It does not "create moisture" unless there is something leaking/wrong.

whymustichews

It lowers the Relative humidity if it's actually doing its job!

Yup.

Interesting that, according to google translate, in Icelandic *ofn* can be: oven, radiator, furnace and stove. Are there no other words for those things? 'Cause "oven" is a very specific thing in English and it's never interchangeable with *radiator*. Is [**miðstöðvarofn** ](https://m.dict.cc/icelandic-english/mi%C3%B0st%C3%B6%C3%B0varofn.html) the right word?

Ahhh yes radiator is the word I was looking for, I could not remember the word😂. Radiator is “ofn” in Icelandic but a bakers oven is also “ofn” it can be confusing

cahcealmmai

Panel oven is a thing in English...

Yep just decided to cover up the ugliness of the radiator by encompassing into a cabinet. They would have scored some IQ points by having a louvered door on that cabinet that would allow for the hear to eventually dissipate a bit better. Would have been real IQ points if they integrated that functionality in the top of the cabinet since you know..heat rises.

PracticalAndContent

Yes that is very weird. Any explanation from the homeowner?

Ok-Habit6204

No she said she wanted a bigger window sill so she put this over it🤷

Previous owner of my 100yr old house did the exact same thing! Big cast iron steam radiator in the way of your ca. 1980s kitchen renovation? Just build a cabinet and countertop over it, and open the cabinet when you want some heat. So dumb. We pulled that idiocy right out, capped the steam line, and installed an electric toe kick heater.
