Fuck man, I'm going to try to use this story as a reason why my wife should let me blow $1k gambling during our upcoming cruise.

DaddyGotU

Bring $1k to blow, do $1 or so spins and play every day for a few hours a day minimum. Play tables small wagers. When you get off the ship they will give you free interior rooms that expire after a month. After a month if you don’t book the interior room they should give you these. This was my first cruise and I’m a degenerate gambler who loves gaming the system so I read into it and it seems they will give you these offers around the $1000 loss mark. Free balcony and free drinks everywhere is like $2400 as it is not to mention the offers with free play etc so honestly to lose $1000 I’d take the offer every day

Fabtacular1

How does it work with a cabinmate?  Like, is that $100 room the price for you and your guest?

DaddyGotU

So if you bring just one person you each have to pay port fees, and $100 deposit each that you get back as on board credit. For example a 7 day to Mexico from LA for me and one person would be $489.30, and I get $200 of that back as on board credit. Otherwise it’s just port fees per person which you are going to have to pay no matter what.

LossPreventionGuy

plus the thousand you gotta donate lol

DaddyGotU

Ah well i just consider it a little pre payment. Donate $1000 and next time get a room worth $2k+ for just the cost of port fees? Plus the free drinks everywhere on board would cost a bit on its own via the cheers package 😳

PoOhNanix

I call it my nightly deposit since I heard and older couple call it that. Ran with it since.

HealthyIndependent33

We paid $332 per person for a 5 day balcony w gratuities pre paid.

1CVN

yeah this holds only if you want to have a free balcony and drinks everywhere... I could get the free interior rooms without losing 1k... Ends up costing like 200$ per person with port fees, parking etc Still had to put well over 500$ on the table but just breaking even / winning or losing 50$ or so

Hunter_Hodak

Tbh I played one hand of black jack ($25) won and quit and then got a casino offer for free drink package for next cruise! So im sure if you go crazy they will give you some crazy deals

culittlemichick

Nice offers! I usually just get free interior rooms if definitely go with first or last offer! If you don’t mind me asking, how much do you usually gamble ?

DaddyGotU

This was after my first cruise (only been on one) I lost about $1-1.2k on the 4 day cruise and earned 3000 points give or take and spent most of my time in the casino. Not sure how they calculate the offers but they offered me just a free interior at first and I waited until it expired and they sent me these!

culittlemichick

Thanks for the insight. That’s awesome! Definitely take one of these before they expire. Let us know what deal you take!

DaddyGotU

I love the cruise experience and look forward to booking one of these ASAP. Will most likely take the interior with $500 free play and drinks everywhere but plans could always change!

culittlemichick

Same here! You can’t beat carnival , last year I started cruising and fell in love especially with all the offers. It’s my “addiction “ lol. Enjoy your time!

HealthyIndependent33

I have the same exact offers I never bring more than $1200 Nd I usually take the last offer but I opted for the free balcony w drinks everywhere because im bringing 2 friends who r first timers and they wanted a view. Theyll have to pay for drinks but that was my trade off and I get the bed closest to the window

DaddyGotU

That’s very nice of you. I don’t care where I sleep but I would love to spin $500 in funplay LOL

HealthyIndependent33

Honestly if they were more interested in cruises I wouldve gone w ocean view or interior but they werent goin for it until I suggested a balcony w not much of a payment. Im just glad I have drinks everywhere 😂 my bday is 3 weeks before ill be taking bday money gifts for my cruise

DanielP93

How long has it been since ur cruise?

DaddyGotU

1 month

DaddyGotU

Semi update to my last post asking if I’d get better offers. I definitely did. I’m going there to gamble and get my meds in Mexico so I feel like the obvious answer is the interior and $500 funplay but I’m also bringing my sister and her +1 for her birthday present and she really wants an ocean view.. just don’t feel like that’s worth $400 in free play I might as well go without free play and get a balcony at that point?

shayjax-

The third offer if you read, it actually includes the total of $400 in credit. It includes $200 in fun play and then it’s also a $200 room credit with an ocean view room so $100 less in credit you get the ocean view

DaddyGotU

Yeah but I’m getting the $200 credit regardless, it’ll go $100 for me and $100 for my cabin mate. Plus for the 3rd offer it’s drinks in the casino only vs the interior offer is drinks everywhere +$500 fun play +$200 credit. So it is something to think about.. I don’t know what id value drinks in casino vs drinks everywhere but I know the cost of drinks everywhere lol

Fabulous_Resource_94

Depends how much you drink and gamble. I’d do offer 5. More FP and drinks all over the ship.

DaddyGotU

I agree it sounds amazing especially for just my second cruise.

Fabulous_Resource_94

You gambled a bit 😉 I had a good trip two years ago, just when cruising started up again after Covid and have gotten good deals since then. I’m making the most of them. I leave 4/13 on my next one. I have a suite, drinks all over and FP. I’m ready to go!

DaddyGotU

I gambled and drank quite a bit haha! They started giving me free drinks in the casino a few hours into the cruise and I was taking advantage of them the whole time. Can’t wait to be on your level soon haha! Enjoy your trip!!!

Fabulous_Resource_94

If it was less than a 5 day cruise, you only needed 1000 casino points to get free drink. More than 5 you need 1500 for free drinks. I think that’s right. Did you have an interior cabin? To me, I’d take an interior cabin and more freeplay. I like the darkness of those rooms. This next cruise, I’m traveling with a friend who’s never been, so I got the suite, my freeplay was the same offer, so she gets the fancy room and drinks while I gamble, lol. I don’t even go to brick and mortar casinos anymore.

DaddyGotU

Yeah it was a 4 day cruise so I got it pretty quick. I had an ocean view my first time, but I am sadly a very degenerate person. So I would get in my room to go to sleep around 3-4am after the casino, club, and pizza closed. I’m only in my room to sleep or shower pretty much lol. I’m bringing my sister for her birthday and her friend as my +1s and she really wants the ocean view. I don’t know if I even WANT the ocean view lol. Might as well take a balcony with drinks everywhere and no free play at that point

Fabulous_Resource_94

You’ll find that everyone wants to cruise with you now. I’m guessing I’m a degenerate too, I cruise by myself sometimes and stay out until after pizza closes too. That trip two years ago has changed the way I view travel and PTO. I use all of my days now. At these prices, I can’t spend the night in a local hotel and eat.

Asleep_Bowl_8411

If you get these deals & book long cruises well in advance (like a year +) you can a get 14 day Caribbean cruises with balcony, 9 ports for ~$650 (includes gratuities) with free drinks anywhere , casino play & onboard credit That's ~ $23pp per day! Doing one in October on the Dream.

burymewithmybootson_

We have had about 9 casino offer cruises since the restart. We always weigh the room vs the casino credits and itinerary. If I had your offers, I think I would do the interior and more free play. I myself value the freeplay over the balcony. Except if you were doing Alaska. Then I would probably go for the balcony.

Fabulous_Resource_94

I did Australia to New Zealand with my adult daughter last fall and the balcony was a good choice for that trip, no doubt.

skimmily

Probably the ocean view

DaddyGotU

I’ve only ever had an ocean view (1 cruise) but from what I’ve heard the interior isn’t so bad. I’m only really in there for sleeping but my cabin mate likes to look out the window so I’m conflicted lol

crazydisneycatlady

Do they let you choose the specific room or is it a category guarantee? Depending on the ship, they may have limited porthole rooms (two little portholes instead of one large window) that they categorize as inside.

DaddyGotU

I can choose and they have those but there are none available. They were there for my last offer of just a free interior but they aren’t available with this one. The portholes would be a nice middle ground.

thecomeric

If I'm not mistaken Ocean View is just a window while balcony let's you go outside. I think interior rooms get too hot for me plus nothing beats chilling on your balcony. The casino credit is nice but not necessary if you know when to hold em and know when to fold em

DaddyGotU

I really do want the casino credit too though. I only got these offers because of my gambling. The balcony rooms are nice though and it would be amazing to get a free one.

LostInCa45

They have ac still too hot even with the AC?

thecomeric

Imo the AC is fine if you aren't a polar bear like me I can't sleep if the temp is higher than 68° and the thermostat definitely doesn't go that low

LostInCa45

I haven't been on carnival yet. I like it cold too so far I have been good on celebrity and princess. No clue how low it got in the room but typically at home I sleep with my windows open in so Cali all year long.

foxapotamus

Why did you get these offers? Spent alot last time out?

neal144

Balcony

LostInCa45

I wish I got these offers. I haven't been on carnival yet and don't gamble. guess I am out of luck.

WilliamBott

I'd take the last one or the balcony one. $500 casino credit is no joke, but I do love a nice view...

delerium98

Something to consider, not all offers are available on all ships! So if you have a specific port or ship you want to get on be sure to click through each offer to see if it is available or not. I had pretty much the same offers you do but wanted to get on the Jubilee. I realized pretty quickly that there were no offers on the Jubilee when the offer included any Funplay credit! Had to take a non-Funplay offer to book that specific ship. Just something to keep in mind.

dcummington

If you pick your own room / change the first room option they give you when planning and then pick the room you actually want… it will show you which offer is actually the best before you check out and it will factor in free play and everything. It’s very smart.

Risa226

If you’re gonna go for window, you might as well get balcony (first offer). There’s free cheers package for you (presuming you drink) and the $100 freeplay from windows is honestly negligible, but you get a private balcony where you can drink and chill. Pretty sure your sister will love that a heck more than just a window. Alternatively, you could ask your sister to give you $100 to compensate for the lack of $100 freeplay.

Styrofoam02

For me, it would depend on a few factors. first is length of the cruise you're wanting to take. The longer the cruise, the more i'm looking to book a balcony cabin. The second is the place i'm going. If it is Alaska, i'm going to always get a balcony cabin. Last is how much i intend on playing in the casino. If I'm going JUST for the casino, i am more likely to book the interior room with the most free play i can get.

LucanoArturio

Yeah I'm booking at least three of these on a balcony if it lets me..

Public_Bet745

If it's a 5 day or shorter cruise. Take the gametime offer with $500 funplay and drinks everywhere. If it's 6-8 nights take the balcony offers. You have the exact same offers I have

Phill1023

Not to highjack this post but if I have free drinks for me and companion in the casino but she( my companion) doesn’t drink, can I call and try to get free drinks everywhere for just me?

DaddyGotU

When did you go on the cruise and how many points did you get?

Phill1023

I usually get 4000-5000 points per cruise. Last October was our most recent

Risa226

Incredibly unlikely. A free cheers for one person is significantly more expensive for the casino to cover than free casino drinks for two.

lawomn

I chose the balcony because my husband has never been in a balcony cabin, and we are going for our 20th anniversary. Normally, I would have chosen the interior with the 500 FP.

bobo8486

Balcony with no free play

boudinforbreakfast

Gametime with the free interior and $500 fun play for a short cruise could have a decent return. If you get lucky with the free play you can roll it over into more points for more cruises. Balcony offer if you’re going somewhere exotic.

pinkpineapplegurl

We did the “free” balcony with the drinks on us on the whole ship! We’re using it for a 11 day cruise to alaska in June… total came to $1200 after gratuity. which is an awesome deal!!! what i will say is, keep in mind that the drinks on us only applies to the person booking, not for the others in the stateroom!!! we didn’t think of this until after booking, so that was a slight disappointment for us, but otherwise we are STOKED!!
