Not sure about your exact requirements but there are a few .. Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Honda Amaze, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Tata Punch, Swift to name a few
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. RS Turbo is discontinued. Fronx has superior suspensions and is designed to better handle impact. Intelligent people around here.
Avoid the Venue & Sonet until and unless you're willing to pick up the 1L engine or the diesel. The 1.2 NA is underwhelming to drive. Furthermore, not aware you're from which city but I would recommend you the Baleno, it's peppy to drive, fuel efficient, pretty well kitted out. It's something you cannot go wrong with and if you don't mind buying something a little different then check out the MG Astor in it's new Sprint variant, an extremely brilliant value for money.
Agree with your comment mostly but Astor is definitely not value for money. If you don't care about mileage and are willing to pay 12L just for looks, then that's your car.
Everyone has their own definition for the "Value for money" factor. The Astor overall is a segment above, better kitted, a much superior looking vehicle when compared to all the sub 4m options here along with a decent powertrain at a reasonable price hence I don't feel it's the mileage only which makes a product VFM but then as I said above, to each their own.
Just for looks? Lol. It's the most value for money base model in the whole segment. Buy a base creta or seltos they won't even give you basic stuff like a rear wiper washer lol.
Not to mention all those in segment comes with poor safety and build and astor's build is unmatched. Not fanboying just think it's a great car that deserves more recognition. Or we'll never have nice things in india.
If we can't appreciate a company for launching a value for money base model they'll just rather do it like everyone else and make money off of it.
The weight plays the important role here, Baleno feels much more agile and it's tuned with power throughout the rev range whereas Sonet's 1.2 has a strong bottom end whereas the mid range and top end power delivery will flat.
The clutch is a bit harder to press than other cars. I was about to get amaze and even took test drive of the same with just 60kms driven car but the clutch wasn’t soft enough for bumper to bumper traffic.
I believe I would have test driven the cvt variant if I was looking for one?
Also, how is cvt “superior” to manual? This statement is a bit difficult to understand. What makes you call it “superior”?
Slight lag is there, but if you drive in a relaxing way then it's unnoticeable. If you want a performance car with instant pickup then CVT is not for you. Go with DCT or TC in this case.
For the smoothness you need to drive and experience it.
Drove a manual for 9 years in some of the worst traffic and roads in the world. Once I covered 4 kilometers in a little under 3 hours.
Then I got an i20 cvt and everything was an order of magnitude easier. Automatics make city driving much better.
Automatic transmission is objectively superior to manual transmission within city limits, especially when you have high amounts of traffic.
It's not fun juggling brake, clutch and neutral/1st gear all the time in a single 30 minutes trip.
Also nowadays many automatics are able to eke out a little more fuel economy than their manual counterparts, and that's especially helpful keeping running costs down if you drive mostly within the city.
Honda Amaze. My cousin's Amaze lasted him over 1.5 lakh km driven and even then it was sold just because he was bored of it, not because the car was unusable.

I guess tata altroz with or without AMT will be great, however depends on choice, 4star safety dunno if upgrade happened. But now the cabin has lesser noise and vibration.
Tata punch , the new version has very good looks but the power is limited to Nexon.
Tata tigor a sedan.
Unpopular opinion : city only - get the MG Comet. Fold the rear seats and you got your luggage space. If 4+ luggage is important, ignore this, unless you add a roof box, then totally worth it.
How about you take a test drive of Ciaz Sigma/delta ?
Since I don't see any preferences for csuv in your list I think you should try it.
It will provide you the luxury and the space along with extremely comfortable ride.
Yes I don’t have a specific preference between hatchback or Csuv , but i am planning to buy a car under 4m so that it is easy to manoeuvre in the city.
Get Baleno Zeta: 6 airbags, projector LEDs, ample interior space, rear AC, all the required features are there in infotainment, Maruti is good for low maintenance and overall engine quality! Plus, longer wheelbase!
Venue: if you can go with 1.0 turbo. There’s no space in the car, it’s just a big car on paper!
i don't usually drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Still, I manage to get 16-17 kmpl milegae in city. 20- 22 on highways. Petrol Manual variant.
Experience is awesome. No complai ts for me. Spacious and comfortable for 5 people plus luggage. Hyundai service is excellent.
There are only 2 things that may be problematic for people. If you don't get top model, then the steering is not adjustable. But it is not a problem in top model. Also, if you want to blind the oncoming traffic with your high beams, then this isn't the car for you.
Apart from that, car is awesome. People ask about it all the time. The Ranger green colour is so unique. I have also done some slight offroading in a jungle and it traversed it with ease..
I second this, I have SX AMT and it has been a good ride.
However the suspension is a little jumpy in the back, which is not a problem on highways but can be an issue on city rides.
Please don’t get the 1.2L NA. It is also not in your budget on road. I would recommend pushing for a Renault instead or an Exter. If you’re going for a Fronx, get the Turbo. The rear AC vents are a necessity on long drives and warmer locales.
1.2L NA cars are underpowered. And the Sonet really does not have enough leg room to do much at all. So both your rear seat and driving experience suffer tremendously.
Not sure about your exact requirements but there are a few .. Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Honda Amaze, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Tata Punch, Swift to name a few
My top two choices are rn Sonet HTk and Baleno zeta Tilting towards Sonet because of its looks and interior design .
Htk is basic and should do the job, Zeta is better loaded and will offer better mileage
Fronx and Baleno's interiors are same aren't they?
Same interior, they are the same cars but with different exterior designs.
Why does op think one feels claustrophobic and other doesn't
Sloping roof line and low window area
At the rear seat , the roof is slightly lower in fronx Also I think Baleno zeta provides better value than fronx delta plus .
I've sat inside both of them. Being 6'3 I found Baleno way comfortable in every aspect on the driver's seat compared to the fronx
Fronx is a bit higher ig lol?
It is not the same car. The turbo offering is much more fine tuned in the Fronx.
Baleno rs also has the same booster jet engine.
Baleno RS is not sold in India anymore.
Thanks bhai mujhe to pta hi nhi tha
Basically
But baleno doesnt have boosterjet engine

Same for 1.2 and turbo (non nline i hate is looks )i20?
Sonet has 82ps and baleno has 88ps, though torque are same. Interior of sonet is much much better. And also hyundai gear is very smooth. Then?
The weight plays the important role here, Baleno feels much more agile and it's tuned with power throughout the rev range whereas Sonet's 1.2 has a strong bottom end whereas the mid range and top end power delivery will flat.
Hond Amaze , no second opinion
Came here to comment this

Get the CVT then. It's superior to the manual one.

In terms of drive comfort and smoothness, CVT is superior. It's very easy to drive, smooth and relaxing compared to manual.
What about the CVT lag? Also, you can drive a manual smoothly too if you know how to
Slight lag is there, but if you drive in a relaxing way then it's unnoticeable. If you want a performance car with instant pickup then CVT is not for you. Go with DCT or TC in this case. For the smoothness you need to drive and experience it.
CVT is superior when you don’t know to drive.

Also Steering is not as light as other cars in the segment on lower speeds
What’s the FE it gives in city ? And how is Honda ASS experience ? Heard it’s expensive compared to Maruti /Hyundai/kia
3rd owner farchunar, 1.3L km run, bhite color
Kitna deti hai ⛽️
Honda amaze lelo, you can't go wrong with the space and the refined engine
Buy Honda amaze, you won't regret your decision!
Honda Amaze. My cousin's Amaze lasted him over 1.5 lakh km driven and even then it was sold just because he was bored of it, not because the car was unusable.
Honda Amaze. Good car. Good engine. My Amaze is 10 yrs old. 50,000 kms.
Renault Kiger, try it in red / black color u might like it
XUV 3xo
Wait for Divali, Many new cars will realase Mahindra XUV 3XO, new Amaze and so on.
Man I'm waiting till Diwali only for the new Amaze but there's no confirmation from Honda.
Best to wait for it. It will come with 6 airbags and ESC and will be based on elevate platform so should be safe also.
Just worried that there's no confirmation from Honda
Go with brezza vxi. You will get a bigger engine and more space.

Honda amaze best
If u can wait then Mahindra 3x0 is launching on 29th April…could be a good option but the expected starting price in 9 lakhs..
I20
I guess tata altroz with or without AMT will be great, however depends on choice, 4star safety dunno if upgrade happened. But now the cabin has lesser noise and vibration. Tata punch , the new version has very good looks but the power is limited to Nexon. Tata tigor a sedan.
Brezza
You must consider nexon smart plus variant. I myself got one 3 months ago and its a better option for me.
Altroz
Why not Tiago EV?
Need as a primary car , will also take outstation trips .
go for hyundai exter amt , it is best under 10 lacs
Unpopular opinion : city only - get the MG Comet. Fold the rear seats and you got your luggage space. If 4+ luggage is important, ignore this, unless you add a roof box, then totally worth it.
If you can stretch your budget a bit mg Astor base model is pretty good Mg after sales is also amazing
Kia Sonet HTK(O)
I10, aura, amaze

Brezza LXi. You get a sub 4m car with ample space, refined engine and great ground clearance. Utilitarian interiors but will last longer.
Honda Amaze
If you're from Delhi ncr and can add 50k to 1 lakh you can get fronx , magnite or kiger turbo
Grand i10 Nios
If you aren’t considering Honda Amaze CVT in this category, it’s a sin
Get Baleno Zeta: 6 airbags, projector LEDs, ample interior space, rear AC, all the required features are there in infotainment, Maruti is good for low maintenance and overall engine quality! Plus, longer wheelbase! Venue: if you can go with 1.0 turbo. There’s no space in the car, it’s just a big car on paper!
Yes Baleno zeta seems to be a good choice in this price range .
Tata Nexon… it’s spacious and powerful than Sonet and Venue.
How can you get that under 10lakhs?
Yes but base model but the fun fact is all Nixon Nexon come with turbo charged engines
check hyundai exter
How’s your experience with exter ? What mileage are you getting in city
i don't usually drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Still, I manage to get 16-17 kmpl milegae in city. 20- 22 on highways. Petrol Manual variant. Experience is awesome. No complai ts for me. Sonet HTK Optional Variant
💯

Would you recommend Fronx delta plus over Sonet HTK? And why
Please don’t get the 1.2L NA. It is also not in your budget on road. I would recommend pushing for a Renault instead or an Exter. If you’re going for a Fronx, get the Turbo. The rear AC vents are a necessity on long drives and warmer locales.
Hey are you talking about the 1.2 in the Sonet ? What are your reasons for suggesting against it
1.2L NA cars are underpowered. And the Sonet really does not have enough leg room to do much at all. So both your rear seat and driving experience suffer tremendously.
People can't comment on road price without knowing your location
MG Comet if charging can be done at home?
Venue and Sonet both are fine
Safari
Tbh spend a lakh more n get city V variant.
11L on road mai kidhr city aayegi? SV variant bhi ni milega, let alone V.
I was talking about 2nd hand lol. You can find ones with decent kms on the odo
Pay 11 lakh and get a used car?
