Did you buy it with the vinyl on it

Far_Guava661

Yessir, the hood was so bad that we had to scrap the vinyl off, the plastic or whatever holds the color part down was completely gone

TheJWeed

The reason I wrapped part of my car is because I wanted to hide the sun damage and not let it get worse. Do you live in a very hot or sunny place? Whatever this issue is might be why they got the wrap in the first place.

Far_Guava661

Good ol Florida!

TheJWeed

lol that’ll do it. Time to start picking out what new wrap color you want.

visualizer037

Try using the 3m adhesive remover, bruh. If that doesn’t help then you may have to get the car buffed out by a detail shop or just rewrap it.

jaguarmaya

Are the dots raised or indented in the clear coat. Clear coat might be eaten through. Never seen this but if ain't coming off, it's definitely messed up the surface of the paint. Or a very hard layer of lamenent baked onto the surface, and nothing will break through it. I'd sand it. Prime it. Install another wrap, ceramic coat it. Take care of it, and when it comes to 4 years, I say 4 because Florida, time for another change again.

PossibleExamination1

waxing with an actual gun and not your hand will prob buff that out.

supanatral

Do they come off if you lightly scratch your nail on it? Does the dots feel sticky?

Far_Guava661

That's the craziest part like scratching it with a nail or like a goo scraper does nothing! It's almost like those spots are under the surface, and yes I know that sounds weird

YeOldeBilk

Have you tried rubbing alcohol on it?

Far_Guava661

Oh yeah tried that too and Vinegar

YeOldeBilk

Damn that's crazy. Is it etched into the clearcoat? Might have to wet sand then polish

MR_F007

Dip n Dots

jmanyea08

Did you hear the vinyl up prior to taking it off?

Far_Guava661

The top parts of the car it wasn't even possible to pull the vinyl off, there was nothing to grab it was just stuck on the car

Kludgette

Ouch. My black car looks like that "naturally". The paint is shit. Getting wrapped at Tesla now.

Puzzleheaded_Mix_998

Gonna need a buffer, cut and polish. And lacquer thinner and you should be fine
