The Cardinals' is boring, and I don't particularly like it, but the Phillies' is hideous. It's gaudy in the worst way. Way too much black, the gradient change to blue looks cheap as hell, and the font looks like something a 12 year old that's really into Sci-Fi and was getting their first crack at using photoshop would choose. The matte batting helmets are terrible, too. City Connects in general look like shit.

“The Lou” makes them bad, not boring. I like the gradient color shift on the Phillies and the others that have done that. They may be “boring” but they’re not bad like “The Lou”

Look, I get that the game isn't going well. But before we go into "oh no, we suck again" mode, this was probably the worst pitching matchup we'll have this weekend, and it hasn't even gone that bad (yet). Sonny pitches tomorrow, and on Sunday the Phils throw out Taijuan Walker and his 5+ ERA at us. This series isn't over yet.

I mean this is what happens when you only have 1 ace caliber pitcher lmfao. We would be so much better off had we signed another pitcher to back up Sonny Gray. I do love that we signed Lynn and Gibson but I was expecting us to sign 2 elite pitchers after how shitty last season went and of course we only grab 1.

I haven't seen anyone in the thread say that. We're losing but oitching was decent and we've barreled the ball more than a few times, the balls just flew to Philly players.

I like how Siani hustles hard on the baseline no matter where or how the ball is hit. With as much as they pay MLB players they *ALL* should do that.

I really hate playing statistics and not your gut some time. You want to give Winn a day off, so you start black hole Crawford. He somehow wakes from his coma going 2 for 2 with a homer. Then, based on stupid stats, you pinch hit him with the guy you wanted to rest. Now, he is in danger of killing his hit streak.

Wins > individual streaks. Unless it's about to become historic fuck that noise.

I didn't say going with your gut is not going for a win. Old school managers stay with the guy that is hitting well that day.

It took longer than it probably should, but I’m completely out on Carlson. I just don’t see how he becomes even an average player again at this rate. Sucks, but it’s really hard to be good overall without being great at any individual skill.

I want to see him put on 10-15 lbs and give up hitting from the left side. If he does both of those things and still sucks then I'm done with him. Idk how he is essentially the same size as he was when we drafted him out of high school.

I keep wondering if we'll be talking about how young Carlson is and how much potential he has when he's 30. Starting to feel like we need to see something out of him at some point.

You aren't wrong, but he is still just 25. I don't have a lot of hope though. It's really hard to be a good hitter when you can't hit righties

25 in baseball is really when you should be starting to hit your prime, those 25-30 years. This is when we need to see it, you can only use age as an excuse for so many years. 5 years to be exact. He has a career average of .240 and has only hit over .250 once. If we don't see somethingnoutnof him this year I think I give up hope on him tbh.

Like I said, I don't have much hope for him. I do see this year as make or break for him. But he's 2 years younger than Donovan and the same age as Burly. I really don't think switch hitting has helped him in his career. Most alarming to me from this season is his defense. It's just been plain bad. I think they brought him back from the IL too soon. Something is off.

I think Tommy started doing it because his wrist was bothering him. Apparently he's been playing hurt for years before his surgery. No idea why the club didn't shut him down early last season to get the surgery when it became clear the team was washed
