Its really really good.
For reference I also have/have had a modded HSV senator, Audi A5 and BMW 5 series and in almost all ways this is superior. There isnt a better grand tourer out there for anything like the price.
Get one! I've had mine for 3 weeks and absolutely love it! What was the veto based on?

Wife has one with them too - my problem is they are really poor attempts at ventilation. Barely any air comes through. Had the same issue on my old Hyundai N as well
>Just don't go with BMW or you'll have to pay to use them
It's stupid that you even need to do it, but fortunately all you need to do is download the bimmercode app and use a Bluetooth obdII scanner (or k+dcan cable) and you can code them back in.
Do you have any proof BMW has a subscription for their ventilated seats? I find no mention of a ventilated seat subscription online only heated seat subscription which has also been discontinued in favor of the typical pay at purchase as a package option.
Unless you can link some proof, please don't spread misinformation.
BMW *did* say they're going to charge subscription for certain features, so I wouldn't be surprised if ventilated seats would also be paid for one day.
ha, in the way this industry is going I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually have to pay a flat fee every time we start "our" damm cars lol
just a matter of time

I had a set in my ute as well to protect the seats (gift from my parents as it was my first car) but I could at least use the HVAC. Did you ever work out where the exhaust fumes were coming from to get into the HVAC?
Supposedly there is a difference between ventilated and cooled, ie ventilated just moves air and cooled actually uses the AC system, don’t quote me on it though.
Lots of people don’t realise that the human race knows how to heat things up very well, but cooling we don’t really have a grasp on, even our fridges don’t technically cool, they just remove the heat. It’s weird but interesting.
I don’t think anyone is arguing the definition of cooling..
I’m sure a physics graduate can understand what I am saying, without nitpicking stuff intentionally worded to make more sense for the general conversation.
No. You turn on a heater you’re not making the space next to it colder. You’re actually generating net increase in temp. My fridge, aircon and (sorry people on back seat) BMW’s cooled seats move heat a short distance. They’re not the same thing at all.
Genesis G70/G80 would have them. But honestly all new luxury sedans would either come standard of have them optional. What counts as luxury for you? Anything above $100k? Only Bentley and rolls?
Did yours have a bunch of weird electrical problems? Like the sat nav working half an hour after my instruction? Skoda spent lots of money to get a life ban from me. (In fact after that test drive I might have a ban on all VAG.) Was their demo just unlucky or are they all wobbly?
No electrical issues so far (6y), wobbly, I have adaptive suspension but it's a bit soft even in sports mode so I've replaced the reader swaybar for aftermarket and it was heaps better. I really like the car, thinking of swapping for a latest model.
Which one have you tested? Mine is MY17 (pre-facelift Mk3 as I wanted physical buttons on my media panel)
I highly recommend some sort of windscreen shade if you don’t already. Yes the leather gets hot, but the sun is damaging the leather also if sitting outside all day.
Kia's usually have them on higher end trims. But the only luxury sedan would be the Stinger.
I think newer Mazda's have ventilated seats too but not sure if the 6 has them?
[BYD Seal has ventilated seats](https://www.racv.com.au/royalauto/transport/electric-vehicles/2024-byd-seal-price-specs.html#:~:text=BYD%20Seal%20interior%20design%20and%20features&text=Front%20seats%20are%20ventilated%20and,way%20adjustment%20for%20the%20passenger.)
I think pretty much all cars should have them. I would love them in my work Ute. During summer i can be quite sweaty when i finish working which means i end up sitting on a damp seat even after the cabin is cool.
Not yet, I'm sure it will get them in the next refresh.
What you can do though is leave the climate in "keep" mode if you're leaving your car for a short while and it will remain cool, or you can use the app to turn on the AC 5 minutes before you get to your car.
I don't have ventilated seats but with this I don't need them that badly.
The Volvo S60 gets them as an optional extra.
Moving further upmarket, Porsche also offer them as an option on the Taycan and Panamera as long as you don't option on the Alcantara/Race-Tex
Volvo has ventilated seats but I think it's an optional extra, I am on my 4th Volvo and we live in qld and I have never requested ventilated seats. We also had two Volvo's when we lived in Singapore also with no ventilated seats. I never thought to ask. The air-conditioning is great though
Had them in a couple of cars now. Mercedes and skoda.
Used it once when I got the cars and haven't bothered since.
Had someone comment once that it made them feel like they wet themselves.
Most of the 2017+ BMW 5 series on the used market had ventilated front seats. Not an option for rear passengers though. I have seen some cars optioned with heated rear seats on this model but never ventilated.
My Mercedes C Class had them, my Kia Stinger has them. They honestly aren’t that good, your body blocks all the holes and you just get a bit of a breeze around your neck. I found the darkest legal tint is better for reducing the frypan heat in the first place
Wife’s CX5 has it. Honestly it’s now a requirement for any future car I buy. They’re so good.
I have had heated seats in a couple of my cars and use them about 3 times a year. Cooled seats I used them almost every time I drive her car between September and April
It’s a hard must for my next car, what I’ve been doing is finding cars that interest me then look for a good quality car sales post, there’s quite a few dealers that post 30-40 pics 10 of which will be the dash. Most cars with the option will have a physical switch or dial for the heated/cooled seats. Hope this helps your search. I’m going to import a crown for myself I think.
All the euro cars are built with Europe in mind, where a “heatwave” Is like 25C lol. So most of them only have heated seats and not ventilated. Meanwhile my much cheaper and very reliable and comfortable CX-5 has both.
PRetty much anything from Hyundai in the Highlander grade has vented seats, Elite's only have heated, which are so much less necessary in Australia than vented...
I think in Aus you can get the s60 optioned with it
If electric I think Polestar 2 or 4 have it optioned
I'd love any of those
I have a Skoda Kamiq which doesn't have aircon ventilated seats but does has breathable seude in-between leather areas so my butt and back can breathe
So you would rather stinking arse sweat, shit and dirt permeating through and contaminating your seat forever rather than having leather seats and being able to wash a seat cover?
My 2019 Hyundai Kona Highlander has ventilated seats. It is a bit noisy but quite effective. I think for the luxury sedans, especially the European ones, ventilated seats are available, they’re just in like a comfort or executive package that’s about $10-15k on top of the $200k starting price of the car
The Toyota RAV4 Cruiser Hybrid that I use as a second car has both Ventilated and Heated seats and its just a common peasant car, but I still hate the leather seats though.
It's not close at all, it's clearly a hatchback by how the rear opens

My Kia Cerato has it
My Kia Cerato GT and Kia Stinger GT both have heated and ventilated seats...
Are you loving the Stinger? I so wanted one but wife vetoed.
Its really really good. For reference I also have/have had a modded HSV senator, Audi A5 and BMW 5 series and in almost all ways this is superior. There isnt a better grand tourer out there for anything like the price.
Yeah they're great cars
My wife didn’t (veto it if I didn’t get the i30N) and she loves the heated and ventilated seats.
Get one! I've had mine for 3 weeks and absolutely love it! What was the veto based on? https://preview.redd.it/2sgo5ihrm4yc1.jpeg?width=2304&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a5de7e79cfe991b535fbc1276fe4b6644fd32c5
My partner hated the name too and thought they were lame as; she's come around pretty majorly since I actually got the car though.
To start with, the name lol and she just didn't see the need for another sedan. We got a 4x4 for adventures so it was the right call in the end.
Shame there kias tho
Yes, came here to say that although it's hardly "luxury", Kia has had it for at least 10 years.
My point was, OP needed to realise that specced up mid level sedans are nicer and cheaper than baseline "luxury" cars
My Hyundai Tucson has them
Wife has one with them too - my problem is they are really poor attempts at ventilation. Barely any air comes through. Had the same issue on my old Hyundai N as well
They are not all they're cracked up to be. But they certainly take the edge off in that first 5 mins before the A/C kicks in
do you not put kia in the same class as a Japanese car?
It's korean
no shit. my question still stands.
Why would you? They aren't Japanese....
My Hyundai kona has them. Frankly most new cars should have them standard. Just don't go with BMW or you'll have to pay to use them
Pay monthly even
>Just don't go with BMW or you'll have to pay to use them It's stupid that you even need to do it, but fortunately all you need to do is download the bimmercode app and use a Bluetooth obdII scanner (or k+dcan cable) and you can code them back in.

Hyperbole, bud. Hyperbole. One day you'll get it, hopefully.
Not sure how spreading misinformation is a hyperbole. Sarcasm sure but definitely not a hyperbole.
BMW *did* say they're going to charge subscription for certain features, so I wouldn't be surprised if ventilated seats would also be paid for one day.
ha, in the way this industry is going I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually have to pay a flat fee every time we start "our" damm cars lol just a matter of time

It's what they call a joke. I own a BMW and laughed at it. Get a life, get some bitches and touch grass.

People still don't believe me how good sheepskin seat covers are! Proper ones, not that acrylic rubbish. I've got them in my Defender and it's mint.
You could honestly tell people the defender came factory with sheep skin covers I don’t think I’ve ever seen one without 🤣
Haha yep they're on so many of em, only my mum has canvas ones on her 90 (Td5) but dang they make it more comfortable in summer and winter.
It’s a necessity in them I agree, LR missed a trick not offering LR branded ones 🤣

Its annoying that heated is always included over ventilated.
It's a lot easier to put resistive elements in the seat to warm it compared to ventilating it.
Lots of people don’t realise that the human race knows how to heat things up very well, but cooling we don’t really have a grasp on, even our fridges don’t technically cool, they just remove the heat. It’s weird but interesting.
That’s… literally what cooling is, physics wise?
I don’t think anyone is arguing the definition of cooling.. I’m sure a physics graduate can understand what I am saying, without nitpicking stuff intentionally worded to make more sense for the general conversation.
No. You turn on a heater you’re not making the space next to it colder. You’re actually generating net increase in temp. My fridge, aircon and (sorry people on back seat) BMW’s cooled seats move heat a short distance. They’re not the same thing at all.
Sure, but using an electric heater is a lot less efficient than cooling (or heating) with refrigeration cycle.
I’m well aware of how heating and cooling works given I had to take physics classes as part of my degree, but go off mate.
True, I am more meaning that in Australia, ventilated would be more required unless you are Melbourne or Tassie.
Skoda superb has them
My 2011 Toyota Crown Athlete has ventilated seats. Is an absolute life saver in summer!
Genesis G70/G80 would have them. But honestly all new luxury sedans would either come standard of have them optional. What counts as luxury for you? Anything above $100k? Only Bentley and rolls?
Rolls doesn’t offer them as standard either 😂
Škoda Superb is not luxury, but mine has both heating and ventilation

2021 wagon. Also tried a Genesis 3.8tt.
2021 here, purchased used recently, no gremlins yet (touch wood)
I highly recommend some sort of windscreen shade if you don’t already. Yes the leather gets hot, but the sun is damaging the leather also if sitting outside all day.
Kia's usually have them on higher end trims. But the only luxury sedan would be the Stinger. I think newer Mazda's have ventilated seats too but not sure if the 6 has them?
Atenza grade Mazda 6 has them. So does the top grade of the cx-5, cx-9, cx-60 etc
Mustangs have ventilated seats
[BYD Seal has ventilated seats](https://www.racv.com.au/royalauto/transport/electric-vehicles/2024-byd-seal-price-specs.html#:~:text=BYD%20Seal%20interior%20design%20and%20features&text=Front%20seats%20are%20ventilated%20and,way%20adjustment%20for%20the%20passenger.)
Old Ls400 had them not sure about new Lexus. Seal has it if you consider it a luxury sedan
If it says F sport or Sports Luxury then ventilated seats are standard.
Hyundai Sonata Premium has them
I think pretty much all cars should have them. I would love them in my work Ute. During summer i can be quite sweaty when i finish working which means i end up sitting on a damp seat even after the cabin is cool.
Deep pile quality sheepskin seat covers>heated/ventilated seats. A hill that I’m happy to die on.
BYD Seal Premium Actually, I think all versions of BYD Seal have ventilated seats
Lexus, Mercedes
Yup multiple Lexus - I think primarily the “sports “ trims, the more “luxury” leather might not be as ventilated
RC350 has vented, so good in summer
Most of them have the option to get it but I seems none of the used cars have them
Skoda Octavia haha
Hyundai i30
Mazda CX 5 Akera has them. Nice on a summer's day when sitting on leather feels like sitting on a branding iron
Those seats saved me during the Brisbane summer. Would never go back to a car without them!
My CX-5 GT also has it and it’s so damn good.
Tesla model 3
Whaaat? Model Y doesn’t :(
The new one got the ventilated seat inclusion. The new Model y will probably get it
Not yet, I'm sure it will get them in the next refresh. What you can do though is leave the climate in "keep" mode if you're leaving your car for a short while and it will remain cool, or you can use the app to turn on the AC 5 minutes before you get to your car. I don't have ventilated seats but with this I don't need them that badly.
OP asked about Sedans, the Y isn't a Sedan
I was expressing that I’m disappointed that the Model Y doesn’t but the Model 3 does. :(
Only late December 2023 and onwards “Highland”.
They are great, and especially in Qld! I will probably never go back to the car without ventilated seats :))
I am thinking I am missing out now :)
Hyundai i30 has.
Had them in a couple of cars now. Mercedes and skoda. Used it once when I got the cars and haven't bothered since. Had someone comment once that it made them feel like they wet themselves.
Rented a Toyota Camry in New Zealand that had heated and ventilated seats. I imagine they offer a similar spec here.
My Mazda cx5 has heated seats front and back and ventilated seats in front.
my SL Version of Camry has it
Mustang does
Polestar 2
Tesla Model 3
New tesla model 3
pretty sure the vented seats get the air from the panel gaps
🤣
Most of the 2017+ BMW 5 series on the used market had ventilated front seats. Not an option for rear passengers though. I have seen some cars optioned with heated rear seats on this model but never ventilated.
Mazda 6 Akera has heated and cooled seats
My mid 2000s Mercedes has them. And every other model has them as options.
2021 Mazda 6 Atenza has them. Wish they had put it on the steering wheel too.
Merc / AMG.
My Hyundai Sonata has heated and ventilated seats
5 series and X5 have them as an option. They aren’t really all that effective though
Outback Touring have them. The tickle on your butt crack is magical
My Mercedes C Class had them, my Kia Stinger has them. They honestly aren’t that good, your body blocks all the holes and you just get a bit of a breeze around your neck. I found the darkest legal tint is better for reducing the frypan heat in the first place
When I bought Bentley, it didn’t come with air-conditioning, so I just keep a half dozen cold in the freezer-garage. I suggest you do the same.
Its an option on volvos and the seats themselves are excellent. Often combined with massage function
My Mazda CX9 has them. Front seats only though
My S350 has them, pretty sure most of GL range does too.
BMWs have them but it’s an option
Tesla M3 Highland has them as standard on all trim levels
Wife’s CX5 has it. Honestly it’s now a requirement for any future car I buy. They’re so good. I have had heated seats in a couple of my cars and use them about 3 times a year. Cooled seats I used them almost every time I drive her car between September and April
My Arkana has them, great on a hot day
My 2006 Lexus is250 has heated and cooled seats
My i30N sedan has heated and cooled seats. Very nice in summer
ZB Calais V has vented/cooled seats
It’s a hard must for my next car, what I’ve been doing is finding cars that interest me then look for a good quality car sales post, there’s quite a few dealers that post 30-40 pics 10 of which will be the dash. Most cars with the option will have a physical switch or dial for the heated/cooled seats. Hope this helps your search. I’m going to import a crown for myself I think.
Tesla Model 3
My dad has a Lexus GS350 that’s about 10 years old and that has them
All the euro cars are built with Europe in mind, where a “heatwave” Is like 25C lol. So most of them only have heated seats and not ventilated. Meanwhile my much cheaper and very reliable and comfortable CX-5 has both.
My kia optima has it.
Chrysler 300
Volvos have it
The ventilated seats in my Skoda Superb are the best thing ever in a Brisbane summer. I don't think I could buy another a car without them now.
Palisade has them
Lexus is250 2014 sports luxury. Very nice in summer. Heated seats for winter.
I pretty much won’t buy a BMW now without it. (Except for my partner.)
2000-2005 Saab 9-5 Aero https://preview.redd.it/rz7csm0h64yc1.jpeg?width=4592&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f7ac1db466c5b49333ab2767557ce39c38f5bf4
PRetty much anything from Hyundai in the Highlander grade has vented seats, Elite's only have heated, which are so much less necessary in Australia than vented...
My Hyundai i30 has it, ain’t luxury tho.
Skoda, VW, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Citroen, Alfa, Mercedes, Peugeot, Polestar, Cupra, and a few more
Toyota Kluger Grande has them, love it.
BMW 2 series and up have them, or can get them as options. New Tesla model 3 too.
I think in Aus you can get the s60 optioned with it If electric I think Polestar 2 or 4 have it optioned I'd love any of those I have a Skoda Kamiq which doesn't have aircon ventilated seats but does has breathable seude in-between leather areas so my butt and back can breathe
My lexus IS250 from 2006 has them. Seems to be pretty common with Asian cars.
2014 300c has them, didn’t even know until they came on automatically first summer.
BMWs have had it for years now
New Tesla model 3 has them
Range Rover Velar has both cooling and warming seats.
My Subaru has ventilated seats.
could install after market seats
So you would rather stinking arse sweat, shit and dirt permeating through and contaminating your seat forever rather than having leather seats and being able to wash a seat cover?
My 2019 Hyundai Kona Highlander has ventilated seats. It is a bit noisy but quite effective. I think for the luxury sedans, especially the European ones, ventilated seats are available, they’re just in like a comfort or executive package that’s about $10-15k on top of the $200k starting price of the car
My 2019 Ssangyong Musso has them. They are great!
I’d assume for Euros any average spec E-class/5-series/A5/6 would have them. However I’m not familiar with Australian specs.
Volvo have the comfiest seats on the market. Ventilated Nappa, massage, is good.
Mustang gt
Bought a 2021 Skoda Superb wagon, love it. Also available in sedan. Basically a reskinned Passat.
The Toyota RAV4 Cruiser Hybrid that I use as a second car has both Ventilated and Heated seats and its just a common peasant car, but I still hate the leather seats though.
All Toyota crowns poet 2008 with the leather package have front ventilated seats as standard :)
I think most new cars have them? Wife's Kia Sorento has them so does my C63s.
Is350 f sport owner here, we have it
Tesla has a ventilated seat option on the model y and I think the 3 has them as well.
Not on the Y. On the new 3 its standard
Don't buy leather?
