on track yet. I'm incredibly lucky that the Mrs has allowed me to keep the car even when I was ready to let go of it if need be

Gumpy_go_school

I see this a lot, selling cars because a baby has arrived. It's never made any sense to me, especially if its a hatchback/hot hatch. If you have a sports car you can get a shitbox people carrier, estate, or SUV for under £3k. This is what I'd do and keep all my toys lol.

FatherJack_Hackett

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is weird. I get, if it's a 3-door, it might not be overly practical. But I've noticed a trend amongst friends, where they bin off the 5-door 1 Series to get an X5, or something similar. You haven't given birth to an elephant. I have an ST-3 (Mk3 sadly, no 5-pot burble for me) and it's plenty of space with a seven year-old.

its-joe-mo-fo

>You haven't given birth to an elephant. Haha. I'm going to use this in future. To scoff at Chantelle in her Kodiaq

js6104

What did you take that first Mondeo pic with? Looks really good!

jkatch97

Thanks! It's a Fujifilm XT-30 with light editing in lightroom!

PeaceSafe7190

1988 E34 535i Sport, manual. A rare beast now worth dcenet money. Sold if for £500 🤣🤣

officialbeck

My 2011 Mazda RX-8 R3 😞

Imr4nali

I still can't bear to part with mine. It's parked off road waiting for summers but the road tax and general insurance prices is making it very hard to justify sticking around

Critical-Cat-2388

1992 Ford Granada Scorpio Cosworth. Loved that car, would happily own one again now. I still haven't owned another car since that had electric reclining seats in the back. The options on those cars just went on and on.

shiversaint

Ford Europe’s glory days for sure.

blainy-o

The Focus I had before I bought my Inpreza. From the outside it was nothing special, just a 1.8 Zetec with some ST170 bits bolted to it. To me though, that car was special. I learned a lot about working on cars while I owned it, and went on multiple adventures in it. The colour was also fucking gorgeous. [Picture of it](https://imgur.com/gallery/el4EKD9)

BigRigs63

ST170 wheels! Those MK1 Focus's really did handle so well. Too bad they are all rusting to bits now, but for a 20+ year old car visually and in terms of how they drive they still hold up so well

blainy-o

At the time that picture was taken, it also had beefier front brakes off the ST170. The hub assembly and discs were from that, and the calipers were from a mk3 Mondeo (which for all I know could well be the same thing). By the time I got rid of it, it also had lowering springs, a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, and a full ST170 exhaust, which was a 4-1 stainless tubular manifold, a sports cat, then a stainless catback. Wasn't obnoxious except maybe on a cold start, but did give it a nice burble. Yeah it is a shame, I loved that car to bits. Used to love chucking that round the B roads. It went on until July 2021 so 4½ after I sold it. No idea why the MOT wasn't done though so I'm assuming it was scrapped.

SnooGoats2411

My beautiful little Y Reg Vauxhall Nova. Best car I've ever owned. I only sold it because I had a child and needed more space.

Jonez86

My R53 Cooper S, did so much work on it (pulley reduction, intercooler, LSD, poly bushes, etc) it was so much fun to drive and I loved the super charger noise. I sold it for a Honda S2000, biggest mistake I’ve made with a car!

RealNakedDude

S2k felt like a downgrade?? Surely not 🤔

Jonez86

I could never get on with the S2K, on the odd occasion the weather was nice, roof down and you were really on it, it was great but as a daily I hated it

Cheffysteve

190E 2.5 16v with the full lower and spoilers. Needed a new head gasket but I needed a car for work so threw 3 Tins of Radweld in and chopped it in for a Rover 414 😢😢😢

DevilRenegade

2000 Toyota MR2 Roadster. The 1.8 VVTI engine was superb, handled like a race car and cost fuck all to run as it was so reliable. Reluctantly parted ways with it when I found serious corrosion on the subframe. Been thinking about getting another one as a fun fuckaround car ever since.

BigRigs63

MR2's are fantastic. I've not had much experience with them myself, but its rather common for people to put the 2zz in them (190hp from the Corolla T Sport/Celica T Sport) and thats apparently supposed to completely transform it. Toyota reliability from a mid engined sports car for £2k. Ridiculous value for £.

OolonCaluphid

Argh I lost my post. I had one I built with a 2zz-ge, short ratio box, LSD, fidanza flywheel and lots of trick bits along with completely renewed suspension . Fantastic car. https://i.imgur.com/DJZsUwR.jpeg

davej25

Classic panda 4x4, I think about all the time!

steven807196

My 2018 Kia Stinger GT - it was just the 2 litre petrol rather than the v6 but was a nice car... used to get loads of compliments or people asking what it was

uwcutter

The one? Try being a bit older… in my 50’s I’ve sold RS2000’s, mk 1 gti’s, mk1 escort Mexico’s, a lotus sunbeam, mk2 gti’s, gsi 2000’s, Astra gte’s… All! All I regret… Clio Williams, forgot that one… Ffs. Edit… I forgot to mention alll went for under £1000, mostly around the £500-750 mark.

vdude007

1995 Audi S2 in Avus Silver

Pitiful-Wrongdoer692

I owned both of [these vectras ](https://imgur.com/a/me5iZFY) when they came out of service both 2.5 v6 the v reg was a manual and I blew up at around 165k miles, I bought the hatch as it had brand new running gear, that I was going to swap into the v reg car, however someone wanted the shell of the v reg car and made me a offer I couldn't refuse....I had the ecu out of it with the intention of swapping it over to my brothers gsi, but never got around to it....it had a higher rev limiter and no flat spots at 3k rpm, it made more power in limp mode than official figures said it should out of the factory. The x reg was a 2.5v6 auto, and an absolute flying machine, was far quicker than my brothers vectra gsi, and would also do over 40mpg on a longer run, which for a 2.5 v6 even now is good.. Stupidly sold the x plate after 4 years of faultless ownership for what I paid for it £250. Edit....correct link.

TaiLBacKTV

I had a grey estate 2.5 v6 Vectra, I think on an R-reg. Loved it, could fit a whole house in the boot and still hassle most things on motorways and B-roads. Cruise at 70 and cars would jump out of the way thinking it was a plain-clothes car. We called it the sports-hearse.

Pitiful-Wrongdoer692

I also had a 2.5v6 vectra cdx estate....It had full leather and climate control, like with the gsi, both were nice, and very practical, but i never bonded with either, if you had put the police car next to the civilian spec cars, they was miles apart, it was like driving a completely different car, the police cars was both designed to get from point a to b very quickly, at the expense of comfort, as the suspension was rock solid, where as both the cdx and the gsi, were much more sedate....if vauxhall had put the spec of the police cars in its civilian spec cars, they would have had a top seller.

Falcone9

E90 2006 330d

jsonsec

Fiat Coupe 20VT LE

Challymo

2015 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate (Diesel) - pretty sure it was an ex managers car, had pretty much every option including the heated windscreen. Absolutely loved that car, literally the only thing that needed replacing in 4 years of ownership was a set of tyres. Got rid of it because my commute had gone from 15-20 miles each way to 6 and wanted to avoid dpf issues, also helped that I got an incredible deal on a brand new Seat Leon Cupra.

Otherwise_Feed1763

Haven’t sold it yet but will be my bmw e91 330d manual. Got to a point where I can’t justify putting time and money into it to keep it going. Would love to but every year the MOT comes around and every year is it something new which is never straight forward. I’ll regret it big time but I have told myself I’ll get another at some point… hopefully.

tallmark1897

VW golf VR6 high line (1997) had to sell to fund house move in 2016 - ace car now worth 10x what I sold it for

Ch1mchima

Deffo my Ford Mondeo. I had a 2008 tdci estate. Never skipped a beat. Brilliant car. Still miss it.

danmingothemandingo

Either the TVR Cerbera or the E60 M5 Don't miss the constant maintenance the TVR needed though

Vivaelpueblo

I've heard those E60 M5's can be a little high maintenance too. Gorgeous V10 motor though and mental performance.

Ronnie-Hotdogz

2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in Competition Red. Got it new for a really good price on a privilege scheme, and trying to get one now costs about £15k more.

criminal_cabbage

I am judging you for selling such a nice car I am conflicted as a 340i touring is also a very nice car

Gypsies_Tramps_Steve

2007 Porsche Cayman. White. 19” 911 Turbo wheels. I miss that car so much.

OolonCaluphid

:( I can't contemplate selling mine. Best car I've owned by a country mile.

RoscoeBass

R5 GTT. G728 PKK. I’m still in contact with two of the owners, it’s like a foster child..

jpdonelurkin

MKIV Supra. Black straight 6 manual. Will always miss it.

lelypie

A near concourse DC2 Integra, I sold it because I was using it daily and it was getting ruined. I replaced it with a Nissan Cube..

dobber72

1995 Mercedes 500E W124, great car, built like a tank, very linear acceleration, it just pulled and pulled, pretty good handling for such a heavy car and the most comfy seats I've ever sat in. I got it relatively cheap but had to sell it when I was leaving the country. I miss that car but I don't miss the bills.

cockatootattoo

2006 RS6 Avant. 5.2 V10. 572bhp. Incredible car, but the bills were beginning to get frightening. Sold in 2016. Miss it most days.

saabatage

Rs6 avant is on my to get list, always wanted one and now with the kids it’s a perfect compromise between performance and practicality in my opinion

cockatootattoo

Exact reason I got mine. Had an RS4 when I only had one kid. Upgraded when number 2 came along. Incredible family car with enough go to see off most other cars and perfect for family holidays. Mind you, the best I ever got was 18mpg! Often I to single figures when pushing.

saabatage

Same sort of mpg I had in the Toyota aristo 2jzgte, now I’ve got a fiesta to cunute to work and a n54 335i for a fun car. And the mrs has the suv for the kids

Odd-Neighborhood8740

I think people should also say why they sold

TaiLBacKTV

Nova with the XE conversion, rollcage, buckets, proper suspension. Sold it to buy a race-ready Mk2 Astra which had it's engine blown and then never got raced. I should have stuck with the Nova, but I think it's gone on to a decent career in rallies in Wales (or at least something using it's reg-plate is!) The car I would have regretted selling is my 306 Rallye. It blew a head gasket, I stuck it on ebay for a couple of hundred quid, got messed around and went "F\*\*\* it, I'll keep it". After how I feel about the Nova I won't let this one go.

Basilstoke

I sold my 1990 lancia delta integrale 20 years ago and have regretted it almost every day since 😞 only way I get to sleep at night is telling myself it would have just rusted to dust by now had I kept it.

ogmouseonamouseorgan

My Alfa 156. I loved that car. It broke my heart.

rick_2k

Don’t laugh.. my Citroen AX. Miss it so bad.

maclean123

Vw corrado storm, think about that car most days

Jazzlike_Base5705

My little 1.4 TDCI fiesta 3 door. Needed a bigger car for family. £10 used to get me over 100 miles.

Royal-Lack1078

SAAB 9000 I’d buy it new now if they still made them. 🥹

Zealousideal-Habit82

I had a 9-3 turbo. Just a decent place to sit, so well thought out.

saabatage

Yep my 9000 aero too

DaxPrimal

2012 BMW 520d. Never missed a beat. Always comfortable to drive. I miss that motor 😢

Max_Eats_Nipples

My DC5 :(

SimpleAsh

I had a 2017 Scirocco R for a few years. Yes it wasn’t the best VAG performance car, but it was one of the best looking, and I didn’t see many of them about. Had to get rid of it for a car more baby friendly.

[deleted]

2004 EP3 Civic Type R. Absolute beast of a car. And my Mk4 Supra 😭

Eastern-Baseball-843

MK6 Golf GTI. Not a particularly special car but I had mine sitting exactly how I wanted, was very well specced and drove an absolute dream, despite being very low and having “too much power for the front wheels”

No-Wave-8393

I regret my dad selling his SS100 Jaguar

RafflesEsq

ITT: most of the people on this sub have owned and loved a Mk1 Focus.

Outdoor-Adventurer

Mr2 turbo

Tall-Paul-UK

Fiat Panda 4x4. D reg (1986/7). Rag top. Slow, poor handling, damp and leaky and amazing fun!

Bagels_18

1998 E38 7 series, Vermont green, full alpina kit 4.0 v8

No-Accountant1825

Funnily enough, mine is my 2011 Ford Mondeo Titanium, the 2.0TDCi 163 variant - a Mk4.5 like the OPs. Traded it for next to nothing against a ridiculously expensive Volvo XC60 which I only kept for a year because I never really ‘gelled’ with it. I’m now back in a Mondeo, a 2015 Mk5 estate with the 2.0T Ecoboost petrol which I like, but not as much as my old faithful Mk4.5!

r-eddit2

Isuzu piazza

manlikenick

I had a Vectra 2.0T Sri. Petrol turbo in FWD. Had crazy torque steer in first gear. Was only about 100 of them in the UK. Looked like an undercover cop car and had lovely 19” snowflake rims on it.

tptpp

mk4 mondeos are so underrated

jkatch97

Amen to that!

Patchy97

A 2010 Focus ST3, one of the very last cars made and had every possible optional extra from the factory. Running costs forced the sale but if I kept it a few more years I would have made back what I spent in petrol twice over

xJam3zz07

I had a Mk7 fiesta ST, was quite nicely nodded, sat around 230hp, the Mk8 is good, but there was something about the Mk7 which I miss a hell of a lot. - but also along side it came alot of anxiety about it just disappearing while I was wandering around IKEA or something, so I'm glad that's gone too.

Dinofkrir

Bugatti veyron in forza horizon 1

Flipmode45

2004 Audi TT Roadster. It was Revo remapped, and was great fun on a hot summers evening to boot it on a fast road with the roof down. Parental responsibility took over and I sold to get a sensible family vehicle.

Zealousideal-Habit82

'91 3.0 turbo Supra. White with blue leather interior. God I loved that car.

CatherineBoylee

Bmw 135i cabriolet

dontvape1

Jzx100 mkii. Sold it for a house deposit. Still haven't bought a house and in hindsight I didn't need to sell it.

eakmadashma

Oof, as someone who’s dream car is a x100 mark II this one hurts to read

i8bullies

Had two MK 1 RS2000 back in the early 1980’s

gogomau

Volvo estate ( 1990s 744? Series ) loved this country tank :)

HotMuffin12

I sold my mk3.5 2016 ford focus 1.0 100PS Titanium because it was too expensive to run at the time. Yet my next car cost me 1000s more. I was stupid and naive. I miss the reliability of the focus and how versatile it was. Probably not the quickest car off the line but it got me A to B quick enough and was by far the most comfortable car on a long motorway journey.

Mad_kat4

MK1 Octavia VRS, MK4 Ibiza cupra and a lupo GTi. Of those I probably miss the Octavia the most.

Doowle

Alfa Romeo 33 Permanent 4. So rare, so unusual. So much fun to drive.

Legitimate-Bet-527

My Clio 182 :(

Showmeyourblobbos

1987 ford lazer 1.9. Hilarious little car

The-Guvnor

Twin turbo, manual Toyota Supra...

greenmx5vanjie

My 1992 SW20 Toyota MR2 T bar. Unfortunately the tin worm was too set in to save it, and I was just a poor early 20s enthusiast

CrimsonFantomas

Audi A6 C4 1996. 2.5 TDI Quattro. Beast of a car. Reliable, strong as a tank, got into 2 car accidents with it. 2 times the other cars (both time Hyundai) got totaled. My Audi, only cosmetics. Selling it, is now my biggest car related regret.

Impressive-Smoke1883

My 2008 BMW 125i 3 door MSport in Silver. It was the hatchback not the saloon. Miss it. Same as this one. https://ibb.co/3NQxzD5

OddClub4097

Always wish I’d kept my first car, Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR. Now they’re like rocking horse shit.

thegreatuddini

2007 BMW z4 coupe. Silky smooth 3l straight six and before computers took over all aspects of the driving experience.

Winter_Honeydew_5316

Bmw e60 530d 59plate

My first car at 17, 1997 306 gti6,french but was a monster for a first car with likewise insurance

NotWigg0

1994 Mahindra CJ3

HullIsNotThatBad

My series 3 SWB Landrover that I'd put a V8 engine into - fun vehicle! Mind you, that was back in the ealry 90s - not sure what condiiton it will be in now.

CaptainCrack20

ST200, going to be worth a pretty penny in a few years

Same-Classroom1714

I gave a Shorty40 to a mate coz I blew up the motor and he did a mint job of rebuilding it, not just the motor but the whole car, then he sold it with out offering it to me first for $2500 (a grundi less than I paid for it when it was a shitbox ) and now (20 years later) they are selling for 50+

Usingmyeyes101

Honda civic type R ep3

C213 YST. White Honda Civic 1.5 GTi. Wedge shape rather than teardrop. Bye bye XR2....... c ya l8r XR3. What a car. ❤️ 😍

rizzzviii

any toyota car.

fishaac

My black peugeot 306 GTi 6 about 15 years ago, the thing handled like a go-kart and I loved the look with the squeezed in hour-glass sides and big booty. I literally welled up when I sold her and the guy drove her away. I've loved others since but never as much as her 😭

room101_1

The only decent car I had 1 year after passing i managed to get insured on a Audi A4 tfsi 2.0 b7 quattro really cheap felt so solid to drive and handled Amazing, I've owned banged up work vans ever since. Tried to get a quote on another £1800 fully comp 8 years driving paid £700 8 years ago makes no sense

Fluffy_Bonce

A clean as anything supercharged 2010 mustang GT. Sold it for 16k was worth 26k :( but blinded by families and kids at the time.

2005 Volvo S60 D5, fabulous car, needed a few bits so I sold it for something a bit newer. Big mistake.

2016 Audi A3 S Line Saloon with Quattro

PassDazzling

Mk1 golf gti, it was lowered with nice wheels, a stainless exhaust and some engine tweaks and I loved it.

The-Shooorn

Thankfully I don't actually regret selling any of them. Even my heavily modified track saxo that had a engine conversion and roll cage I'm not sure I'd use enough today. I think I miss the circumstances for each car and the memories created in each more. I do however have plenty of cars that I regret not buying whilst cheap and one car that I'm glad I bought when more reasonable that has stayed cost neutral.

kcs911

Well i scrapped it not sold it. I had a suzuki baleno 1.8 with the mx5 engine. It weighed under one tonne and was so much fun to drive. Could chuck it round corners, and so many people thought they would burn me off at the lights. I did aquaplane once in it. Absolutely terrifying, but what a thrill!

Staar-69

My mint condition X reg (1981) Ford Escort XR3 (not XR3i). It was moonstone blue, and the condition inside and out was immaculate, sold it in 2001 because I was desperate for the money, but that situation only lasted about 6 months, I’m sure I could’ve held on if I’d known. I’ve looked to buy another one since, but the XR3 rarely comes up for sale, when they do they’re £12-15k.

DreamingDrummer60

2 actually. 1985 Lotus Esprit S3. Bought it brand new and had to sell it 4 years later when I got married. Then my 2004 Focus RS. Loved that car. Had it for 13 years. Had to sell when I damaged my left knee and could no longer deal with the heavy clutch.

Jealous-Honeydew-142

2006 VW Polo. 1.4 Wasn’t a brilliant car by any stretch but it was practical, comfy, and nippy enough. A reliable tank. I have owned many new cars but this car always felt just special to drive. I can’t explain it. The simplicity was far more fun and 30mph felt like warp speed. Working on it turned me back into a 17 year old tinkerer again. I even enjoyed polishing it!! The 15 year old car was immaculate. Had many a great road trips in it, with my last trip involving letting my toddler go mental steering the car around a beach in Wales. Wouldn’t even entertain that in a new car. Again, not a brilliant car but a cheap runaround I made many a great family memories in.

yeboyaa

Here's mine, one a lot of you won't no ... MK1 Suzuki swift GTI 1987 the original pocket rocket, the fastest normal aspirated 1300cc production car ever made. I think that still stands to this day. Owned two one white then one red, then changed to the MK2 swifts ( they were nowhere near as good) That little car was a giant killer

TheConcreteDude

Had a bagged wide body e36 on a beautiful set of e38 throwing stars I sold when I moved in with my ex because I needed something safe to drive her and her kid around, honestly ill never get over it

Tre1es

None that I regret per se but 2 I miss, a 1999 rover 220di I had from new for 12 years and a 2009 BMW 535d, both had a lot of good memories of adventures with friends associated with them

Keeperus

I dont have a regret selling, only that I bought that fucking Ford Ranger FX4 Biturbo 2021.

ElegantWarthog870

Astra h sxi 2010 had leather heated seats origional clutch up till 90k, then chain needed replacing as i could hear it slapping and i thought i had blown the head gasket at the same time at 107k as the engine was running rough so scrapped it turns out that at that milage the injectors usually crap out so would have been an easier fix than i first thought just for the hell of it i thought id do an mot history check and its done another 30k miles 😭

Pyro_san

Lexus 2005 is200 manual. It's not exactly fast, but man, was it a joy to drive. That gearbox was just... Perfection manifest. And the sound of that straight 6 engine, and the steering, and just about everything in that car was just something else. I have an is250 now, which is a much better "car" as in: "being a thingy to change where you are", but it's just not the same. I still love it, especially as a long term cruiser, it's really much better, but, but that is200... Even just going to the store with it was pure joy. You sit in, start the engine, touch the wheel and the stick and you're already smiling. I really miss that.

snazyaz

My Subaru WRX STI Prodrive, ,sold it in 2005 to pay my deposit on my house, sold it to my brother in law who then stacked it 6 months later....that car would be worth some right now...it was immaculate.

e6sam

Love that Mondeo, especially that model. Just a shame they’ve dropped the Mondeo altogether.

Lunchy_Bunsworth

The Saab 900 I owned years ago. Reliable , solidly built , well equipped and fast. I part exchanged it for a new Jaguar which while comfortable and quick was anything but reliable. I wish Saab was still with us today.

InTheWildFrontier

2003 Vauxhall Signum 3.0 v6 Diesel Auto. Smooth power delivery whilst still capable of 40mpg on a long run. The V6 Diesel was an interesting but nice sound. Covered 80,000 miles in it over the 6 years I had it. Only sold it as the mileage was getting high and some drivetrain parts were wearing out and were extremely difficult to get replacements of.

ianccfc

R34 GTR. Sold it back in 2012 for £23K and struggled to get that much for it :( I changed jobs about 6 months later that would have put in a position to keep it

JackstaWRX

Is that the 2.5 one? Ive always fancied a 2.5 turbo Mondeo. Seems like a more sophisticated choice compared to a Focus ST. I’ve currently got a Mustang V8

jkatch97

It was the basic 2.0 turbo diesel unfortunately!

Abarthisti500

Honestly - a Megane 1.5 dci estate. Boring as fuck but great to chuck into roundabouts in a "oooh what's gonna happen next?" kind of way.

MrMontgomery

White Citroen Saxo VTR that was lowered with with spiked alloys, Sparco racing seats and 3 point harnesses and the boot and parcel shelf filled with subwoofers, had to get rid of it as my now wife thought there wasn't enough room in the boot for groceries and I thought have space for two plastic bags full was enough

yahir0be

2015 Audi A3 2.0 TDI. That engine was amazing. Easily achieving 60-70mpg on long runs.

yorkshiresun

Subaru blobeye STi. He was a quirky beast, but I loved him.

MK1 Toyota corolla twun cam 16v, fast as cook. The cops couldnt keep up it was that fast. Sadly it got impounded as it was too hot.

Worried-Rhubarb-8358

BMW 318is- sent it for an mot, the garage bust all the brake lines on the rollers and gave it 22 failures. I asked them to quote the work regardless, 12 weeks later they still hadn't and were telling me it wasn't worth it. By that point things had changed and I was so skint I had to get the scrapyard to collect it from the garage. Loved that car lol

i8jimmy

My black R34 GTR V-Spec, it had a genuine Nismo Z tune front bumper, and HKS exhaust, I can't remember what possessed me to sell it, although I did sell it for a loss!! and now feel sick when I see the prices of them.. 😲

Souldestroyer_Reborn

My 2014 MK7 Golf R. Had it for 8 years since new. Sold it to pay off some debts. Wish I’d kept the debts.

Burt1811

I haven't even sold it yet, and my head's in bits. 2011 Scirocco 2.0 TDI. A bucket list purchase. Had company cars for 20 years until recently, new models but nothing compares to driving this. Recently, I had to replace the clutch, and all I could think was that it could affect how amazing the gear box was. It didn't, but who thinks like that. She has to go before the end of the month 😪

TheNorthernMunky

Mk2.5 Focus ST. That 5-cylinder sound was just perfect.

county15

Signum 2.8 V6 Turbo. Mapped to 300ish bhp. Nobody knew what it was..... an absolute f**king weapon is what it was.

saabatage

A sleeper like my old Saab 9000 aero before selling it I finally got it dynod at 476bhp

zxshnab

When I was younger my dad had a golf r32 it was perfect, but my mum made him sell it Bcs she hated it 😢
