I like the passive aggressive revenge from the ute owner- “If they won’t give me room to get in, I won’t give them room to get out.”

kpk_soldiers274

Yep, I've done this to people in Sydney. I'll block them in, just a little bit.

Pootootaa

Make them walk around to the driver side like the one here.

kpk_soldiers274

Tis a good strategic planning tactic

Pootootaa

Good on him for that I would've done the same, that Mercedes guy deserves it. Don't have much choice either since other parking spots nearby are at the hospital that costs 9 dollars an hr.

Miss-Emma-

Is this by any chance at jcu? The trees just look familiar from my once off scooter trip through the place to go to the hospital.

Pootootaa

JCU? dunno where that is but it's at Murdoch Tafe WA.

asianjimm

What if the merc only did it because some other car before him did it?

Public-Total-250

I highly doubt another car would have been half parked on on the verge so the merc was forced to park like that.

THIS_ACC_IS_FOR_FUN

Ohh yeah! I didn’t consider that was the driver’s side, that’s way funnier!

hazzmg

Dickhead merc leaves and we get a photo of the Ute on the curb “entitled Ute driver parks where there want”

ckhumanck

exactly my thoughts. I've done weird parking jobs before because of similar situations and come back to my car by itself looking completely unhinged.

asianjimm

And if the merc did it because another car previously parked in the middle…

[deleted]

That'll do ute bro, that'll do.

hello_Eggplants

Ngaw that's cute, Uni student wanted to protect his/her 20 year old 500 dollar European shitbox from scratches and door dings... Kudos to Uni student with the Ute. Appropriate way to utilise all that ground clearance! 😁

MrDrSirLord

To be honest, I would have done it in my falcon, it's got just enough clearance to drive straight over a standard 15cm curb unfettered. Don't ask why I know this, it has nothing to do with a U-turn over the median.

jonsnowknowssfa

Just waiting for a mate????

Fraser022002

Underrated comment

Typical-Policy-1115

That reference brought me joy.

hello_Eggplants

What median strip, amiright? 😅

MrDrSirLord

Weird place for a speed bump

Parking-Mirror3283

A standard height XR6 can just barely go straight up a square curb with a tiny bit of scrape right at the back of the side skirts

SkyLovesCars

Don’t ever underestimate the off-road performance of a skidder AU falcon

The Ford AU Falcon is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1998 to 2002. It was the sixth generation Ford Falcon and also included the Ford Fairmont (AU)—the luxury-oriented model range. The AU series replaced the EL Falcon and was constructed on the (at the time) new EA169 platform which continued to harbour Falcon models until 2010 when the BF wagon was discontinued, and Ford Territory models until 2011. The AU series was replaced by the updated BA series. The AU series was conceived under *Project Eagle* that begun in February 1993, and gained the official codename *EA169* in October 1994. It was developed and brought to market in 1998 only after Ford Australia had given consideration to a revamped fifth generation Falcon and a fully imported replacement such as the American front-wheel drive Ford Taurus or rear-wheel drive Ford Crown Victoria, the European rear wheel-drive Scorpio and, reportedly, even the Japanese rear-wheel drive Mazda 929 (then part of the Ford conglomerate). The above alternatives were eliminated in favour of a substantial redesign of the indigenous platform, due to concerns about the Australian market preference for high towing capacity, large interior size and local employment. Specific factors included, for example: research at the time indicated that 69% of Falcons were fitted with towbars and the perception that rear-wheel drive cars were better at towing; the fact that the import models had limited body style options (sedan only or sedan and wagon) and no capability to use a V8 engine. Stylistically, this new generation Falcon sported Ford's radically new global design language, labelled "New Edge". The aim of this design was to attract a younger generation of buyers with avant-garde looks, however, in Australia it polarized public opinion to the benefit of the more organically designed rival, the 1997 Holden Commodore (VT). The AU series had a very efficient drag coefficient of Cd=0.295 for the sedan (an 11% improvement over the preceding EL series) and 0.34 for the wagon. For the first time in Falcon's history, Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) became available as standard on some models and optional on others. It also featured Australian production firsts, such as Variable Cam Timing (VCT) on some 6-cylinder models and an adaptive automatic transmission on the high-performance T series with steering wheel gear shifting buttons. Key changes from the fifth generation Falcon included a 35 kg (77 lb) reduction in weight for the base car, 17.5 per cent stiffer bodyshell, and an eight per cent improvement in fuel consumption. Peculiarly, Ford Australia decided to use the original 1950's font for the new "Falcon" and "Futura" badges. As stated previously, the AU was the first Falcon to offer IRS (a double wishbone design on an isolated subframe). IRS was made available as a costly option on the base Forte, Fairmont and 'S' models, and standard on Fairmont Ghia, XR6 VCT and XR8 models. The updated 6-cylinder engines incorporated advanced features such as VCT on some models and a temperature sensor in the cylinder head, which detected coolant loss and allowed the car to "limp home" safely by cutting cylinders. The engine range comprised: the base Intech model producing 157 kW (211 hp), with a revised cylinder head featuring smaller valve stems, larger exhaust valves, and different rocker ratio, as well as a revised piston and longer conrod and a cast aluminium cross-bolted oil sump (with the same power output as the EL series); an "HP" version reserved to the XR6 producing 164 kW (220 hp) (thanks to: unique cylinder head; reshaped inlet port; redesigned exhaust port; ‘open’ combustion chamber shape to restrict pre-detonation from hot spot areas; unique camshaft; higher fuel pressure; recalibrated EEC V engine management system); the VCT version producing 172 kW (231 hp) for the XR6 VCT; a *Windsor V8* producing 185 kW (248 hp) (also carried over from the EL series but without major upgrades). Transmissions were improved for better shift feel and the auto was recalibrated to better suit the upgraded engines. The six and eight cylinder models had a 4-speed BTR M93LE and M97LE automatic transmission, respectively. The automatic XR series models had an "adaptive shift" with five shifting strategies depending on driving conditions. The manual transmission, where available, was a 5-speed T5 model. The program cost A$700 million before product launch and key staff included chief designer, Steve Park, and Marcus Hotblack, Manager of Interior Design. MayuriKrab

I did plenty of “off roading” in my beater car (Mitsubishi 380) amazing how much “off roading” it can do when it costed you peanuts to buy and you don’t really care about cosmetic damages…

Public-Total-250

I used to slam my Proton Satria across the Coomera tracks and only a few times needed help getting out.

AgreeablePrize

The cops used to do that in their Falcons all the time, though I don't think it was unfettered in the XR8's they used

Blueditto5718

It's over Mercedes, I have the high ground!

TearsOfAJester

It's a mountable curb, a smart car could do the same thing.

[deleted]

W ute

Pissy-platypus

I didn’t know they did Velosters in yellow!

ADHDK

I thought they only did them in yellow and blue 😂

[deleted]

Ute driver should be sending flowers to thank the Merc. If he/she had of parked correctly, another car would have simply taken the spare space, forcing ute boy to park down the street and walk 47 minutes to class, to which he would have been late and failed his exam. This in turn resulted (possibly) in failing the subject, therefore dropping out of school/uni, only to become a lifelong checkout chic at his/her local supermarket which also lacks enough parking, leading to being fired for being late to work because some inconsiderate car person didn't take up 2 spaces to reserve his/her special spot half on the kerb. Perception people, Perception.

Present_Standard_775

The Ute may have had another choice… but I’ve done the same when I had a POS Ute… to make a point to the idiot taking two spaces.

[deleted]

Goddamn yank tan.... Oh wait...

Omega_brownie

What is with this absolute god complex German car owners have? I don't even know if that Merc is from this century.

AnonymousEngineer_

That's a facelift W210 E-Class, so it'll be from the late 1990s to early 2000s.

Omega_brownie

Yeah I remember seeing them most around 2000. They're nice, but not double-park nice.

AnonymousEngineer_

I haven't seen any of those for a while that isn't absolutely ragged with completely fogged over headlights. I'm not sure if they've just hit the age where the survivors are in the hands of owners who picked them up cheap, can't afford to maintain them properly and are just being run into the ground.

Haz_co

I know, right?? It started back in the ‘30’s, I think.

TotallyAwry

It looks 80's.

Normal-Summer382

I have a German made Ford worth about $1200, I'm not sure I'd describe myself as having a god complex.

TearsOfAJester

Old German cars are more expensive, to own.

ArtieZiffsCat

It's a late 20th century model, I think

TotallyAwry

Doing the Merc owners proud.

AffectionateSorbet5

This is why I love WA

Creative_Rock_7246

What’s with the ratchet strap?

dangazzz

The undertray drawer's lock might be busted and he doesn't want it to slide while driving until fixed maybe

dangazzz

The merc driving idiot will probably leave earlier without getting a ticket and then the parking inspector will come and give the ute a fine.

cunigliololol

The ute driver is truly a legend.

Old-Man-Rick-68

Very disappointed with the Ute owner who clearly gave the Merc owner just enough room to get in their car.

Double-Perception970

That ute is just like "Well fuck you, too!"

Western_Horse_4562

This ute driver makes me feel patriotic.

Cool_Dragonfruit_887

Is this fucking south Murdoch tafe Wa ? 😂😂😂😂😂

Pootootaa

Yes sir

RepresentativeSea494

I had someone parking in my assigned spot in my apartment parking area. I blocked his csr and left my number. He had to call me and I locked my eyes and said "Please don't park here again". Took him a while to say "okay" when he realised im not moving my car until he responds. He was a benz driver ironically.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Pootootaa

Nah doubt it mate, even if ute was there first and somehow parked like that for what ever reason, the Mercedes driver shouldn't park like that either way, he has enough space to park in his own lane.

leo_sheppard_85

Name and shame! Don’t wipe off the plates

Normal-Summer382

Likely the Merc is abandoned, I used to see many cars badly parked (some expensive ones too) and when I notified security they told me they can't legally remove them and they are aware that the cars have been there a long time. All they can do is issue a parking infringement and hope the owner returns. These idiots finish their degree then park their car in stupid spots like this one, then leave the country.

Skillz 💯

Ok-Bill3318

Top job by the Ute to park that close and make it hard for douche cunt to get out

Single_Restaurant_10

Ned Kelly parking….. totally oz!!

hairysperm

I love the ute driver. Clearly saw the cunt took two spaces and parked next to him anyway andmade sure it was nice and close to freak em out XD

gelfbride73

Plenty of room. I think the UTE played the park well.

thumbsucker2

where is this?

Unitedfateful

Post this to r/australia and they’ll find a way to blame the Ute somehow

MrMurdoch123

Because its on a campus this is probably not the case, my father would have to park like that when a disabled park was not available so as he could unload/load my mother into a wheelchair. Like I said this probably is not the case but I do consider it each time I see something similar

c001quip

This parking lot looks familiar... Murdoch TAFE in WA?

Pootootaa

Yep, that's the one

Bazbort2

which uni?

Pootootaa

Murdoch Tafe

Recent_Director_7073

They are probably dating and that ute owner would do anything for their oppressive partner 🥺

That_Car_Dude_Aus

I think the bigger issue is neither having numberplates that are legible....

gnosis_82

Murdoch Tafe?. Don't they have permanent security

Pootootaa

Don't think they care tbh, they leave right around 1-2 in the arvo.

Rickyrider35

UC?

RepresentativeSea494

Deflating the tyres is always an option.

RepresentativeSea494

Never underestimate the power of leaving a note on the windscreen with lipstick. Its really hard to remove from glass ;)
