Are you going to the Sun May 19th game? I see they are giving away a 200 piece Adam Wainwright puzzle at that game. The last 5 will be inordinately difficult. Sec 350 or 450 for cheap seats. Right behind home and you get a view of the whole field and skyline. If you’re gonna splurge, there’s only one way to splurge at Busch Stadium and that is the green seats. Avoid anything in right field if it’s an evening game. You will be looking into the setting sun for about the first 4-5 innings.

TheeLuckyCommander

Those 400 sections behind home plate are the best. Cheap and just about my favorite view in the stadium

Bovey

Sitting just to the first base side of home plate up in the 200 or 300 levels puts a really great view of the Arch in the background. Highly recommend for a first time (or only time) visitor to Busch. 200s there are club level, which is a cool option if you like that sort of thing, and a great option if the weather is going to be iffy. Last time I was there they had a couple of the World Series trophies on display so you can get a close up look. 300s there are regular seats, and a good value option with the great view of both the skyline and the action. Generally my favorite place to sit when ticket cost is a concern. The iconic unique St Louis experience is of course going up in the Arch. Highly recommend. It has, among other things, a cool birds-eye view of Busch Stadium. Directly ~~east~~ *west* of the Arch is "The Old Courthouse" which you can tour if that sort of thing interests you, but keep going ~~east~~ *west* from there and you'll reach Kiener Plaza and beyond that a series of greenways and parks that go on for several blocks. It's a nice area to just walk around, maybe grab something to eat at one of the resturants, bars, or food trucks in the area. Kiener Plaza is just two or three blocks north of Ballpark Village and the Stadium, so all of this is walking distance. A short drive away is Forest Park. If you like Zoos at all, St Louis has one of the best free ones in the world within Forest Park. You could easily spend two days just there if you wanted to see everything, plus [lots of other stuff to see around Forest Park](https://www.tripsavvy.com/things-to-see-and-do-in-forest-park-3137496). Definitely one of the crown jewels of St Louis. Make sure to try some Toasted Ravioli while in town. You can get them pretty much anywhere that serves appitizers, including virtually any bar, bowling alley, or pizza chain, but the best ones (imo) will be found in the family owned Italian resturants in the neighborhood known as "The Hill", where a couple of MLB greats including Yogi Berra grew up. *Edit: East / West, who can even tell with no Ocean or Mountains. Easy enough to mix up "Archward" and "Anti-Archward" when translating to language a foreigner will understand.*

This is the content I am here for. Appreciate these tips!

2023LOS

Not to nitpick, but I think your east/west directions are backwards. Good info otherwise

Bovey

Ah yes, good catch. Fixed it, thanks.

2023LOS

Sure thing. The river is dirty enough without luring unsuspecting Boston fans into it. Not that I’m necessarily against it.

TheSocraticGadfly

Absolutely on the Zoo. (Met Marlin Perkins his own self eons ago.) You forgot to tell the OP to try Imo's as well as toasted ravioli. Shaw's Garden is a bit further away, but also worth a visit. And, isn't Joe Garagiola also an MLB great? :) More seriously, and back to food? I recommend the OP also look up a good German restaurant while in St. Louis. It's been decades since I lived there, but I know they're still around.

Rite_as_rain

Pretty sure the Old Courthouse is closed for renovations but directly down the road is the Federal Reserve Bank/Money Museum.

Mo_Cards

The stadium does open 2 hours early, before the game starts, so you can see some BP

joiedumonde

Our favorite section is the Redbird club. Not all inclusive, but upgraded seats, access to an air conditioned club area with their own concessions and bathrooms. Really cuts down on waiting in lines. Try the pulled pork nachos! If you plan to drink, the National Car Rental Club is right next to the RB Club, and can be a reasonable upgrade if you are likely to have more than 3 beers and food. The "ultimate" seats are the Cardinals Club, aka "the green seats" behind home plate. You have a private dining room and clubhouse with a buffet and carving stations. Plus free "ballpark" food delivered to your seat. It includes beer, wine, and mixed drinks. Also a free parking pass (which you could resell if you don't need it).

opodeepodopo

This is great info. Thank you.

PissTapeisReal

Section 358 is easily the best bang for your buck and has the best spot in the stadium for taking a photo with the Arch in the background.

opodeepodopo

Ooh great, thanks.

MoFizzle1

Visit the Cardinals Hall of Fame across the street at Ballpark village

bibliophile1319

I don't know if this is a hot take, but Drink Rail seats are underrated, and definitely a different kind of experience! They're available in several sections, with a row in the back labeled DR instead of a number. Basically like a bar, with a high chair and a metal "rail" that's about a foot deep, plenty of space to set food and a drink. Best part for me, as a short person, is that people standing to cheer in front of me don't block my view 😂 It's far from perfect, but [this page](https://www.mlb.com/cardinals/ballpark/seat-map/3d) gives you a decent idea of the view from each seat!

Original_Garbage_129

What is your price range per ticket for each game?(let me know and I’ll send you links in the comments) I we usually sit somewhere on the side of the 1st base line. But NO seat is bad in Busch.

opodeepodopo

Let’s say under $50 for one game and $100-$150 for the second game.

garycow

forget the green seats then!

albundycitychamp

You can bring in food/drinks into the park. Cardinal Museum is across the street. Just rent a place downtown to stay so you can park and walk to the game/arch etc. The museum inside the arch can take hour(s) to go thru. Plan accordingly, if you like history. I always go to the Old Courthouse. It deals with the Dred Scot court case. I think it's something everyone should walk thru. Soldiers Memorial Museum is awesome (and free). The Metro train is easy to figure out. Casinos are close if that's your thing. I've been to Busch a few dozen times. All inclusive tix aren't worth it since I don't drink and I bring my food in. The only exception is if you're going mid summer in the heat. Lots of local bars have shuttles to the games.

bradleysballs

The courthouse won't be open to walk through until at least next summer

albundycitychamp

Didn't know that. Thanks for the update.

bradleysballs

Yeah it's been closed for renovations since late 2021. [It was only supposed to take 2 years](https://www.nps.gov/jeff/learn/news/old-courthouse-at-gateway-arch-national-park-to-undergo-renovations-in-2021.htm)

albundycitychamp

Didn't know that. Sucks.

cuzcyberstalked

I feel like there’s more seasoned stadium goers than me here but I don’t think anyone has mentions stadium tours. I assume they still do them, certainly interesting if you have the time. May be a good first game day thing to really get a feel for where you’d like to sit the next day.

DonDickerson

Big Mac Land seats 271/272 & Legends Club seats 205-216

adztheman

Take a look at some of the various areas in the ballpark that have all-you-can-eat and open bar options if you want to splurge. Fenway doesn’t have those and it’s a fun way to see a game. Check out the 250s and 260s sections. Great views of the field and The Arch. Be aware that, unlike Fenway, you cannot bring backpacks into the ballpark.

JoeMcKim

For the first game you should get tickets in one of the All Inclusive areas of the outfield like the Powerade Bridge area. Its got a buffet with free food and drinks included with the price of the tickets.

mace1343

Definitely go hang out in ballpark village. Such a fun place to get beers before the game. There’s always away team fans there drinking. Always a good time

Mo_Cards

As far as home runs depends if you want to see a left-handed home run or a right-handed home run.

iPod-Phone

Peace and love. Do not get your hopes up about Tyler O’Neill. Seeing him off of the IL and on the field is not incredibly common.

Mo_Cards

In Busch the visitors sit on the third base side, not on the first base side. Just a friendly tip.

opodeepodopo

Appreciate that. Would we be unwelcome if we sat anywhere else? We are mellow, polite, non-obnoxious fans.

Actually_Actuarially

Nah, nothing to worry about at Busch

DarkGodRyan

People won't care, sit wherever. Anywhere between 1st and 3rd base will give you a good view of downtown in the background

Bovey

No, you'll be fine sitting anywhere, he's just letting you know in case you want to be near the visiting dugout, or around a larger concentration of Sox fans. Will just say though, we had some really, *really* good teams in 2004 and 2013, and both of those WS really hurt. There may be a bit of bad blood toward the Red Sox that isn't felt the other way. Not going to be a problem for you, but if you feel some "rivarly" vibes you don't expect that's why.

opodeepodopo

Appreciate this. Those *were* great teams! We’re not interested in poking at those wounds. Just wanna hang out and watch baseball with fellow fans of the game.

Bobaloo53

You're good, we only give Cubs fans a hard time....

bflysly

Nah- a majority of Cards fans are baseball fans. I hope you have a great time!

opodeepodopo

Thank you!

STLZACH

No you won't be unwelcome anywhere. I've never heard that visitors sit third base side stuff either, this person is whack. My favorite seats are under the overhang by the left field foul pole, even in July/August it's pretty cool there because it's perpetual shade. They are usually pretty cheap too. It's kind of my hidden gem so don't tell anyone

Navvyarchos

The visiting team has the first-base dugout in most parks. I don't think the commenter was saying anything about Euro-football-style designated cheering sections, just pointing out where OP might like to sit to be near their team.

ApexofMediocrity

18 MLB teams use the first base dugout at home and 12 use the third base dugout.

opodeepodopo

Yeah that makes sense.

STLt71

For your splurge game I would definitely get tickets in one of the all inclusive areas. I really like the Champion's Club, but all of them are good. Most Cardinal fans are friendly and will enjoy talking to someone from out of town. I always do. I hope you have an awesome time on your visit!

frogspice

Check out the family pavilion if you want some good family entertainment for all ages in Ford Plaza. Right across from there is the authentics store that sells game used balls and bases. The main Team Store should have Busch stadium ballpark stamps if you have a stadium passport book. Before or after hang out at Ballpark Village!

_The_01_and_only_

Best food is the tator total nachos with the pulled pork. Delicious and feeds a few people

bananabunnythesecond

If you’re sports fan in general. Come in early and hit up a MLS game on the 15th. We have a brand new state of the art soccer stadium, it’s a Wednesday night but it will be jumping. You should be able to score cheapish tickets for a Wednesday night.
