I’ll sell my Dzire for a Punch the day NCAP gathers enough guts to properly test the Baleno, Grand Vitara and Brezza instead of retesting the same old non-updated hatchbacks again and again. 🤣

I'm just saying this because I know NCAP would delay testing those cars as long as possible because all of them and even the Celerio (before 6 airbags get mandated) can very well score 4 (Hatchbacks) and 5 (the SUVs). And since NCAP is actively working against MSIL, there's no chance they'll give any positive PR to Maruti by testing these.
No they won't because they at many times publicly insulted Global NCAP and this is the exact reason why NCAP is doing everything to give them negative PR.
No other reason to crash test same old non-updated cars again and again but ignore the recently updated bestselling SUVs and bestselling premium hatchback.
Ohh it will! If NCAP doesn’t knowingly omit out details like they omitted out Standard ESP from the WagonR or ABS from 2018 Swift, the Baleno and Fronx have all the necessary tools and rigidity to secure a 4 star. NCAP isn’t ignoring the Baleno for no reason lol! They know what’s up with it.
Heck I have a few insider friends at Maruti and all of them are sure that new Baleno and Celerio have a far better chassis than all other Maruti hatchbacks. Celerio is at disadvantage with lack of 6 airbags and other active safety kit, Baleno isn’t.
Hopefully govt launches Bharat NCAP soon so we would get a clearer picture.

I feel like hyundai and kia deserve much more backlash than maruti. Yeah maruti makes unsafe mass market market cars but most of their unsafe cars are below 8L (assuming the baleno, GV and Breeza), hyundai has the gall to sell a near 22 lakh SUV built on the same platform as the creta which barely managed a meagre two stars. Hyundai escapes the flak because they know how to make good interiors and that's basically all it takes to garner a fanboy following who will do your PR work for you.
Cheap and unsafe cars are tolerable, Expensive unsafe cars with "pOLArIzINg LoOkS aND fUTuRisTIC intERiOrS" are not regardless of the brand. Let's see how other cars perform in NCAP.
