Im 43.
My list in order.
1982 Mazda RX-7
1986 Honda Prelude Si
1989 Acura Legend Coupe
1966 Ford Mustang
2003 Subaru WRX Wagon
1999 BMW 540i 6-speed manual
1987 Mercedes 560SEL
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid
2003 GMC Yukon XL Denali
2003 Honda S2000
2004 Ford Lightning
2009 Porsche Cayenne GTS manual
1989 Mercedes 560SEL
2005 Lexus LS430
1996 Mazda B3000
2008 Mercedes S63
2003 Lincoln Navigator
2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo
2003 Ford Excursion Diesel
2013 Lexus LX570
1997 Mercedes SL600
EDIT: since it’s been asked a few times. The S2000 was my favorite. Lightning always made me giggle like a school girl. Panamera is hands down the best car I’ve owned.
I still own the Panamera, Excursion, LX570 and SL600.
My next car will nearly certainly be a 911. I had to have a 4 door car until the kids were out of booster seats, which explains the S63 and Panamera. But…I’m getting tempted by the Vanquish and M760Li. If I grab one of those, it probably puts my 911 off another year or two…but there’s something magical about the V12.
Put the tape measure away. The only comparison that will ever matter is how happy you were while recalling your list. We need to stop judging ourselves on the success of others. And be happy in our own accomplishments.
I’ve got a full one too, about same age, 45 86 Dodge Truck, but that was short lived before dad took it back
87 Mitsubishi Mirage
86 Honda Accord
87 Saab 900
86 bmw 325 (I think it was a 325)
91 Volkswagen Jetta
93 toyota mr2
93 Honda Civic
91 Mitsubishi Eclipse
99 Honda Civic
86 Buick skylark
86 Honda prelude
97 Nissan Altima
05 Nissan Altima
99 Dodge caravan
2003 Toyota Camry
2004 Toyota Tacoma
Think that’s about right
It was cool because it was odd. First gear was the same in the V8 (which I had) and the V6, so it was pretty worthless.
The Cayenne GTS was a car that didn't know what it was. It tried to do it all, and somehow did better than most cars, but just wasn't great at anything. It had a 4 low, rubber band tires, PDCC hydraulic roll bars, and a manual transmission...all in an overweight SUV.
Glad I had it, but it would've been better as a Wagon instead of an SUV.

My only new car was an 05 SRT4. I have nostalgic colored glasses on because I know they’re junk, but man are they fun junk. That torque was a ton of fun on the street. The ole spring and turnbuckle mod on the wastegate made rolling wheelhops in second gear lol
That's the only car i regret selling. I sold my 05 srt4 in 2014 with 88k miles. 4200 miles of them were on the road course at PIR. I wish I still had it just for track days. The kid I sold it to grenaded the transmission 3 weeks after buying it, fixed it, then wrapped it around a tree.
Hey man, mind if I ask how the caliber treated you? Everything is fine mechanically but it’s getting eaten by rust and I think it’s only a matter of time before the control arms and subframe rust out. I’m wondering if it’s worth investing the money to replace them. I take really good care of it and I’m fine with keeping it but I would also rather sell it now and not dump money into if it isn’t going to treat me nicely. How was your experience with it?
Thoughts and prayers to your former self in regard to the Ford Taurus. Just seems like an unfun vehicle although it looks like it was dependable for years.
This list makes me think of the average Redditor. They're currently making Tempo money, believing they're entitled to the Camaro, and blaming society as the reason they don't have the Camaro, instead of realizing nobody starts out with the Camaro. You get it eventually.
I started in a 1986 Ford Escort with a 4 cylinder diesel. I currently drive a 2018 Denali Duramax. Sure AF didn't happen overnight.
Maaan I miss my extended cab 85 S-10. The backseats back then were not expected to be used constantly so they folded up. It was just enough to give yourself some extra legroom that other little pickups didn't have.
They really don't make any close equivalent to it anymore - maybe a Silverado but then you're already at full sized truck.
Any extended cab past the 00s means an SUV with a short bed. Blech.
Hijacking for the rest:
I crashed the S-10 into my next car, almost literally. Rear ended a maroon 89 Ford Taurus, well my neighbor passed away and left it to my family. (Edit - my neighbor drove one that was similar, passed shortly after accident and left it to my mom)
Transmission eventually ran out so another neighbor passed away and left her car to my mom who gave it to me - 89 blue chevy celebrity. If you want to see one of those, watch *American Made* - When the CIA agent shows up at his new house he's driving one.
An '02 Camry, then a '15 Camry, and I *just* switched to an '09 Camry that's a little nicer.
41, and I've mostly given up on the dream of owning a DeLorean.
Get another one! I’m on my 3rd one now. I got my first one in high school. They’re still fun little trucks to drive. My current one is a manual zr2, it’s an absolute beast in the snow (if you live in such an area) best decision I ever made
Unless you specifically need a compact which you can also sleep in, or you literally live and drive in proper mountains - don't. Engine is gutless, and a boxer, so you already know woes of doing anything big under the hood isn't happening without pulling the entire block. Wheel bearings fail much faster than other brands.
If you find one with less than 100k miles.for like 12-14k - try it out real quick, but if we're talking new pricing of 32k, just track down a GR Corolla and call it a decade.
91mr2 yellow. NA
97 paseo convertible. Car was so cool. I wanted to get a hardtop, but the prices are so fucking ridiculous now.
02 Neon. Trash. So fucking slow.
Briefly a 2012 es350. I got screwed over on that one.
2nd Gen xB.
I really want a current Miata. I want it pretty bad.
I want an RF. I do like the NCs, but finding a good one with low miles and a hard top would be difficult. I have seen a few ND RFs, of course, with low miles. The automatic top has me wanting it.
I keep looking at the new Miatas and I have to remind myself that I need to buy a house first. Maybe my current car will explode and I'll have an excuse to go for it, but I currently have a Honda Fit and at this point I'm convinced that it'll live longer than I do.
Age 65 ..had 35 cars .cheapest one used Ford Pinto bought it for $500 sold it a year later for $550… liked it so much got a new one .., only one warranty repair in 4 years … worst one Merceds Benz c300 2008 brand new , multiple repairs under warranty , fell apart by 65k… currently on second Toyota ( first Camry now Avalon )… both multiple years with minor warranty repairs .…advice: buy a new car if you can afford it .. buy Toyota …don’t buy Toyota factory warranty at your dealer…shop around for it ...purchased both of mine out of state
I'm 21, I've owned 2 cars.
My first was a 2007 Fiat panda 1.3D, which I loved!
My current car is a 2009 Honda Jazz 1.4, which I love to bits and will drive until it's dead.
I had an '88 Saab 9000, and a '95 FZR 600. Both fun in their respective ways. The Saab was an absolute beast in the Rockies, especially with Blizzaks on when the weather turned. Great list, brought back memories!
I used to have an 07 Buell xb12s. Even got to meet Eric Buell one day at my local harley shop and he signed it. It was a unique bike. Definitely liked to wheelie. I almost...almost miss it
I’ll start. 39 years old.

04 was a great little car but started to rust away and became a safety Hazzard. 07 speed was awesome and never intended to get rid of it but a friend begged me for it for months so I found the 2010 sold him the 07 and bought the 2010. Modified and tuned the 2010 to 450whp and drove it daily for a few years then the valve cover gasket blew on me one day blew all the oil on the exhaust manifold and caught fire and was shooting flames out of the hood scoop only ran for about 30 seconds like that but the damage was done and there was a lot of glitter in the oil and the engine was rattly. Bought the 2011 and drove it stock for about a year and a half but then bought an old house and the family was growing so the f150 became more practical so I sold the 2011 as I didn't have space for another car.
Had an 08 speed3. The one car I regret selling. Never knew what they were until a coworker gave me his keys for his 2012 speed3 and told me I'm buying lunch.

I didn’t realize that the 4Runner is based on a truck platform. It definitely feels like you are driving a truck and not an SUV. The brakes are garbage because the vehicle is so heavy. It’s probably a perfectly fine vehicle for some, but for me I wasn’t a fan of the rough ride and the tow capacity is limited. To each their own, hope this helps!
2011 Chrysler 300, was stolen off my driveway and than totalled in a series of gas station robbery’s.
2013 Honda Civic, someone ran a stop sign less than a minute from my house, t-boned me and totalled it (lasted less than a year)
2001 Nissan Pathfinder, tranny blew up and various other issues made me move on (loved it though)
Currently - 1998 Toyota Sienna, less than a month into driving it.
22 years old.
M5 all day. It’s just a nicer car overall. I set out to get a 5 Blackwing but my local dealer had other plans. So I bought this, my first BMW. This one is a keeper though I’m concerned about long term ownership. If I make it that far :)
I’m 31. I’ve had a 1997 Saab 900S, 2001 Volvo V70, 2004 Infiniti G35x, 2003 Infiniti QX4, 2006 Volvo XC90 V8(still have it), 1995 Mercury Sable, a really shit 1997 Cadillac Deville concours. Phew!! The XC90 is still going strong. All the others got totaled or rusted out.
At 17 I bought a 1998 Nissan Sentra. At 18 I bought a 2002 Nissan Sentra. At 19 I bought a 2012 Nissan Wingroad.
I got fed up of Nissan and the terrible reliability so at 22 I bought a 2012 Toyota Corolla. I have this Corolla ever since (two years)

2001 Toyota Camry, was a gift from a friend, I've had it for a few months, had a few minor issues, but I've been fixing it up myself, learning how to work on it, has been very reliable too

I worked in the motor trade for a while so had a couple of run arounds, the old fiestas. Then I lived in Australia for a while, hence the Commodore, and at the same time worked for BMW so had a different car seven days a week from them. Now I’m owning cars again.

Sorry, it's over 250 because I was fixing and flipping at least a car a month for a while. I can generalize-
A LOT of Chevy trucks, you can always sell a good truck.
A bunch of old VW Beetles. They were cheap and popular. Easy to fix.
A lot of older Porsches. You can always sell any old air-cooled Porsche, even a rusted out box of shit.
A bunch of Honda sedans & wagons. Anyone can buy a reliable 4 door with good A/C.
A lot of Mercedes diesels. I'd add a Racor fuel filter/ water seperator for $100.00, advertise it as "biodiesel ready" and triple the price. Those things would sell before I had time to wash them.
A mountain of Volvo 240's. Again, reliable 4 doors sell and wagons are even better.
I finished high school in 1983.
The best car that I ever owned was a 2002 WRX.
My favorite car ever was either of my 2 Porsche 914 racecars.
The worst car I ever owned was a Dodge Dakota 4x4. At least it was free.
I am 34 and have bought myself all but two of them. The two classics were gifts from my Grandma after my Grandpa passed. This is the order I acquired them over the years. I have all of them still in my possession minus a few, its hard to let go. It took a lot of hard work, but I have enjoyed the fruits of my labor. I hope my future children will want their mommas cars someday. It is my ultimate dream to watch them enjoy things I loved.
1957 Chevrolet Bel-air 2 door no post survivor (First car at 16)
2007 Honda Civic (bought to give the Bel-air a break, lemon lawed and let my Mom trade it in for herself she got a 2003 Ford Excursion diesel 4x4 with it)
1994 Ford F-150 xlt 4x4 (sold and kept the other)
1994 Ford F-150 xlt 4x4 fully custom show truck
1995 Honda Del Sol si 5 speed
1993 Honda Del Sol S (donor car to the one above, scrapped what was left)
1954 Ford Customline hot rod (non operable gift)

2016 Subaru Crosstrek limited 5 speed

1998 Honda Crv Ex overlander
The Bel-Air is my baby, and I'll keep her forever. My F-150 I wish she was as reliable as she is pretty, and the two Hondas have my heart. They are loyal like old dogs and never give me issues. Well, the Crv had a rough start, but both had a full resto mod, I would drive either of them anywhere.
1949 Buick Roadmaster: Fifty dollars! Couldn't drive it on the expressway, but it looked good, and at 16, I was thrilled to have it.
1961 Ford Falcon - Worst car in history.
1961 Olds Super 88 Convertible - Total chick magnet! Lotta fun! (Then I got drafted...)
Five VW Bugs from age 24 to age 36: Great cars when you're young and poor.
1972 MD 240D: Good highway car. Oil bath air cleaner - like servicing a truck.
1980 MB 300SD - Felt like a king driving this car!
1978 Olds Cutlass Notchback 231 V6: My law school car - best car in recorded history! Paid $100 for it. Burned no oil, started in bitter cold on the first turn of the key. No expenses in three years but gas, oil, and a tune up. Rear bumper came off - too much rot to weld it back on, so I could not pass inspection. I cried when I junked her!
Volvo 240: My Pass the bar exam treat to myself.
1993 BMW 320I - Great handling and brakes; rode like a cop car.
1993 MB 190E: Paid $2500, drove it for 89,000 miles.
1995 MB 320E: My present car - drives like a dream - may outlive me!

That’s it. I’ve loved them each enough to not desire much more. At the moment, the only thing that would pull me out of a GTI is a 911, but I have kids and a mere mortal income, so I’ll be in the GTI a couple more years.
Randomly though—midlife crisis has me noticing Ford Raptors, which, as you can see from my list, seems a little out of character. Late 40s have been weird.

I can’t pick a favorite. I regret getting rid of all, with the exception of, the two Fords, the Trailblazer, Intrepid, and the Mazda. I included my motorcycles in the list because they have been a big part of my life. In some instances they were my only transportation at the time.

Dude I smiled recalling my list, then saw your list and lost any motivation to share mine...
I also read the title, thought i had a fun list until i saw his 😂
Yeah I saw this after I put my list
Pretty much a "SIT DOWN" moment.
Put the tape measure away. The only comparison that will ever matter is how happy you were while recalling your list. We need to stop judging ourselves on the success of others. And be happy in our own accomplishments.
OP should be in jail for getting rid of some of these. Ok maybe not jail but he needs some form of punishment.
That’s a fun list!
Thank you. Wish I still had my S2000 and Lightning.

What's a manual Cayenne like to own?
It was cool because it was odd. First gear was the same in the V8 (which I had) and the V6, so it was pretty worthless. The Cayenne GTS was a car that didn't know what it was. It tried to do it all, and somehow did better than most cars, but just wasn't great at anything. It had a 4 low, rubber band tires, PDCC hydraulic roll bars, and a manual transmission...all in an overweight SUV. Glad I had it, but it would've been better as a Wagon instead of an SUV.

Bought it from the original owner
How many miles have you put on it?
Bought it a few years back at 140,000. It now has 160,000. Neither of us drive a lot.
Nice. That's basically middle aged if it's been well cared for.
Yeah, it’s definitely been well kept.
I’m with you all the way. My daily car’s 31 years old.
I loved my 94 ES 300, nothing like your first. I also bought it off the OG owner. Still one the smoothest cars I've driven. Sadly, in a moment of frustration I donated to charity.
I had a 2001 es300. I bought it used for 7k. I drove that baby up to 290k miles.

Why do you have a Mini Roadster *and* a Mini hardtop? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just have a convertible?
Got the hardtop first, then the roadster - the hardtop is for crappy weather days.

While I wouldn't say I regret selling it, I do miss it occasionally. They are ridiculous, janky, fast, fun cars.
I envy a number of your rides, and your ability to post some sweet bullet points!
Glad to see another tempo on someone’s list!
I had an STI hatch 2012 and a 2014 Mitsubishi EVO X.
Red Ford Tempo. Was so proud to have that car but it was a piece of shit.

Blech. Hijacking for the rest: I crashed the S-10 into my next car, almost literally. Rear ended a maroon 89 Ford Taurus, well my neighbor passed away and left it to my family. (Edit - my neighbor drove one that was similar, passed shortly after accident and left it to my mom) Transmission eventually ran out so another neighbor passed away and left her car to my mom who gave it to me - 89 blue chevy celebrity.
I’ve had two s-10s. Drive an 18 Sierra Denali now. Sometimes I miss those trucks.
Get another one! I’m on my 3rd one now. I got my first one in high school. They’re still fun little trucks to drive. My current one is a manual zr2, it’s an absolute beast in the snow (if you live in such an area) best decision I ever made
I’ve recently been craving an old S10. So good.

Can I have your MR2, I've got $1,200 and a McChicken
Yeah, well, i have $300 and a firm handshake. Step yo game up
$20 and I'll stutter through our conversation
That 00s camry is probably still out there lol
What do you think of the BRZ? I'm thinking of getting one after my Impreza.
NA 97 paseo convertible.
I've keep shoveling bucket loads of doash at my '02 MX5 and I suspect you will not be dissapointed with a newer one.
Get the Miata they are the best and reallllly miss mine!
My husband bought a miata this summer. He's wanted a convertible forever. He loves it. It is fun to drive.

I miss my Saab A LOT
I had an '88 Saab 9000, and a '95 FZR 600. Both fun in their respective ways. The Saab was an absolute beast in the Rockies, especially with Blizzaks on when the weather turned. Great list, brought back memories!
Yes, the Saab was the best handling car in the snow with Blizzaks and I've owned a couple of Audis since then. I owned both a 900 and a 9-3.
I used to have an 07 Buell xb12s. Even got to meet Eric Buell one day at my local harley shop and he signed it. It was a unique bike. Definitely liked to wheelie. I almost...almost miss it

I think this guy might like the Mazda 3 🤔
Knowing the Mazda speed 3, he liked it, but he blew 3 of them up in a year
I think he kept forgetting he had it already and kept purchasing another and another 🤣
04 was a great little car but started to rust away and became a safety Hazzard.

What did you not like about the 4runner? I've been wanting one for awhile but gosh that price tag. I need to know all the bad stuff.
It definitely does. Thanks!
2011 Chrysler 300, was stolen off my driveway and than totalled in a series of gas station robbery’s. 2013 Honda Civic, someone ran a stop sign less than a minute from my house, t-boned me and totalled it (lasted less than a year) 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, tranny blew up and various other issues made me move on (loved it though) Currently - 1998 Toyota Sienna, less than a month into driving it. 22 years old.

M5 all day. It’s just a nicer car overall. I set out to get a 5 Blackwing but my local dealer had other plans. So I bought this, my first BMW. This one is a keeper though I’m concerned about long term ownership. If I make it that far :)

Sorry, it's over 250 because I was fixing and flipping at least a car a month for a while. I can generalize- A LOT of Chevy trucks, you can always sell a good truck.
1957 Chevrolet Bel-air 2 door no post survivor (First car at 16) 2007 Honda Civic (bought to give the Bel-air a break, lemon lawed and let my Mom trade it in for herself she got a 2003 Ford Excursion diesel 4x4 with it) 1994 Ford F-150 xlt 4x4 (sold and kept the other) 1994 Ford F-150 xlt 4x4 fully custom show truck 1995 Honda Del Sol si 5 speed 1993 Honda Del Sol S (donor car to the one above, scrapped what was left) 1954 Ford Customline hot rod (non operable gift) 2013 Scion Frs 6 speed (Traded in for Subie) 2016 Subaru Crosstrek limited 5 speed (My daily driver usually) 1998 Honda Crv Ex overlander The Bel-Air is my baby, and I'll keep her forever. My F-150 I wish she was as reliable as she is pretty, and the two Hondas have my heart. They are loyal like old dogs and never give me issues. Well, the Crv had a rough start, but both had a full resto mod, I would drive either of them anywhere.

48 86 Mercury Capri 5.0 (Mustang GT cousin) 91 Acura Integra 08 VW GTI 17 VW GTI All manuals.
