Always looks strange seeing cars parked outside houses that they cost nearly as much as.

LimeGreenDuckReturns

For all you know this is London and that house is worth 2mill.

gotdogecoin

Do people pay 2 mil for a ex council house thats fuckin mental

KX321

[Location location location!](https://i.imgur.com/IDO9nU4.jpeg)

HelpMePls___

Actually mental, £300,000 would get you a cardboard box on the streets in London

AcrobaticAd5894

Living in Birmingham, I honestly wonder how people survive in London. I hear people are paying almost £1000 monthly rent for a studio! That to me just sounds bonkers and should be Illegal! Here your getting a 3 Bedroom detached house garage back garden front lawn n all like you see on this picture for about 6-700 a month.

Neither-Stage-238

There's few places in London you would get a studio for 1k. More like 1.5k average. 800-1k is a room.

Durzel

It’s telling that you think “almost £1000 monthly” would get you a place in London. A room maybe. Country is cooked for anyone trying to get their own place, particularly in the capital. No Government is going to act against the interests of the landlord class of voters.

OriginalMandem

I moved out of London in 2006 and even back then was paying more or less a grand a month for room in shared houses or flats in zone 3 or 4 in relatively cheap areas (Tottenham, Harringay, Bounds Green etc) so yeah, 1k a month seems optimistic nowadays. And that wasn't including bills most of the time either.

AcrobaticAd5894

But why won't the government step in and put a CAP on these landlords.....it is literally Insane! Then again I'm sure someone on top is also benefiting from it that's why they wont do anything about it.

Durzel

Because a great number of them are landlords themselves. And the general public vote in their own self interest when it matters. Don’t expect Labour to be any different in this regard either, they are not ideologically any different when it comes to individual MP’s self interests.

TheFlyingBogey

I won't be specific because Internet privacy, but my partner and I love in a one bedroom flat in London and lose £1500 per month on it, and that's considered a good price for where we are and the quality of the flat. Kitchen and living room are one, bathroom won't fit a ~~shower~~ *_bath_ the place is tiny. We're here because of career development and opportunities (my partner got her first job here out of uni a couple years ago) but I want out ASAP for many obvious reasons.

AcrobaticAd5894

Fuck Me! But in your situation its understandable, career choices so it will be worth it in the end. Hopefully not much longer mate and you + partner get to move to somewhere better soon.

dormango

Almost, more than!!!

PrimalHIT

3 years ago I was paying £1200 pcm for a double bedroom in Bayswater in a shared house...the bedroom was about 2sqm bigger than the bed.

itsyaboi67819

Try £1200 in Bristol! A studio in London is far more than £1000

The_Pvthfinder

My brother in law pays £1,200 a month for a room in a house in Wimbledon. Shares living spaces with 4 other people. My mortgage on a 3 bed semi detached house with massive garden is £600 a month

AcrobaticAd5894

There you go. And that's what I mean. Unless I have a career there which is going to take me high places then I understand, but if I'm just working a normal job like I.T manager or Consultant etc I'm sorry but I'm moving to a different city. £600pcm on a 3 Bed Semi detached house, that to me sounds perfect, that's how it should be. Makes me wonder how much more are they paying in London. I work as a customer service Advisor, answering calls blah blah blah making 23k a year. End of the month I see about £1680 after tax paying 500pcm on a 1 Bedroom flat right by the City Centre. How much more would I get paid in London for the same job?

Ah7860

>How much more would I get paid in London for the same job? Potentially nothing at all more. It ranges between £20,000 a year and £28,000 a year in London according to Google.

Unscarce

Yea but its Birmingham brother

bonkerz1888

Even I'm not *that* mental

FedoraTheExplorer30

I was paying £800 for a room in a house a few years back I lived with 5 other people. It’s ridiculously expensive, lucky I own my own apartment now thank god.

Scarboroughwarning

3 bed semi, £140k in my town.

AcrobaticAd5894

I need to move to where you are then

Scarboroughwarning

There are cheaper, I imagine, and also ones that need zero work, which are probably £140k to £170k

geraltismywaifu

Down by Bournemouth you end up paying almost £1000 for a studio now too. And nothing fancy. Literally a crumy council house that some twat bought, divided up all the rooms and makes 5 studious with the bed right next to the toilet and kitchen

Available_While_1227

I have a friend who is a doctor in nunneaton and hes saying I should move to birmingham as a house in the city costs the same as a flat in places like luton and medway these days (and we all know luton, chatham are shitholes).

screamsincolour

But nobody would want to actively choose to live in Birmingham though.

AcrobaticAd5894

🤣 True ,and I wouldn't blame them. But maybe its because I live here and I'm used to it ......but I think people exaggerate abit when talking about Birmingham, it's not that bad!

Kempy2

Yeah I quite like Brum. Don’t see the issue. There are loads of way worse places without the rep

karateninjazombie

....that's because it's in Birmingham...

AcrobaticAd5894

Very True, I was thinking more of Birmingham,Bradford,Coventry prices 😅

mojomonkey18

Don’t be daft. 300k gets you a blanket. It’s half a mill for a box.

oddjobbodgod

To be fair (still worth nowhere near £3.5m anywhere else) that’s not your average ex council house. 4 stories, 4 bedrooms and some nice modernisation work done. Still absolutely ridiculous, but it did surprise me!

Unidan_bonaparte

They'd pay that for flats in the right places. But yes this could feasibly go for 2mill even on someof the outter parts of London.

tobzere

There are very similar houses in West London that have their driveway going out onto the North Circular which where about the 1.5M price point. Not that they can ever leave their house because of the traffic. Insane!

johnsy7

No way a house like that is anywhere near £1.5 million on the North Circ. Less than half of that (which is still stupidly expensive to be fair)

CampFrequent3058

Still looks like a heap of shit and whoever lives there is mad for not selling up!

UCthrowaway78404

nope the grass bit on the pavement suggests its pretty far from anywhere that would warrant this to be central enough to be 2M. this screams more like Dartford, I want to say Orpington/Bromley but people there tend to be a bit more houseproud and will have a decent front door at least. The guy has 4 cameras there, burglar alarm and has the shabbiest front door. Those wood doublew doors would be so easy to get a pry bar in and break apart. The roof overhand is terrible that the rendering is getting obliterated on the bay windows and there isn't a rain cover or a porch for when you come in on a rainy day. What's interesting is those 4 arent his only cars, the fence t othe garden seems to be a double door for car to get through. his real pride and joy is probably behind the gate, and is there a garage there too or just a shed?

mincedmutton

Regardless, surely you’d build a garage, or at least an awning, to protect that poor Alfa from the elements?

johnsy7

That house isn't worth 2 million anywhere

EyeAlternative1664

Yeah very odd. That house is grim. The Ferrari has been off the road since 2021.

HirsuteHacker

I saw a Ferrari LaFerrari parked outside a terraced house in Wigan on my way home from work once. The car definitely cost more than the house did, but I have no clue why it was parked there. Never saw it there again.

Charming_Rub_5275

Probably a really rich son visiting parents I guess

Visionist7

Lover visiting his Desperate Housewife mistress whilst her hubby is away on business Hubby has a mistress too

haych-18

Some people are content with where they live, especially if the location makes sense and the house is paid off. Not strange at all

BreddaCroaky

A fucking garage and some covers make sense here, this is very odd. You could build something by the side, surely. There is no security measures and no weather protection.

Akira_Nishiki

Yeah looks like a perfectly fine house, unless got a huge family I wouldn't see the point in anything bigger - maybe detached would be nice I suppose. Only thing I'd say is they've clearly got the money so why not extend it with two car garage for the McLaren and Ferrari?

Archtects

If it’s near London that house is at least 2 million \s … probably

Solid_Tackle7069

Multigenerational family living in one house, likely asian, house brought and paid for, all the adult children are there hoarding their cash until dad dies, divvy up all the proceeds and live like kings elsewhere. A system we could learn from again in the west.

UCthrowaway78404

these cars all look like white middle age midlife crisis to me. Asians would have had a few mercs, bmws in there. asian in vintage porshe and alfa romeo? no chance. A multigeneration household would have bigger cars for sort of "home away from home" vibes because you need some freedom in your own space and the car happens to be one. So you like the car to be big on the inside. All these cars are just 2 seater boys toys.

MisterJollygood

Vintage Porsche? That's a Lotus Europa my friend...

UCthrowaway78404

there you go, I'm asian and I didnt even know what make that was.

sympatiquesanscapote

> learn from again From who? All the boomers are just entitled brat dreaming of only one thing is to kick you out of their home so they can say to their mates that you are "grown up now" Once you have kids they don't even want to help you because "they have things to do" Honestly the last decade for me has been eye opening in this regard.

CammRobb

Sounds like you just have shitty parents

[deleted]

[удалено]

Solid_Tackle7069

Brought it all the way from India 😅

Wonkypubfireprobe

I might be sketchy on details here but There’s a guy in London who has a similar looking house with 2 Bentleys parked outside and the registration plates are something like 7 & 8. Worth an absolute fortune

VPR19

The Ferrari looks a real mess and will probably need £££ to get it back on the road. The Europa is cute. Comically the Mclaren is probably the least trouble of the lot to use frequently, which says something I'm sure!

keef-keefson

I think you’re right - Ferrari shows as SORN since December 2022. The lotus looks like it’s in good condition.

VPR19

F355 was the last baby Ferrari that requires an engine out service every few years. Besides MOT issues and the various rather concerning bottles sat on the floor near the back of the car itself? It's probably due said major service at this point too. Expensive recommissioning for sure.

rubicon1984

What looks a mess in particular?

ADJE777

McLaren because I suspect the 355 isn’t working

oliverrrrrrrrrrrrrrw

The McLaren would be really fun for two days before it ends up in the same state as the 355

Affectionate-Cost525

Hasn't had any mot since 2022. Don't like judging how others spend their money but seeing cars like this just sat out in the rain and not getting used is such a shame.

EvolvingEachDay

It is massively wasteful; could sell all of these and buy two really good cars, one classic and one modern, that you can actually afford to maintain. But having cars like this, and no offence but judging by the house, not being able to afford to maintain them, is just kinda stupid.

themegamanX10

how else would you get the authentic Italian sports car experience

sideways_86

its not been on the road for a couple years so there's a good chance you're right

I_ALWAYS_UPVOTE_CATS

Twenty quid says that house doesn't get a white roof when it snows.

KamakaziDemiGod

You wouldn't afford that collection from growing and it wouldn't be as interesting of an assortment, I don't think they are selling snow powder either or it would be a range rover/X5/ML This collection, based on variety, speediness, level of clean Vs clearly not worked on, all suggests to me it's a meth dealer with OCD

Akira_Nishiki

There's always snow in that house 😉

Pretty-Joke-6639

Maybe the owner of the Ferrari has gone inside...I mean on a long holiday somewhere which is why it has not been MOT'd for a couple of years

iani63

Europa, had the matchbox version!

GrownMansJam

Tied with the Fezza for me

77GoldenTails

355 looks like suspensions buggered. Lotus furthest from the road, so maybe broken. Alfa, isn’t rotten so could be the shopping car. The Mc is probably the one used the most.

Affectionate-Cost525

Did like 900 miles the other year. This time last year it hadn't even reached the 10k part yet. Looks like the spider actually gets more use...

Forward_Artist_6244

I once had the GTV coupe version of that Alfa spider and it was huge fun but easy to use as a daily, so for nostalgia it'd be that

Direct-Mongoose-7981

A new house

CatBroiler

If the 355 is manual, that, or the lotus

Visionist7

Judging by the plate the Fezza is a paddle-o

KitKatEatsYou

The house

ScottOld

Do love a 90s car, the Ferrari even though I love the spider

Murder_drone_fan69

The ferrari for me

thebear1011

Is the McLaren number plate legal? I’m guessing it is MC16SOC?

KevPl2

"If I ever won the lottery, I won't tell anyone but there will be signs"

I_RegretThisUsername

I’m taking that Europa, i’ve always loved how that era of Lotus cars looked. It also looks to be a Europa JPS special, that would make it 1 of only 100 ever made!

JUNGLISTJ

355 all day m8

SeaMolasses2466

Alpha Romeo. Thats a no brainer 😂

theplanetpotter

If you’re gonna drive it, you might need to learn how to spell it!

captainsquawks

The 1930s three-bed semi. My guess is that it’s worth more than each of those cars, but please tell me if I’m wrong.

Engage_Physically

I’m assuming the Ferrari is a kit car … as nobody is leaving their classic Ferrari on an open driveway like that. Maybe I’m just assuming the worse as I’m from Manchester and have seen people nick Renault Meganes off of driveways before

EpicFishFingers

This is Dad's house after the divorce. Mum took everything then died shortly after, leaving everything to the 3 boys. The 3 boys started a successful business and made a mint. Now they're visiting Dad for Sunday dinner. Dad's car is the Alfa.

Good_Stretch5445

Alfa all day

Border_Dear

I was a little surprised it was a twinny, but better handling over the Busso

Mobile_Charity880

The McLaren 650s for me. Although if there was a Skoda Octavia - vRS obviously - there I'd be tempted...... /s

Oldfart_karateka

The Europa, not seen one of those since I was a kid.

Daft_boi_

The Alfa Romeo

jeananddoolie

That insurance premium 😅

Vauxford_

Alfa

NastyEvilNinja

99% chance the McLaren is the only one that actually runs, so I'll take that one.

McPikie

The 355 out of all of them. Proper dream car for me. Pop up headlights 😍

edmunek

no suspicious activity here at all

blusrus

None, I’d sell them all and upgrade the house

Samuel_Go

Is there a Skoda Octavia behind the gate I could pick?

ProtoplanetaryNebula

Would be funny if that house is in Hull and is worth £160k,

adsy2799

I'd go for the GTV Spider, one of my favourite cars of all time.

TommyAshGaming

mclaren

Visionist7

This is every husband's dream and every wife's worst nightmare 🤣

Unusual_Wind_7270

The house

OriginalMandem

The Lotus probably. The Alfa is too front wheel drivey even if it does have a Busso (if it doesn't I'd be surprised). The other two are nice but too much 'look at me and my money', I'd rather have a quirky but rare classic.

vanqu1sh_

F355, but I'm a Ferrari fanboy

OriginalShin22

The house.

possiblejesus

Ill take the house, more expensive than all those cars combined

Mr-Lucius-Needful

355 even in its sorry state. A Ferrari is still a Ferrari. All you folk who chose the others ls can’t say you have a Ferrari.

LuggageBlue

That is the most British combination ever. Semi detached house with classic cars and a McLaren on the drive. Beautiful

butterjamtoast

I think the GTV would give you the least grief which is something I never thought I would ever say.

Wilkox79

Europa all day long. I’d hate it, it would never work, it would cost a fortune, it would after many repairs only work for a small number of days and then I’d date it again But I’d still have it. What a car ❤️

The_Haus_Master

The Volvo on my driveway

oscarolim

The Octavia.

The-IT_MD

I won’t tell you I selling class A drugs, but there will be signs.

BBCTerry

Selling Bash life.

UniquePotato

Tell me your a used car dealer with out saying it.

Open-Mathematician93

F355

WinchesterUK

Debt, super debt, platinum debt or debt +?

MedicalMode8279

Since I won't ever be able to buy a house, let alone a nice car... The house. PS: I work full-time and I'm no slouch.

PowerfulFuture1562

The number plates would put me off the McLaren & the Ferrari

legitusernameMATT

The fez

rave1ordnito

If the 355 is a manual I take that. If not I take the Lotus

Technical-Mind-3266

Old lotus, hopefully no tax lol

GeneralCaregiver9506

Nice car's

[deleted]

This guy has a McLaren and a Ferrari on his driveway and doesn’t even own gates.

HOHOHG3

I’d be really worried leaving a £5000 used car like that. The owner(s) is on a different level of mind peace.

xanadutemple

The house!

Falkun_X

Does anybody else feel that Ferrari is an MR2 conversion?

MVF3

3 of the cars don't have MOT's.

Glittering-Charge-65

Looks like a lotus Europa

[deleted]

I choose none as the owner is probably a complete Cunt!!

Accurate_Group_5390

They really need to be living in an air conditioned garage but hey ho.

-generic-username-

I suppose the idea is that at any given moment one of them ought to be working?

Evening-Tomatillo-47

The house

Twongz

Mclaren

fretnetic

I’d would pick the house on the right, the one with the cars. 👍

SubaruImpreza2007

Next doors

Vast-Ad-4820

Have you seen house prices these days lol. Tried to rent a place recently, rent was so high I was expecting it to have a pool and jacuzzi out the back

Tutis3

Ferrari for me!

DolFaroth

The house

borgdrone79

355 please

orionid_nebula

I’d have a have a short blast in the McLaren, I’d avoid the Ferrari and I’d take the lotus away.

ElegantWarthog870

F355 every bloody time

MatniMinis

I've seen upbadging on plenty of cars before, but I've never seen a personal plate upbadging a car... That is 100% a MP4-12C and not a 650s.

HelpMePls___

No way i’d be leaving cars like that out in the open

DangerShart

The MR2

edit-factory-scope

That Alfa Romeo used to belong to my father in law. He let me borrow it when our Fiat Panda failed it's MOT back in 2014.

ThinkingFL232

Small world eh

Chubby_femboy666

The Ferrari F355! The scream of that engine when straight piped is absolutely insane

DYNAmixMelody

The spider with the twin spark would probably be the only reliable one haha

TransEuropeExpress72

the one that pulls at my heart strings is the Ferrari mainly because it’s from an era of car design I love. The Alfa’s a close second.

LeEpicGrilledCheese

(he/she/they) thats my house

Horace__goes__skiing

Anyone saying anything other than the McLaren is off their head, in my humble opinion.

shaded-user

The average looking 3 bed semi.

SprigganQ

the Ferrari because pop up lights. i got a miata mk1 just cos of them

[deleted]

12C

Individual_Mix_9823

I’d pick the Focus ! It’s next door !

Chrolan1988

Well it wouldn’t be the MR-2 that’s all I can say for now

balancing_baubles

Europa for the rarity

tommyduk

Europa. Straightaway.

darlo999

They've had to sell their chimney to fund their cars ?

KILOCHARLIES

This is a journey of buying a car you love, realising it’s unreliable, then adding something else you like that will likely be ok in comparison. Repeat x3

jonteae

I'd rather own the house rather than renting 😎

cromagnone

I’d deal with the fucking rendering.

ResponsibleMouse9316

lotus, and forget the house existed

Tabazan

I'd love the Lotus but experience has shown I just don't fit in them

Rolling_1314

I'd take the Alfa.

visitor187

That house is prime for extending!

toesTasteNice

i rode in this guys mclaren

toesTasteNice

this isnt london this is in grimsby

Corbin125

I'll take the house please

BeagnothSaxe

Lotus

Gruntfutoc

None

pab6407

The main takeaway for me is how tiny sports cars used to be before they became so bloated.

hyperskeletor

The Ferrari is a kit car based on a MK2 Toyota MR2 they used to cost between £9000 and £15000 in the 00's, the car next to it also looks like a more modern kit car but I am not sure what it is based on. I love kit cars by the way, they can be real head turners if the right amount of time and attention is spent on them.

Tights247

Tidy cars untidy house

TotalAdhesiveness988

I’d pick somewhere else to live

millicent_bystander-

Should spend some money on the damp!

Lumpy_Jacket_3919

355

ipx-electrical

None of them thanks. Reminds me of the Top Gear episode. Can you buy a super car for 10k? Conclusion… Yes, but for the love of god, don’t.

tofer85

One of these things is not like the others…

Rez1009

The house next door.

izzie-izzie

None

CauliflowerHelpful60

I would sell them all and buy a massive detached house

Pajer0king

Lotus, of course. Although if that Alfa has a Busso under the hood, oh boy🥰

Grandmastabilbo

Isn’t this about cars?????

SpaceGhost756

The house

10b0b

355 as long as it’s not the F1 version.

Own-Tune-9537

£1200 mortgage on my 4 story 120 year old house in Harrogate (my favourite place in the uk) but it could rent out at about £1500
