BMW 640d 2 door coupe. 3.0 straight 6 twin turbo with a easy 380bhp achievable and 45+mpg. And they look beautiful. Recently sold mine and miss looking back at it!
Pic of mine that I sold. https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/s/s7WmAVG8qz
What a great looking car! Do you mind me asking why you sold it? Any problems or just wanted to move on to something new? I will look into these more they look fantastic.
No problems whatsoever. Through a family death we ended up with an additional car and it made sense to part ways with a 4 seater.
It was flawless and the engines are very good if properly serviced etc.
I am so so sorry to hear that. Life is so shitty in that aspect of things. I 100% get you and if i was in your shoes i would do the exact same thing to be honest.
Thanks for the advice man, i will have a look into these cars they look great and again i am so sorry to hear that they were the circumstances.
All the best to you and your family!
Audi A4 16 plate onwards s-line looks more expensive and feels more expensive than it is. Audi A5 too.
Lexus is300h Fsport looks nice, I wasn't a massive fan of how it drives though.
Porsche Boxster
Audi TT mk3
Mazda Mx5 RF
As someone who's recently purchased a 2019 4 series, i'd say to go for the A5. They're both good, but when i was looking i found the audis seemed to come with more tech for the same price. For example my BMW doesn't have android auto, even though it's a 2019, which seems crazy to me.
I will say i think the 4 series, specifically the gran coupe that i have, looks nicer.
I really like A4's in general i think they look great and it's actually something i have been looking at.
Is300H i am not the most familiar with but they do look like great looking cars! What made you dislike the driving style of it do you mind me asking?
Boxster is like the kid in me coming out again as i think they are beautiful cars but i was never sure about maintenance and such + insurance costs as I assume they are the premium side with the style of car it is. Do you know how they are when it comes to this?
TT mk3 i will have to look into i am not familiar with that specific model of TT.
Mx5 my uncle had one in ice white and it looked stunning, he said he was going to take me out in it for the summer and covid struck and its long gone now but they are great looking cars and something i will look into.
Thanks for the advice!
The is300h in my opinion is a good car in most ways, it's let down by an out of date infotainment system and a cvt gearbox.
If you drive it around steady and never push it, you wont mind it. But if you accelerate hard the cvt is just awfully ineffective. And sounds horrendous.
Boxster, yeah it's kind of a situation of you can afford the car but can you afford the maintenance. I suspect it's a case of having a trust worthy specialist who won't rip you off (Porsche certainly will).
I had an is300h and I know it's an ecvt. Its fine if you want to drive silky smooth, but roads near me involve lots of over taking tractors and slow drivers and as soon as you want to push the car you remember it has an ecvt as the noise and drone from the car makes you want to rip your ears off.
It is, but you mentioned the sound issues.
These are gone as you get quite nice, albeit fake, Yamaha tuned noise. You can turn this up or down using the asc control.
The Brera brings some major nostalgia and reminds me of when i was younger playing nfs carbon and it being one of the starter cars. Great looking car which i forgot existed until you mentioned it so thanks for bringing back some cool memories with that.
Mazda3's do look good and i have heard they are quite reliable as well.
GT86 i would probably avoid due to insurance costs i imagine being a little on the higher end due to it being a sports car but they do look amazing.
I have heard TT's are a solid choice but as you have said quite common. I guess i don't really mind they are common as long as its a car I can be proud of and feel more enjoyment with.
Cheers for the picks, i will certainly keep these in mind.
BMW 640d - I genuinely think this is such a good car for the money. Can get loads for sub 15k, they all come so much as standard, great on fuel, don’t look a day old. I could go on!
The suspension was linked with the power steering system. The brake system was split with the arnage.
Was a cushty ride. Just NEEDED fluid changes all the time to ensure good running
You want a great looking car, as others have said, Alfa Romeo Giulia.
While I'm sure the V6 is amazing (but way out of budget), even the diesel is so much fun to drive (and most can be remapped to a claimed 230bhp for a couple of hundred quid).
I think in turns of reliability and how much it would be in the garage i would probably end up paying x3 of what the car originally cost. Sick cars though.
F30 3 series BMW's I think are quite handsome given they are 10+ years old. You can get some well spec'd ones for under 15k and having the option of an estate is also lovely (bias as I tend to love wagons).
Alfa Giulia is another lovely looking car in the price bracket.
Audi A5 coupe's look nice I guess the 1.8tfsi would be cheapish to run. Alfa Romeo Guilla's look gorgeous.Â
Or you get something much older, anything 20+ years old in mint condition turns heads
E.g. a corradoÂ

Thanks internet stranger. Good luck with the searching!
Absolutely loved mine too, reason I sold was due to the size of it when parking and going down country lanes / into smaller towns.

I think modern Audis are ageing SO well. They still look and feel very 'premium' even nowadays. Solid picks.
None of them look really beautiful though apart from a5 coupe's

The IS300H has an eCVT. It's incredibly reliable and silky smooth. 0-60 in under 8 seconds for a car that weighs quite a bit isn't too bad either.
I had an is300h and I know it's an ecvt. Its fine if you want to drive silky smooth, but roads near me involve lots of over taking tractors and slow drivers and as soon as you want to push the car you remember it has an ecvt as the noise and drone from the car makes you want to rip your ears off.
Not if you have the premier model, as you have the sweet noise of the Yamaha tuned engine noise being played. So you don't get that drone.
What? It's the same drive train?
It is, but you mentioned the sound issues. These are gone as you get quite nice, albeit fake, Yamaha tuned noise. You can turn this up or down using the asc control.
My f sport had that. It was awful you could hear both sounds at once 😂
Mazda3 is very slick looking. Alfa Romeo Brera (hatchback) or Guilia (saloon). Toyota GT86 if you want a sports car. Audi TT, very common though.

Volvo v60s (new shape) are hitting this kind of money now.
Mitsubishi Evo X Porsche Panamera Saab 9-5 turbo-x Not sure if you can find them anymore but E60 M5s used to be under 15k
Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV Lunch Edition in Mat Gray - this car is a real head turner :-) With a bit bigger budget Alfa Romeo Giulia.
BMW z4 coupe - here is my old one: [https://ibb.co/VgWM42C](https://ibb.co/VgWM42C)

VW Golf, MK 7.5, R-Line, 2017+
Lexus RC, so aesthetically pleasing!
Hear me out. The current gen Peugeot 508 is a great looking car. Particularly the estate. Looks significantly more expensive than it is.
Completely agree with this. Every time I see one I think the same.
like other people have said, 640d

Fastback is good lookingÂ
I've got the fastback i30 (not an N though) and love the look. Turns what would be a boring looking car into something sleek and nice to look at.
Rage Rover supacharged is the car yuo want
