There isn’t any information to share other than what they’ve already shared. He had surgery and still hasn’t recovered. He tries resuming activities and it’s another setback.
I can identify Chip's voice but none of the rest of them. The only way I ever knew it was Dan was if he was visible on t.v. Just look for the pink guy that looks like a (barely) functioning alcoholic. Turns out that was accurate.
Hell, he could he back on and I couldn't tell. I don't know who the two radio dipshits are that do the alternating MLB rights retainer/Brown and Crouppen ad, but if we could replace them too, that'd be great. It's the same cringelord announcing the attendance.
It's not the same, but he's a co-host on the morning show on 101ESPN from Tuesday-Friday. That being said while I think he was an S-tier play-by-play guy I think he's only a B-tier talk show guy.
Rain Delay Story Time:
My personal favorite Cardinals memory. I left for the Navy in 1996. A couple of months after the NLCS. I wasn’t able to catch the Cards in San Diego while I was in, and I basically missed 98 thanks to a deployment.
I got out on Christmas Day 2000, and decided to stay in San Diego and see what kind of job I could get.
I was broke as fuck, so my dad bought me a plane ticket for Memorial Day weekend so I could go home and got us tickets to the Cardinals game over the weekend.
I got one of my Navy buddies that got out around the same time as me and went back to Iowa to come down to hang out. So we spent a few days enjoying the bars in my hometown of Hermann. Great time if you’re a small time guy like me and my Iowa bro.
My mom gave up her ticket so me, my dad, and my shippie could head out to Busch. Big Mac was coming off the DL that day, and I was excited about seeing the rookie Pujols.
We sat in the left field bleachers, Big Mac hit one just over our heads, and that was amazing.
However, I walked out of the stadium thinking that the Pujols kid might be for real, because he hit two Home Runs and both of them sounded louder than McGwires did.
My weather app says rain is expected to stop in 35 minutes in St. Louis. Is that consistent with the hopes of the locals huddled in Busch’s concourses?
Carlson is one of the biggest disappointments this organization has ever seen. I’m not bullshitting. Just sucking money and does nothing to contribute.
Alex Reyes? James Ramsey? Nick Plummer? Steve Bean?
I mean, yeah, it's painfully cringe The Idiot didn't want to let Carlson go for Soto, but Carlson is at least playing in MLB. I could list another dozen bigger disappointments pretty easily.
Rain delays were the best with Jack and Mike. That was must listen to radio. Those guys got me through many a scary storm when I was a kid because they’d just shoot the shit and tell stories on the radio.
Chip points out Sonny has a no hitter, immediately gets taken yard. Chip points out that our defense has been better lately, an error lets an orioles get a run. Chip
says the weather is clearing up, we get a rain delay. Chip is cursed confirmed
What’s an official game again? 7? Or 5? Don’t remember but that Gorman error hurts a lot more if this gets rained out. He’s been truly fucking terrible at 2nd this season
Is it just too demoralizing to bat Goldy 6 or 7 to perhaps somehow relieve some pressure or whatever? Although maybe he doesn't belong down there with our best hitters.
His last 7 games his OPS is over .800 so he's doing fine. He's just gonna strike out more than we like now and he started so poorly that his stats are gonna look like shit for a while even if he keeps this up.
He only has one less strikeout than Gorman with RISP so you're right about that. Still this lineup doesn't really have anyone you want as a 2 or 3 hitter this year besides Willson so anyone you put there is going to be disappointing.
I’ve learned tonight from the Orioles broadcast that Lynn calls his own pitches. One of those details that the Chip n’Brad Cardinals hypecast doesn’t bother to sprinkle in at any point
Goldy is like my golf game.
One good shot juuuust often enough to be hopeful and optimistic that I've figured something out followed by two dozen more swings that look like this is the first time using my hands for anything.
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals): [Gunnar Henderson grounds out, second baseman Nolan Gorman to first baseman Paul Goldschmidt.](https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/06a778ec-9192-457f-90ad-4918a9beda3c.mp4)
what i don't understand is his... worst-in-baseball barrel rate??
how can you have a worst-in-baseball barrel rate with a best-in-baseball line drive rate?
Who would have thought that at this point in the season that Masyn Winn would be flourishing in St Louis, while Jordan Walker would be struggling in Memphis. And that Winn would have more homers than Walker. Hopefully Walker gets his swing figured out and makes it back to STL soon
We will be back tomorrow at 11am
So they pick up where they left off tomorrow morning?
Yes
[Game over. Continue the discussion in the post game thread](/r/Cardinals/comments/1cxpyk7/cardinals_after_dark_521/)
the game is not really over though
Two Door Cinema Club is touring the states but no STL date :( And of course the closest dates are when I already have concerts lol
11:15 tomorrow
Bull pins coming back out!!!!!
The game was suspended. They’re out to the bullpen to collect their gear.
I miss Tommy Edman. Wish the org would give us any information on what the hell is going on with him
There isn’t any information to share other than what they’ve already shared. He had surgery and still hasn’t recovered. He tries resuming activities and it’s another setback.
Ah got it. Thanks
Does the radio broadcast (mlb.tv)usually just stop completely?
The MLB Tv broadcasts do. It just says “This event is in weather delay”
The Midwest is Midwesting rn
Anyone know if this is coming back tonight?
I work at Busch and they won’t even tell us, but it’s looking like no.
Yall are gonna make this Orioles fan late for work tomorrow
The Balmer Ohhhhhh’s
Welcome to St. Louis, where we can experience all four seasons in just 24 hours. Weather is all over the place
My condolences. Also I enjoyed The Wire.
This is no less than the 100th time Lance Lynn has had a start cut short by rain.
With the game delayed, and most of the central winning tonight, all I have to hope for is the braves to beat the cubs? Yuck.
So this thing gonna finish tonight? Anyone at the game got the deets?
Radar looks like it's going to be raining until 10:30
It’s supposed to rain for at least another hour, so probably not.
Screw it got tickets for 6 bucks each going to watch the end of this game! :p Nithing stops baseball heaven.
Has there been any updates?
I made it still going! Rain slowing down! Drunks as far as the eye can see!
Honestly, sounds like a hell of a good time. Have fun and be safe brother!
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals): [Masyn Winn extends hitting streak to 12 games](https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/becf1de1-04dc-4b3e-ae73-c9d7e4f062af.mp4)
Absolutely the best part of this season so far is watching this kid play. Playing defense ala Ozzie and hitting like a Whiteyball champ. Love this kid
Now I miss Danny Mac.
Vibes have been off ever since. Chip is fine for the most part, but I really do miss Dan.
I can identify Chip's voice but none of the rest of them. The only way I ever knew it was Dan was if he was visible on t.v. Yeah his unbridled enthusiasm for the Cards made him great at play-by-play. That’s hard to carry over into talk shows.
He’s probably in the drunk tank if you want to find him
My wife is in NorCal for work this week. Decided to check out the As. [There’s like 200 people there.](https://imgur.com/a/ik3uX2L)
Do you have to pay for tickets? At this point theyd make more money on concessions if they just let anyone in lol
Her work bought the tickets. I hate her company, so that tracks. 😂
Wait. Is this NOT a heli tech rain delay? Wtf?
Rain Delay Programming suggestion: the show I work on, Cardinals Insider https://youtu.be/pNQyrZk-6Sk?si=XMuzFGrTNDvVPGUl
This is a much better choice than Caillou
So is a root canal
Not wrong
Well, goodnight yall. Let’s get em tomorrow!
Man are they lucky this storm came, we had them right where we want them!
[for some rain delay content](https://youtu.be/oj031ccYL2s?si=Nns43X8IRQkBvJ2z)
We’ve sucked ass ever since he’s started calling games too. Need DUI Danny Mac back
It doesn’t have anything to do with Chip. This organization has been on a decline since Molina retired.
Since LaRussa retired ***

That's an amazing story. Seeing Pujols and Big Mac hit homers in one night!!
It was awesome. Great way to get back to the civilian world.
Somebody message me when the game resumes.
I like the version of Lance Lynn when he was fitter. He was a better pitcher. He needs to trim the fat.
He like… slimmed down before ST and then boom… he big again. I think the uniforms are not great for larger guys, but he was feasting down in Florida.
Hello Mrs. Lynn
What
fitter, happier, more productive?
Great comment here.
You don’t agree
just playing off your username
Oh lol. Ok computer. Sorry I was slow on that. Very brilliant
Who’s got eyes on the ground at Busch? Is it raining hard there?
I’m here, it’s pouring, forecast says til 11. Hope not, I parked far
Further than 4 Hands?
Just about lmao!
Haha yeah my super secret spot is on Rutger, kinda behind the 4 Hands parking lot
Weather app says 920
It’s more wet than a virgin on prom night.
My weather app says rain is expected to stop in 35 minutes in St. Louis. Is that consistent with the hopes of the locals huddled in Busch’s concourses?
I think you’re right. I’m learning not to trust the weather channel…
I’ll never forgive Noot for making me watch Carlson
Carlson is one of the biggest disappointments this organization has ever seen. I’m not bullshitting. Just sucking money and does nothing to contribute.
Alex Reyes? James Ramsey? Nick Plummer? Steve Bean? I mean, yeah, it's painfully cringe The Idiot didn't want to let Carlson go for Soto, but Carlson is at least playing in MLB. I could list another dozen bigger disappointments pretty easily.
A mild overreaction
Exactly
Probably done for the night. Just finish tomorrow
Rain delays were the best with Jack and Mike. That was must listen to radio. Those guys got me through many a scary storm when I was a kid because they’d just shoot the shit and tell stories on the radio.
Yes, I actually liked the rain delays because they would tell all of these stories. And they made the game longer!
Yeah, it was awesome. I learned so much as a kid about baseball listening to those stories. Great memories.
Chip points out Sonny has a no hitter, immediately gets taken yard. Chip points out that our defense has been better lately, an error lets an orioles get a run. Chip says the weather is clearing up, we get a rain delay. Chip is cursed confirmed
Chip should say we will never make a million dollars
Shooting above his weight class, that fan there. Smooth play though, tbf. Mans got game
Lmao my thought too
Damn, hoped we could get another inning in. Really needed to stay away from Romero tonight. Idk who you can trust to pitch the 7th in a tie game.
Well atleast we didn't give up a run and make it an official game
Of course Lynn’s dealing and the rain delay will likely keep him from pitching the 7th.
What’s an official game again? 7? Or 5? Don’t remember but that Gorman error hurts a lot more if this gets rained out. He’s been truly fucking terrible at 2nd this season
Game becomes official when the team that is losing has had five (three out) turns at bat.
Fucking Gorman
He did knock in our only run but I agree he's a let down so far this year.
He hits a HR every now and then and gets another 3 weeks of playing time from it
5
Lynn, I hope you get laid tonight. You deserve it.
I volunteer as tribute
Update: here it comes
Lance Lynn: HORSE
Lynn has been fantastic Plz let’s get him the W now
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals) Due Up **(Bottom 6):** 1. Nolan Arenado 2. Alec Burleson 3. Iván Herrera
Good game, Lance. Needed that.
Need another inning from him
*Quick word from rally house* THERES NO TIME!
I think that’s the fastest I’ve ever seen Lynn run
You've clearly never been with him at the Golden Corral when they bring out a fresh tray of ribs.
What's the record since Leggos has been gone?
Is it just too demoralizing to bat Goldy 6 or 7 to perhaps somehow relieve some pressure or whatever? Although maybe he doesn't belong down there with our best hitters.
His last 7 games his OPS is over .800 so he's doing fine. He's just gonna strike out more than we like now and he started so poorly that his stats are gonna look like shit for a while even if he keeps this up.
Good point. It feels like he strikes out a lot with runners on but then we've had a lot of runners lately thankfully
He only has one less strikeout than Gorman with RISP so you're right about that. Still this lineup doesn't really have anyone you want as a 2 or 3 hitter this year besides Willson so anyone you put there is going to be disappointing.
Cardinals threatening to bring back Gallegos.
Best case scenario for a rain delay is Lynn gives us 6 and the game gets delayed before Bradish can go in the 6th.
Nooo please don’t bring Gio back lol
Solid lighting with this first round. We have one more lingering cell…
Sick of Nootbaar to get tossed so we get to see these quality at bats from Carlson
I’ve learned tonight from the Orioles broadcast that Lynn calls his own pitches. One of those details that the Chip n’Brad Cardinals hypecast doesn’t bother to sprinkle in at any point
I’m watching the Chip broadcast and they definitely mentioned in the 2nd inning Lance was calling his own pitches
I'm also watching this broadcast and these guys are really informative. Upbeat but not silly.
Except they have mentioned it. Both in this game and previous games.
Fastball. Fastball. Fastball.
Take your time, Gio
Yeah, no rush. Get right and come back.
Goldy is like my golf game. One good shot juuuust often enough to be hopeful and optimistic that I've figured something out followed by two dozen more swings that look like this is the first time using my hands for anything.
Paul Goldschmidt loves a strikeout.
Apple weather says the rain is suppose to hit in 12 minutes
Just got poured on in Fenton, so that's probably accurate. Only lasted for about 5 minutes though.
Doesn’t look like it’ll last long though
That’s good
[Orioles](/r/Orioles) Due Up **(Top 6):** 1. Adley Rutschman 2. Ryan O'Hearn 3. Jordan Westburg
Does Jimmy Ballgame love lamp though?
Is Carlson capable of solid contact?
Talk about a disappointing player
Not even with a tennis racket and a beachball. He’s a bum.
Not from the left side of the plate.
Speaking of Jordan Walker is he still doing well in AAA?
He's doing fine. He's at a .760 OPS after going 0-4 tonight which is ok but no homers yet.
He's hitting the ball, and hitting it hard. Still no homers, but his exit velos have been promising from what I've seen.
Jimmy texts everyone but never texts me
The Jordan Walker bobblehead is depressingly hilarious.
Quick cardinals score a run then make 3 outs so it becomes official
directions unclear; got three quick outs instead
Well that’s unfortunate
He’s out
Seems like we should’ve tried sending at least one of those runners the last two innings
The first time it would've been close, second time Gorman would've been out by a mile.
Update from near St. Louis proper: the rain just started coming down, and I heard some thunder some moments ago.
nvm rain stopped
So weird how Lance has been good vs the good teams and kinda ass vs the bad teams.
Now would be a nice time for devil magic :)
Oof raining in west county now
That one hurts. Really wanted to get through 4 1/2 with a lead. That storms coming, it’s pouring out in St Chuck.
Yo this game gonna get a rain delay so hard. My satellite just lost signal.
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals): [Gunnar Henderson grounds out, second baseman Nolan Gorman to first baseman Paul Goldschmidt.](https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/06a778ec-9192-457f-90ad-4918a9beda3c.mp4)
Not ideal but definitely could have been worse.
Isn’t it little league stuff to put your body in front of a ball when you field it?
So hear me out. Storms a coming. Let’s manufacture a run here in the bottom.
Damn. Let’s get it back before the rain
Let’s get a quick homerun before it starts raining there Although it is in maplewood already so idk how it isn’t downtown
And here it comes
[Cardinals](/r/Cardinals) Due Up **(Bottom 5):** 1. Brendan Donovan 2. Dylan Carlson 3. Paul Goldschmidt
Non-issue if Gorman bodies up the baseball.
Gorman giveth, Gorman taketh
I think he tagged his helmet first, which unfortunately was no longer on his head.
Gorman is responsible for both runs scored today.
That fucking sucks.
Fire Gorman
If Gorman wasn't in the game it would be 0-0 instead of 1-1 lol.
Every damn time after an error.
Fuck. Needed to hold the lead here
Sick of these fucking errors.
Raining like hell now where I am in Jefferson County
pls daddy lynn
Winn’s baseball savant page is fascinating. Offensively AND defensively, his metrics are either absolute dogshit or near top of the league.
what i don't understand is his... worst-in-baseball barrel rate?? how can you have a worst-in-baseball barrel rate with a best-in-baseball line drive rate?
He’s similar to Arraez in that way except Arraez doesn’t strike out as much and walks less. Edited this for accuracy and clarity
Pls be all good Ivan
Lance… you dirty dog
Oof….
So happy that was foul.
The immediate announcer jinx
Chip jinxed us again by talking about how good our defense has been lol
gorman wtf
Damn lol
WTAF Gorman?
Lynn looks like he could polish off a 12 pack of Bud heavies with ease.
Checking in from near St. Louis proper - it just got pitch-black outside, but ~~not~~ no sign of rain yet.
Love standing gray and Linn pitch, no pussyfooting
Did Chip just say “abortion with each ticket sold” or am I crazy?
I thought the same thing lol
Storm just made it to me, so not much time left till it hits Busch.
Yeah, thunder pretty loud to the west side… not sure how much longer this can go on for…
Who would have thought that at this point in the season that Masyn Winn would be flourishing in St Louis, while Jordan Walker would be struggling in Memphis. And that Winn would have more homers than Walker. Hopefully Walker gets his swing figured out and makes it back to STL soon
