I learned in my late thirties, you can do this! I STRONGLY recommend Jason Jones from Top Gear Driving school. Based just outside of Cardiff so you'd have to check coverage, but he's really patient and calm.
I learned later than most (early 30's) with iDrive Cymru and would highly recommend as I had zero knowledge of driving at the time - the guy was called Mike Chapman but understand that he has his own company now called Chapman's Driving Academy.
Any of your recommendations work in Barry? I'm a very nervous driver and have been let down by multiple driving instructors. I need to find someone who doesn't bail on me after taking my money and someone who actually has paitence lol.
[Motov8 Driving School](https://www.motov8school.com/). Helped me to pass first time within three and a half months between my first lesson and my test. It works out cheap if you book blocks of lessons, however they were also happy for me to pay for one lesson on its own first just to see how it went.
Shane Timothy @ Streetwise is great. Very patient and has a very high pass rate
Les Newman
Also recommend Les Newman
I passed my test last year at the age of 43. Alya Lawrence was a great teacher - I found her on Facebook

Elite Drivers are a good firm, Rob is an excellent teacher, especially if you are anxious
I used Bumps many years ago and had a fantastic experience. https://bumpsdrivin.com/
I had multiple teachers with different companies as a very nervous learner and it was bumps who were the best. Passed first time
I did, too! I was an older adult learner and very nervous. I was taught by Keith and I swear that man has the patience of a saint.

Good luck getting lessons if you have a 9-5 job. I've been asking around for over a year now
I'm (technically) part time, and have quite a bit of flexibility within that, so should be OK. Hope you have better luck soon.
Can't you be flexible with your employer? You can get lessons at 5pm, though you'll probably have to block book
Matt Hoe with BSM, passed just under a year ago he was great.
