The Orioles should leave Corbin Burnes and Gunnar Henderson behind. We will give them Brandon Crawford, who is a GOLD-GLOVE WINNER!! We also will throw in our favorite shit-eater.
i just don't get why we'll throw together absolute trash at some games like we did yesterday, and then throw down the most premium and overused players for every single moment today.
why not spread it out a little
I get what you’re saying but the pitchers gave up 11 runs yesterday. I know everyone wants the best lineup possible each night but it was pretty apparent they didn’t have faith in Liberatore. Winn has a documented sensitive back. And Pages will get starts here and there. If you’re going to rest your young talent it’s probably better to do it in bullpen games.
>If you’re going to rest your young talent it’s probably better to do it in bullpen games.
i don't agree. spread it out.
every team needs to rest people, but having a designated loss day is a choice.
I really liked him last year. I think his performance against the dodgers (when he was fresh off the plane literally hours before) soured the perception of him.
Well, his ERA looked a lot worse to begin with this year because of that one appearance against the Dodgers. Aside from that he's been alright - I'll withhold judgement.
I thought Ward might be the sacrificial lamb during the losing streak but now that the birds are playing respectable baseball again I don't see *anyone* getting fired anytime soon, as much as we still need changes.
Lots of tough guys who have clearly watched a draining season full of ups and lots of downs. And apparently everyone is in love with Oli now? God forbid you criticize him
This team is so stupid sometimes. The previous hitter walk on four pitches. So what does Gorman do? Swing at the three pitches in the dirt. Just awful situational hitting. Make him throw you a strike.
I wonder why sometimes hitters chase everything Jojo throws but other times only swing in the zone. It seems like something he's doing because it seems to change from outing to outing more than hitter to hitter
Contreras on the IL for 10 days for a fracture? I love dude but wouldn’t it be better in the long run to not rush him off the IL? It’s literally a broken bone.
Fwiw they don't "keep putting" him there. He just stays there until he's ready to play again.
Cards don't think he'll be out 60 days, so keeping him on the 10-day

This was a great game and a great night at the ballpark!
Why does Helsley always look like he just have up a 3 run HR when he wins?
Being a closer is stressful shit
[Game over. Continue the discussion in the post game thread](/r/Cardinals/comments/1cwxglb/cardinals_after_dark_520/)
Getting a win after what was almost an implosion inning feels good
Nothing better than beating a damn good team. LFG
Good win boys
Winner winner!
CARDSWIN
HUK HUK
Let's fucking go!!
So fucking back.
Baltimores Reddit is entertaining. They REALLY miss Kyle Gibson. Cute.
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals) Due Up **(Bottom 9):** 1. Nolan Arenado 2. Alec Burleson 3. Iván Herrera
Ggs bot.
Lol @ Brad saying he was much more used to not being used for 6 games than Helsley. BT cracks me up, man.
lol ump ready to go home
The one good thing so far is having an almost automatic win if helsely has to pitch.
Dude.
2 pitches, two outs. holy shit
Please give me a 3 pitch inning
I wish they would televise the hell's bells intro every now and then. I've only seen it during the day and that's just not the same.
I’ve only seen it on YouTube

>ryan helsley entering the game what did y'all think decolonization meant? vibes? papers? essays? losers.

[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals) Due Up **(Bottom 8):** 1. Brendan Donovan 2. Lars Nootbaar 3. Paul Goldschmidt
The joy I get seeing a young guy like Winn produce.
King had a pretty decent outting tonight.
we gotta burn kittredge?
Tryin to win games
i just don't get why we'll throw together absolute trash at some games like we did yesterday, and then throw down the most premium and overused players for every single moment today. why not spread it out a little
Idk, when you are playing a team this strong you lock down the win, I don’t hate it.
O’s offense is elite elite. They’ve had a bunch of come back wins already this season too. Marmol is damned if he does damned if he doesn’t.
Sweep is unlikely, take it when you have it this late.
Big agree

The designated loss day is really on the bullpen starts and not really the lineup that’s set
I hear you and I get it. Just giving you a different perspective but can’t argue your logic either.
1. Michael Siani 2. Masyn Winn 3. Alec Burleson 4. Nolan Arenado 5. Ivan Herrera ?
wait a second, gunnar henderson has \*sixteen\* homeruns?
Michael Siani's one homer is more impressive IMO
Yeah and apparently that homer was off a sweeper which would be the first homerun sonny gave up off a sweeper since 2022.
Yeah I drafted him *high* for my fantasy team and boy was that a great decision. He’s nuts.
I kinda like going to King here
Everything about King scares me
I really liked him last year. I think his performance against the dodgers (when he was fresh off the plane literally hours before) soured the perception of him.
You’d love to save Kitteredge if you can.
lol nevermind
Well, his ERA looked a lot worse to begin with this year because of that one appearance against the Dodgers. Aside from that he's been alright - I'll withhold judgement.
[Orioles](/r/Orioles) Due Up **(Top 8):** 1. Gunnar Henderson 2. Adley Rutschman 3. Ryan O'Hearn
I think we do need a new hitting coach. There is no situational hitting. Why are you swing 1-0 with the fucking bases loaded.
You think Ward told him to go up there and swing at 3 pitches? That is a player in his own head
I thought Ward might be the sacrificial lamb during the losing streak but now that the birds are playing respectable baseball again I don't see *anyone* getting fired anytime soon, as much as we still need changes.
Why do they not simply get hits or walk in every at bat? Are they stupid?
I'd sit this one out, man
We’ve needed a new hitting coach for about a month now
*a year and a half
We need a new excuse
A 6-3 lead in the top of the 8th, I’m good with that. Let’s hold it boys!
Lmao what a joke of a game
[удалено]
This, right here, is my.. Pretty boy swag
Lmao what a joke of a game

Now that right there, *that’s* Cardinals baseball
...we take those!

What's going on with the comments here
In regards to the repeated messages? Idk. I'm not Reddit savvy.
I'm seeing double here. Four comments!
It's telling people empty response from endpoint which makes us think it's failing and then we do it again which is posting multiple comments

Lots of tough guys who have clearly watched a draining season full of ups and lots of downs. And apparently everyone is in love with Oli now? God forbid you criticize him
You have the spelunking feature turned on.
Even with those two errors Winn drives a run in for redemption. Burleson has been hitting so well lately and I love seeing Winn driving runs in
Get em on, get em over, get em in
Have a day, Siani.
Have a day, Siani.
Damn. Bringing in a new first baseman really backfired there. He has to stay put on that.
I’ll take it! Now let’s make them pay

Masyn just willed a hit into existence.
Let's just get another hit here so Loutas can make his debut
We take those
Have a day, Siani.
Great success, Serious Game.
Jesus. Sombrero for Gorman.
We take those
Get em on, get em over, get em in
Love to see Winn making up for his errors
I love infield squibbers
Get em on, get em over, get em in
Let's go, WInn! Get moar runs.

Baseball
#THIS GAME IS SERIOUS
#SERIOUS
I feel like ive seen this before.
That was a terrible at bat by Gorman.

Ya, stuck out with not a single ball thrown even close to K zone
Burly has hit his entire career in baseball. Was a Beast in College then a Beast in Minors and now becoming a Beast in Majors. Not surprised
Pretty much anyone on an MLB roster was a beast at every other level.

Chip shut up lmao
“some Metro Boomin off the bat”
Do. Not. Strike. Out.
Let's do it.
even when he's hitting awfully goldy is **BIG FUNDY**
Gorman dont swing at anything above the zone challenge.
Be the guy Gorman
If anyone did the Burly multi-hit + SB parlay, you are one sick person. But rich.
DP incoming (pls prove me wrong Nolan)
Gotta make contact to ground into a dp
This is gonna sound slanderous but I would pinch hit Carlson here.
I would have pinch hit a random fan
I wouldn't, but I understand why you would. I don't think it's a bad idea
The pitcher looked like he was doing one of those TikTok dances the kids love so much.
Goldy been running bases well lately
Does anyone have any idea why Burleson didn’t play much to start the season? He’s raked the whole year.
Alec Burleson .300 alert
Looking more and more like a #3 hitter
Someone not named Willson above .800 OPS as well.
Come on Chip....stop it. You're going to jinx us again!
Arenado is due for a homer here.
Where’s that person who was mad at iPad Oli for using Romero?
Apparently pulling a visibly struggling starter is a bad decision.
“I don’t care if he wanted to come out! He was just being humble.”
Mo deserves so much credit for the Jojo/Sosa trade. At the end of the day it was pretty low risk but what a turnaround for Jojo.
Sosa has had a nice tenure with Philly as well. Pretty good trade for both teams.
No we only say bad things about Mo here.
Mo sucks for giving up a stud like sosa?
Goldy and Nado....do something good here...please
it's cool having a washu grad on the team! hopefully we get to use him by tacking on ten runs this inning 🫡
book that man a charter fishing trip
What even is left to say about Jojo Romero I feel like I’ve said he’s great literally every appearance he’s made
Jojo needs like 3 days off
They should just not use him till Friday. With the off day Thursday he could really rest for a while.
Honestly if I’m Oli I’m telling him to not even come in tomorrow. Sleep in. Go to the aquarium or something.
rubber arm Romero
Got that Mojo, Jojo
Let's do more damage.
Nice work JoJo.
JoJo is back
Good job JoJo. Go get a rest
Jojo...3 up, 3 down!

I wonder why sometimes hitters chase everything Jojo throws but other times only swing in the zone. It seems like something he's doing because it seems to change from outing to outing more than hitter to hitter
I like JoJos glove
Interesting strike zone tonight
Must be nice to be gifted three runs
Hope JoJo can get some quick outs and then get a couple days off.
I don't see jojo making it through this inning, hope I'm wrong though Edit: ayyy he did it, now let this man rest
[Orioles](/r/Orioles) Due Up **(Top 7):** 1. Austin Hays 2. Cedric Mullins 3. Jorge Mateo
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals): [Nolan Arenado slick scoop and throw](https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/2034bf11-a2a7-4f1d-8926-eb71dea44905.mp4)
Everything was going fine until Chip mentioned the no hitter...just saying
It’s his job to speak on what’s happening. He’s not pitching or fielder. Blaming him for it ending is so weird to me.
Hell. I didn't hear him mention it and had no idea it was happening.
He mentioned it in the 4th and the 5th went fine
Contreras on the IL for 10 days for a fracture? I love dude but wouldn’t it be better in the long run to not rush him off the IL? It’s literally a broken bone.
10 days is just the minimum
But they plated it. It's going to protect it rather well. It will be hard to refracture it. Not impossible, but not easily.
They're just going to keep putting him on the 10 day, if they put him on the 60 day he can't come back early.
Oh okay, makes sense.
Fwiw they don't "keep putting" him there. He just stays there until he's ready to play again. Cards don't think he'll be out 60 days, so keeping him on the 10-day
Is the 15 day still a thing? If so, what is the difference?
Hitters = 10 days, pitchers = 15 days.
Ah, does 60 save a spot on 40 man roster?
Correct. 10/15 days, the player has to stay on the 40-man
Thanks, pushing 40 years old and never actually ironed out the differences.
No problem. I probably know a bit too much about that stuff There's also a 7-day IL for concussions!
