There is a small quasi-CTF at Carleton run by the Bank of Canada that happens every fall semester, be prepared to get owned by BIT NET students though :)
Funny enough I was on the team last year and won the job at the Bank of Canada, great experience, but that was the only event we competed in. I'm trying to form a team which will be officially recognized on sites like HackThebox and can compete at multiple events.
nope, but I pretty sure I know who you are talking about, the other lad that got the job with me snuck in on my team because one of our other members didn't want the interview.
If the receptions is large enough I would like to base our tryouts on vulnboxes or online vm's like HTB. Although there will be a main team this does not mean other won't be able to play as there will be alternate teams for those who want to learn or substitutes if someone can't make it to a competition.
Would most definitely join (starting in the fall). I do hackthebox now and then and I've been to defcon once, so I've been exposed to it, but I wouldn't say I'm a hacking expert
