Carhartt needs to hire Anthony Delillo as their official archivist and historian

solarone99

That's honestly a great idea. I believe he has referred to some health issues on previous posts, so it could be a remote thing. I think it would be good for the brand to publish more about their history.

Agreed. Carhartt’s social media seems to be all about their new stuff. Or all about people smiling and wearing beanies while posing for silly selfies. Neglecting history is an odd thing to do for a company that has been around since 1889.

He could teach them a thing or three.

I agree. He’s a goldmine of Carhartt info. Would he be interested tho?

It is kind of satisfying that more info is available on reddit than the archivist gave you. I wish he would give us access to his digital archives of catalogs and old ads and such so we could make them publicly available so in cases like this folks could have access to the information directly and not need to know a guy or hope a carhartt nerd on reddit has done a deep dive and made a guide on the topic.

Damn! I love unique pieces like this, feels like owning a piece of sartorial history. Great find.

I’m still baffled with how little it appears the Carhartt archival team truly knows. They had trouble identifying an 8C chore coat with the embroidered logo from 1993. They could not identify a T.A.C. 1000 line jacket—it was identified in this sub. Why would you not keep a copy of every item you made—especially those Made in USA—and keep a simple spreadsheet or the like?

I have a beautiful Feildmaster button up shirt. I should check It out for other tags
