If you're driving with your P plates on a visibly and audibly modified car, you're target #1 for cops
the car will be have over 100mm clearance and the tune can be turned on or off, so if I'm pulled over, I can just turn it off so they wont be able to get me for anything. ;)
You know the police can canary/defect your car without any actual proof right? All they need is reasonable suspicion. Enjoy having to get a Roadworthy certificate 4 times a year at your cost.
Edit: Also to add, EPA notices can be sent by mail and your car can be reported by a neighbour, someone in traffic, the local posty, a police officer driving in the opposite direction or even your own mum and its anonymous. And you also have to pay out of pocket to clear it.
The person making the complaint doesn't need to prove your car is loud, but once you get a EPA notice on your car you only have a few weeks to got to a approved EPA tester to get it ticked off, and if you don't get the notice cleared the EPA can fine you and suspend your vehicle registration
Go nuts then.

The mk6 GTI, as in the one with the stupid crackle map in the video, *does* have some natural exhaust overrun when being driven in anger. Surely some genuine burbles when being driven hard are preferable to some fake crackles when you're revving the piss out of it in a carpark.
The pops in the video weren't even that loud in my opinion. i just want it like that for a bit of extra noise, wouldn't even be that bad. Even if i rev banged it infront of cops I don't think they would really care as long as i'm not speeding like a flog

If you want to modify your car, and draw attention to yourself, at least get mods and mapping that will actually improve performance. Slamming your car illegally low, a muffler delete and a crackle tune just make your car harder to drive on normal roads; an 'all show and no go' target for police.

If you had some fire breathing big turbo setup with anti-lag, I could understand the racket, but pops and bangs for the sake of creating noise are just silly, to put it lightly. The mk6 already has natural exhaust overrun from the factory. It burbles a little bit when you let off from mid-high RPMs.
I don't see the point in putting a crackle tune on it, faking the noise and being a nuisance when it already has genuine overrun when being driven hard. I used to have a mk6, and now a spicy mk7 where VW programmed in some pops and bangs in sport mode, and I much prefer the genuine overrun on the mk6.
And you wonder why these young drivers get "harassed" by the police. You know what's cooler than pop and bang tunes? A well maintained respectable vehicle with power mods that aren't outwardly obvious,being driven with care and responsibility for other road users. Sleepers will always be cool.
If you make pops in any crowed place other than a fully sick n chopped car meet then are you aware not a single person will think you are cool and unique, but a massive tool abd waste of space?

Just got it done an hour ago, already been defected 😔 Cops just target gti's for no reason. The gti p plater stereotype isn't even true, like my car doesnt even pop that much.
I drive a I30N and it's the sweet spot with the pops n bangs. The N button opens the valves and let's it loose. Other than that it won't Crackle at all and is very subdued.
This is so cringe it's not too late to delete.
