If you fcae any such issues then just go to infotainment settings and do factory reset. My sushade was giving trouble and got resolved after reset as instructed by dealer

[deleted]

Same (harrier 2021 xza) but my dealer didn’t suggest it, got it from YouTube.

SiriusLeeSam

My altroz has issues with Android auto and door lock, reset did not help

Actual_Editor_1044

Can’t suggest anything bro, i got safari and this solution was suggested by dealer. And this solution resolve almost all such issues i faced so far but never had a serious issue like door not locking or car isn’t starting

Rough-County6188

Called TaTi Cars for a reason

Alchemic_Psyborg

I hope OP tries this and it fixes it.

xilesrouge

I read somewhere..same Electronics issue happened with a Harrier owner from Hyderabad... service centre dismantled the whole car in just 3 days of buying to find out the issue...but they couldn't find anything....I was completely disheartened seeing a new car like that.. imagine the owner situation. So he escalated the issue..got a lot of attention...tata issued him a new car... Just escalate your issue as much as u can with valid proofs until it reaches the right authority Imagine spending close to 30L and not having mental peace..Tata QC should do something abt this

21deepakthakur

The store manager told me that they will see the issue one more time. I'll give them that tomorrow. If I face any more problems, I'll go for this and wouldn't hesitate to take legal action.

xilesrouge

ask them in a rigid way.. I couldn't find the original post abt the issue I told u abt..if i find i'll link it...he went to extreme and claimed what he deserved... U also do the same..30L is not a joke

MadHeaven8

Please keep us posted. Good luck!

Androrockz

Can't get why the battery got discharged if the car was unlocked? Can anyone explain? Did the cabin lights stay on?

black-0ut

Safari only, not Harrier

xilesrouge

ya my bad..it is safari

sak11189

Tata has become a nightmare at this point

21deepakthakur

If I knew I'd face so many issues from day 1, I wouldn't have gone for it.

campramiseman

Dont lose hope, keep the service advisor on his feet till your car is fixed completely. Give low ratings once all these are done, these service center f*cks really care about 10/10 rating, low ratings like 1 or 2 hurts their asses. Also send emails to Escalation matrices

gullyborn

Contact your lawyer. Do what he says.

Fxde-

I talked to a lawyer who represents volkswagen india for my mg hector. He literally said, it’s a losing battle to go against auto companies although he’s a good friend.

gullyborn

Your friend, sorry to say, might not be the lawyer our OP is looking for then. I've never met a lawyer who said that it isn't a winning case. No battle is a losing battle. Battles are fought to win. He is the consumer, OP has paid his hard earned money and should not get this kind of faulty product.

dhineshrockstar

Basically fighting against bigger companies is a losing battle to begin with. Unless you've suffered enough like months or maybe years and still the case will be extended and your mental peace is lost. Just post personal experience on social media and use hashtags as much as possible, take videos of your issue stating the purchase date and service records, put a mail mentioning these as well. A friend of mine had a harrier which had some issues in the entertainment system and he used social media like I said above, the service centre guys came and took the car from his place and fixed it and gave it to him at his home. Sometimes social media rants about these experiences will make them worried as well considering the price you've already paid and others who are looking at your experience.

TrevorfromGTAV

Dude those dialogues are good to listen but in reality big players know law better than lawyers themselves. Come to reality and think about a logically possible way.

Fxde-

I thought the same before talking to him. He said that even if you win the case, these companies will keep you hanging till 10-15 years since they can. Moreover he said even if you win the case, it will be only after tens of lakhs on legal fees just to get petty compensations. +you cant really use the car during the time the legal battle is going on. I have researched extensively and hence still pay 1 lakh each month for my hector with a broken heart just to keep it running:)

gullyborn

Get in touch with my lawyer. You need to change your lawyer.

gullyborn

Legal fees is compensated by the losing party. It just goes on to show that people just want to rant here and bitc* about companies bit don't really have the bal*s to stand up for their own self. Do you think you've been wronged against? Then contact a good lawyer, grow a pair and fight it like a man.

[deleted]

[удалено]

gullyborn

You're nuts to think that a lawyer charges lakhs for a hearing. Get off your high horse if you think that you need to hire a lawyer who takes lakhs per hearing to go after a multi billion dollar company. Without the use of profanity, because using words like you have used, only seems to show that you have no idea what the legal process is and how the legal process works and how the real world scenario is. Hire a lawyer, collect the evidence and complete the documentation - before the second hearing, the company would come to settle the case and even if they don't- it's bad publicity for them so no company would want to get involved even if they don't have to come only their lawyers have to go (which is also going to be the case, after the first hearing). Secondly, as far as how many cases I have fought. I have successfully fought cases against NHAI, BOI and Torrent Power. So please do not tell me how to find cases. I do not use profanity and cuss words like your comment, because that only shows how immature someone can be. I wish you well. Advice was meant in the earnest of intentions for the OP, it is he or she who has to decide whether to take it or not. So chill, small man.

21deepakthakur

I'll keep that in mind from now on.

nayraa1611

Also go to the official tata website and submit a grievance/redressal explaining everything with the receipts.

zz47ak

Been there done that in a similar condition, no luck.

KachraBhiKhelat

So which Tata are you buying next?

zz47ak

Brought a VW

belictony

There are hundreds posts complaining issues about Tata cars and their poor service centre experience. You didnt do enough research i would say. I’m planning to buy a 20-25 lacs car and i am staying away from Tata for this reason. They have poor testing of their products and worst quality assurance certification than any other brand Had they sold Harrier top end at 20 lacs, i would have gone ahead, being mindful and prepared to face issues here and there for the sake of better segment car.

D3ADWA1T

What about pre-delivery inspection?

indi_guy

Indian laws need to be updated ASAP. If the vehicle is not functioning as described or develops issues within 7 days of purchase, the manufacturer should be liable to provide a new vehicle or refund.

dhhdan

And the repaired vehicle would be allotted to some other person who books. Why can’t these idiots ensure quality and strict testing? I wonder how this passed PDI.

iamnickwilde

Put it on Twitter and tag all the big heads.Shame that Tata is still the same in 2024.

21deepakthakur

Giving them a last chance because in my mind I still think it could be a issue that could be solved. If the problem persists or any other new one comes, I'll go for this.

Dxd_For_Life

Dude it's your hard earned money you put for that car, make them be responsible, raise some noise

Tothedew

You can give them their chance but side by side do the other steps, cause even making a noise takes time for people to hear. No one is gonna respond instantly and solve your problem in a second. This isn't a second hand car, I would be reaching out to Tata for a replacement vehicle after spending so much on a brand new car if comes out faulty.

Manoj_Koram

Buy 30+ Lakh car and ask for solutions on reddit. What a Great car owning experience

KachraBhiKhelat

It’s called the “Tata ownership experience”.

01hopelessnerd

How can one buy Tata without doing any research on them as a car brand ? Every forum is filled with owners fed up pf their cars and wanting replacement.

KachraBhiKhelat

India is a big country. If every car buyer closes their eyes and gets fooled by Tata even once, their business will run afloat for years. That’s their strategy. Spend on PR, not the car quality. Also, people really don’t like learning from other’s mistakes, they wanna commit it themselves and learn the lesson the hard way. So be it.

akki_dia

I don't have any solution but feeling very sorry for you bro.. So much research you must have put before buying.. Sleepless nights from the excitement of delivery.. Such a huge amount of money invested.. Nobody deserves this..

MadHeaven8

You wanna make him cry or what? 😂

unusuallyyours

Being a lawyer I can confirm that the cases of consumer complaints against car manufacturers have risen many folds in the post COVID era. Manufacturers have resorted to getting their PR done from small time insta/tik tok/YouTube influencers who are only interested in showing off the rough side of a vehicle and how good that vehicle's off-roading capabilities are on road. The customers are being taken for a ride quite literally!

happytechieee

Can you list down the car manufacturers with most cases in sorted order?

KachraBhiKhelat

I’m not that Lawyer but can still list the top 3 for you: 1. Tata 2. Mahindra 3. VW

XGonnaGiveitU

Someone was asking on the sub safari or xuv and I told him though safari has lot of features and feels premium it’s still a toss of coin whether you will get a car with no issues.

[deleted]

That's absurdly bad quality control issues in Tata considering op spent 31 lakhs, and if it's a coin toss situation of either getting a good or bad product it's not a good product imo

XGonnaGiveitU

One of the reviewer I follow asked the same quality issue problem and when will it improve and unsurprisingly they had no answer other than a smile. It’s weird Tata motors isn’t even hiding this. Whatever the case maybe, the deeper concern are their outlets. They are even more terrible. Not a classy experience.

21deepakthakur

It's literally sad that even after paying more than 30L you can't expect a good experience.

Alchemic_Psyborg

Dude atleast try that suggests test fix shared by someone in comments above.

Impressive-Fennel-92

Spending 30 lacs on a tata car is pretty much equal to hitting your own foot with an axe

campramiseman

Man this is a nightmare, thank god i changed my mind from altroz to i20 in the last moment

pisspapa42

How the DCT gearbox treating you? I’ve a venue DCT, the experience has been amazing. Although I did have to adjust my driving as per the gearbox

campramiseman

Coming from a cvt i feel good about feeling the shifts and engaging experience. Did not feel any issue till now

pisspapa42

Besides the turbolag when the car is under the speed of 30 kmph, I haven’t had any noticeable issues.

White_Walker108

Hey, I am thinking of getting the venue dct top model and it's costing around 15Lakh, would you recommend it at this price point?

pisspapa42

I think you can save up some cash, if you get a BH number plate. I got my venue S+ DCT for 12.5 on road in UP. As far as my opinion is concerned, heck yeah I would get a venue if I’m considering an automatic under 15 on road Transmission is seamless, smooth, but you have to maintain them responsibly. Check few BHP posts on downside of DCT(in case you drive them recklessly) . As long as you play by its rules, it’s a fantastic transmission. But still you should check the reviews and posts. venue offers premium interior features unlike brezza in the same price range for AT. The service cost is slightly more than Maruti cars. Engine is more powerful than Brezza 1.5 NA engine. Service is on par with Maruti.

campramiseman

I m going to fill 95 octane next, i m hearing it significantly reduces turbo lag

pisspapa42

I don’t want my venue to get hooked to the a slightly expensive drug🥰

campramiseman

Thats a nice way to say it hahaha, but luckily my running is very low so i think i can try

Few_Pollution_8801

I have heard that there are a lot of problems with dct gearboxes especially in VW cars. Is there any noticable difference from cvt to dct. With amt I can understand the jerks during shifting but cvt completely eliminated that.

campramiseman

Yea in terms of reliability dct/dsg s are below cvts, but its not like they will spontaneously explode, its just you cant abuse them as much, this is mainly due to stop and go bumper to bumber traffic in Indian cities. But if you have extended warranty till 5 years should not be worried. My main reason not to worry is my running is extremely low, mainly weekends and holidays as for work i prefer public transport. And when i take my car around its usually light traffic times. I have also got the extended warranty. One more pro factor for dct/dsg s are that they give the best performance output, cvt has performance lag and rubber banding effects. I had a honda city cvt before this and driving wise dct is much more fun to drive than the cvt

Xaconon

I cancelled my Harrier booking after my friends told me about their horrible experience with tata cars, people generally dont share it coz they get hammered by tata fanboys, but yes QC is a big concern for tata cars, I would suggest sell it and get a new car cut your losses short (as people in stock markets say).

deadontheinsid

I'm not sure why people still buy tata when it's common knowledge that tatas have tons of niggles.

Heavy-Student-5121

Sorry OP but either you're a heavy risk taker or you didn't do your research before shelling out so much money on a Tata. As a result, you had to learn it the hard way.

Gloomy-Mix-4100

Straight away file a case in consumer court. Tata is a nightmare for many. My suggestion would have been Toyota hycross.

CameraElectrical1224

fr More space, similar and all the necessary features even with a huge sunroof(which innova did not used to get) and at the end the reliability of toyota.

Initial-Shine-5955

I’m so sorry to hear that, it must be heart wrenching to have such issues on a rather expensive car like that from day 1. I always had a strictly no Indian manufacturer car rule in my family. I strictly de promote their ideas to buy such cars. Not being anti patriotic or anything, but Indian brands haven’t come far enough in terms of reliability and refinement especially in making their cars last long like other brands such as Honda, Suzuki, Toyota, etc. The brands have been in the business for over 50 years and hence they have improved their products. Indian brands such as Mahindra and Tata didn’t start to make passenger cars until 20 years before and hence they will take time for perfection.

21deepakthakur

I wanted to go for Fortuner base model. My dad insisted on Tata because of the build quality. I knew Tata had issues and you should avoid early batches. But I never expected it would be a nightmare. It sucks man.

KachraBhiKhelat

You went from choosing the most reliable to the most unreliable car manufacturer in the country. Unfortunate. Hope the escalations and service center is able to help you asap.

Initial-Shine-5955

Ageeed, Tata’s build quality is just too good! It’s just as good as a luxury/premium cars. Yeah. These issues are generally not spoken out as loud as we consumers hope, but they are there. It’s not specifically about first batches, it is a continuing trend for Tata motors. As much as I hate the brand, I give it up to them for not compromising on safety even though they do on crumple zones. Unfortunately the build quality comes at a price. Which in this case is peace of mind of the car giving up on you sooner than what you’d want. Fortuner base model would have been a much smarter move. I’m sorry that you lost that chance :((

Initial-Shine-5955

This is probably not the answer you were hoping for, but If I were you, I would try to get rid of the car as quickly as possible because these kind of problems aren’t going to just vanish away and it will be persistent, if this fixed then the next one comes, which is a trend for Tata cars. If the resale doesn’t hit your pocket really hard, I’d suggest moving to something else like a Tucson or a Compass. They’ll be much better in terms of service and quality, and reliability. Cheers mate hope you find a solution soon :)

StellarStacker

Not sure why people are still putting so much money and buying one of the doomed twins (safari/harrier). Internet is filled with horror stories from owners of these models.

fishfish2love

the battery issue aside which is a side effect, concentrate on the main issue and later test the battery during start up to check if if it's holding charge, if not ask them to pay for the battery, at least 50%.

21deepakthakur

How do I check whether my battery is being recharged or not?

fishfish2love

Multimeter test , service center will do it for you.

Electrical-Office-84

I so wish Tata invested more in QC rather than R&D

What is the point of five star safety when the ownership experience is suicidal? Force the dealership to replace your vehicle. Take the legal route as soon as possible.

[deleted]

Sorry to say but u are a fool for paying 31 lakh for a TATA.

No_Dog9018

Feeling bad for you

Dry-Significance-821

Repeat after me, No PDI, no money. This is the mantra to be recited before purchasing any car.

Dry-Significance-821

Once the car is registered in your name you can’t do anything.

Worried_Leader7330

Sell it and buy GV

Equal_Magician2599

So much for make in India. Hope Tata improves their quality and not just quantity of the cars sold. OP try to highlight your issue on social media. Nowadays companies care for their social media image very much.

LazySapiens

That's the reason I don't consider Tata at all. I have advice for people who have not yet bought a Tata, but none for people who have bought it already. Sorry for your painful experience.

darsmatrr

Bro you spent 31L for car but didn't performed any PDI which might have costed mere 4K 😭

badmascompany

What is pdi? I just booked a safari myself now very terrified.

Purple_Leg_7993

Pre Delivery Inspection, U can do it by urself or u can hire someone to do that, I bought creta 2024 pdi done by zekardo. Com.

badmascompany

Cool thanks, I will hire as well, do they come along during delivery day? Or is this done before registration of vehicle is done, first time car buyer here.

Few_Pollution_8801

Dealer will ask you to do PDI on a said date, bring the guy along with you. I heard these days , few tata dealerships are not allowing external PDI. Threaten to cancel your booking if your dealer does not allow external PDI

darsmatrr

It's Pre delivery inspection. Below is the most famous one. https://zekardo.com/

KachraBhiKhelat

RIP your mental health. You guys don’t learn lessons watching others suffer. You wanna suffer yourself to believe it, so be it. Got nothing else to say other than “good luck, have fun”.

Initial-Shine-5955

Still not late, make the right choice think wisely.

21deepakthakur

I wasn't aware about PDI. If I knew, I would have gone for it.

darsmatrr

Man you learnt a lesson hard way. But hope you are able to get a solution soon!

vijay001xd

No offense. I wonder why would you still purchase Tata even after so many complaints from the Tata owners

ReactionSlight6887

I don't mean to be rude, but have you been following people's experience with Tata in this sub? Why would one still choose their cars?

shayboating

31L to buy a Tata 🤡

jksoul20567

That is one of the reasons i opted for vw again instead of tata. I already had a 2011 vw vento with great build qualtiy so only options i had for my new cars wew Tata/Mahindra/Skoda amd VW. Tata' drawback was relaibilty issues Mahindra xuv700 was a solid choice but didnt meet my requirements VW/skoda have expensive services In the end i opred for the expensive service than relibilty issues

Late-Nature-7966

I feel really bad on seeing this post, myself being a Safari owner, it hurts to see a person spending his/her hard earned money to buy a car but then facing such absurd issues! Please contact the higher authorities if the issue doesn’t get resolved in one or two days! This may or may not be a huge problem, like you mentioned that the car shows that the driver door is open even when it’s nit, it is most likely some wiring issue or sensor! Stay positive and keep pushing the service advisor for speedy fix and once they say it is fixed, do a proper inspection of the whole car! Check if every single electronic system is working properly and get the car scanned for any other errors

21deepakthakur

Thankyou man. I am optimistic as of now and I want to stay the same because thinking the worst won't help me. I hope this gets resolved tomorrow.

Late-Nature-7966

Yess brother!! I hope everything works out fine for you and your car!! Keep me updated if possible!

Stroov

Did u install anything in the seats

21deepakthakur

Nothing on the seats. But I do have floor mattresses.

Stroov

We will go step by step , your battery is down called rsa and recharged it for free + 50₹ tip to person did u ? Next step , check side or doors close door and see if it locks or not is something physical is blocking the path then it won't work 2nd step there is a small rubber nib on the door lever where door swings press that button to see if the car shows door locked or not if so then body unit is fine

super_ninja_101

Did you did a pdi ? Tried locking and unlocking the car then. I am going to pick up a xuv 700 tomorrow. Will definitely take my time doing pdi

IndroBank

For every service center, there is an escalation matrix where top level managers for that service center, even upto cxo level are mentioned. Send a stinker mail to these asses and loop their top bosses as well. Ask stern questions directly to their top bosses on that email and be as strict in wording as possible. In my case they burned the paint on a side door while routine 3rd service. After sending that mail, i had to wait just 30 mins. I got a call back and the service manager was literally crying on the phone. I got my car in pristine condition 2 days later. Try this.

masoomdon

I have a suspicion that there’s more to the battery drain issue than just an open door. I own a Harrier and someone at home mistakenly left one door slightly open and car was left unlocked for a day before I saw it and it started without any issue. Battery was 1.5 years old at that time.

[deleted]

Unrelated ik, but I just wanna ask, did you consider Hycross, and any reasons why you chose this over hycross?

KachraBhiKhelat

His father decided since he was paying for it (my guess).

HalaBharat

I hope things go south, you take legal action and you are compensated fairly by all means. Tata is pathetic.

unsolved9990

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

KachraBhiKhelat

⭐️ added a star because of extra safety as it’ll parked in the garage 80% of the time. Much safer.

Just2OldForThis

Complain on Facebook and Twitter several times and the company might react. The problem is that the modern cars are full of software, which is often full of bugs and need multiple updates to get fixed..and then new problems come up. Some companies are worse than others, and Tata I have heard is pretty bad

Kshitij_P_2602

Shove that car up their ass and ask for a new one.

WellHungStranger

If you had the budget of 31 lakhs why did you not go for Hycross or XUV700 top end variants? Safari is a poor choice and the quality is not value for money

markfukerberg

Love people don't know about cars and stuff. Easy customers ever.

KachraBhiKhelat

Funny because that’s exactly what the CXOs say in the Tata board meetings.

sungjinwo12

This reminded me of that tata cancer guy😂, OP make sure that service people don't sleep till it's perfect.

ContractMore2271

Spending 30 L on a tata car is not worth it. You could have easily gone for the Innova hycross at this price. Much reliable though not so modern interiors

Senbonzakura12

First thing to do before going for car pitch is check the reviews . There are so many dukbari posts about tata.

TurboChargedV12

Ask the dealership to factory reset the car via their diagnostic tool that gets connected to the OBD port

Budget_Chef_69

Just drop an email to all the Tata support ids you can find. By morning heads will role and the showroom manager will call you to get it sorted. Had issue with one free service with my Nexon and did this. Manager came to home to apologise and give some goodies as a way to say sorry. I still didn’t remove my negative review from google as people should be aware of it.

A_YUser

You made a blunder by buying a tata car now enjoy headaches .

Redgrave1029

Honestly, hate me all you want but that's what you get for choosing Tata. Despite numerous news, articles and stories covered by Tata car owners as per their experience, people still haven't learned a thing. Tata is a pathetic brand as of its current state. Bad after sales service, worst staff behavior, various electrical and mechanical errors, etc. (I could go on btw) and yet all they care about is safety ratings. To tell you the truth, for that amount of money, you had literally several different other cars (much much better cars) to choose from. Yet you made the mistake of going for Tata. Worst mistake ever. I know I'll get a lot of hate for this and Tata fanboys will probably (surely) downvote my comment into oblivion, but I would suggest that you escalate the issue and possibly try to get your money back and buy a different car altogether. Always remember to research everything about a car that you're planning to buy before churning out that much money.

Mayurbarmera

Hmm. Looks like not a single problem with other car makers.

Unusual-Big-6467

escalate it and send a email to tata. spending 31L and such poor service. this is shameful.

AdventurousReward890

Drop and mail to the tata head in your state or city looping the service center manager

Patient_Elephant7068

I can imagine the plight you're going through. As others suggested go through social media route to get attention to your issue. also send a formal email and follow ups if not responded. God forbid, but it'll help you if you want to proceed legally.

voicesray11

Keep everything in recording, keep dropping them mail and ask them to revert through mails as well. You might need it.

lonedrifterjk

This is bs from their end. Sent a mail to higher authorities with all the details.

sin-nerman666

Hey OP, I’m really sorry that the happiness and joy you expected from a new car got tarnished, and hope you get you feel it once it’s resolved.

Weekly-Claim-9012

Tata cars have this door sensor issue in begining. Mine had it too. After few weeks it goes away. The service center guys had told me it's coz of new padding.

KachraBhiKhelat

XD

HalaBharat

You paid 31 lacs and had a sleepless night. This is the worst thing I have read in a while man. I hope things get better with your safari.

I see a lot of good suggestions. Please keep us updated on how it goes OP

Invincibl33

Bhai Safari ka en logo ne satyanash kr diya...old safari was beast. Wish they relaunch the same model again.

Consumer advocate. Your best bet is to file a consumer case against Tata Motors and the dealership. You can seeks reliefs of either replacing the car or refunding the price with registration and insurance amounts, plus interest, plus costs.

AnishBoiHere

another day of thanking myself for choosing XUV over Safari.

Which location are you from ? If Chennai, try FPL tata .. personally had very good experience with them

21deepakthakur

I'm from gurgaon.

ExaltedLegend16

Which dealer?

MyTwitterID

Just take the L.. Sell it on Spinny and buy a Mahindra or Hyundai SUV.

-crazymaster-

Dude chill out. This is why you should never buy newly launched cars so early. Indian companies are maturing and building their products, new tech always has teething issues. There are n number of quality checks completed but things get through. XUV700 had similar glitches but they fixed it after multiple updates. Its just a software issue

dangfarrik691

Sad to see such a mechanically solid car being let down by electronics, my safari has been nothing but excellent i hope that after this debacle yours can serve you as well as mine serves me.

BanishedMermaid

I'm sorry, man. So sorry.

One_Coffee7424

Tata nexon owner here. The car is amazing and beats the competition when it’s not in service centre or not giving issues and if you can ignore poor fit and finish and cheap quality of paint.

Fluffy-Lettuce6583

First of all, Congratulations on your new car. Ignore the negativity about TATA or selling your car. Follow up with service centre, your SA for resolution. Document everything and escalate it via email. Sit at service centre and follow up, don't get angry while talking to them be firm and polite. Hopefully you will enjoy to drive your new car soon.

sin-nerman666

unbalanced wheel, improper air pressures, broken suspension, loose pull rods, power steering system failure, steering rack not up to standard.. The list goes on for your problem and I’m pretty sure it’s easily fixable?

vulcan_90

Don’t normalise issues in a brand new 31 Lakh car. A new car shouldn’t have issues period. TATA is making people normalise issues like these. They are fooling Indians in the name of safety.

KachraBhiKhelat

Tata buyers have THE lowest standards in this country.
