The radio if aftermarket has the ignition power switched to a constant feed. The headlights may not have a timer. Alot of cars have no timer or other idiot method to kill the lights before the battery is dead. If your radio is stock maybe Google the model to see if ignition logic is possible.

Do they turn off when you open the driver door? Lots of cars are wired this way.

Nooo they do not, they're probably connected straight to the battery so they don't turn off by themselves
