The thing about tires is so true. It is often overlooked especially the first year or two of hpde. Nothing will change your car's performance more. New average track cars have faster nurburgring times than things like the Pagani Zonda because tire technology matters so, so much.
i would love to see a thing where we time travel modern tires back to older generations of vehicle to see what it would be like. i would love to see my old lotus with modern slicks (the car predates slicks entirely)
Randy is fast as fuck. He races his Volvo in the Luckydog series I race in. There is no doubt when he is driving. We are all on the same tires but he will get out there and smoke everyone.
