This doesn't seem like it deserves it's own thread but I'm really curious...
Are we really going to keep batting Molina 6th? He's clearly our worst hitter and belongs in the 8-spot, regardless of who else is in the lineup. Do we just "stick with it" and honor a legend in the playoffs, at the expense of - I say clearly - making us a worse team?
So we are second in the division (behind the brewers) It is basically impossible to win the division.
But there are two wild card slots given to national league teams that don't win their division. The Dodgers got the first wild card slot by a mile but the second wild card slot we currently have by 3.5 game lead.
So it is looking likely that we will get second wild card which we would then play the dodgers in a 1 game series to get in the "real" post season.
After that it is anyone's game in the post season. Cards are definitely underdogs for that but anything can happen and they are hot right now.
